Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the excellent wash quality, ease of use, and capacity of this 3.8 Cu. Ft. High Efficiency Top Load Washer. Many appreciate its performance and find it a great value for the price. However, some customers note that the washer can be quite loud and that the spin cycle may be a concern for some users. The presence of an agitator is a positive feature for many buyers.

Overall, a good washer. Wish could open during washing cycles and would be nice if had a quicker wash selection than one one machine. Little noisy, but ok. Seems to get the clothes clean and does not damage delicates. Have had it for about 9 months.

    FIRE HAZARD! DO NOT BUY!

Goes on by itself, motor making terrible sound, but no motion inside. This is a fire hazard. If I had not been home who knows what might have happened with the motor overheating. Now when I try to use it, no lights go on. It first quit on us in the middle of a cycle and would not spin and drain. Did not think leaving it plugged in would be so dangerous! IF i plug it in again, it will randomly go on sometime without pushing any buttons! I grew up with whirlpool appliances, they used to be VERY dependable and long lasting. This one looks brand new but won't work, and we have only had it one year and 8 months! That is bad for ANY brand. Diagnosis charge is one fourth the cost of the appliance, and does not go toward the repair! really disappointed with the brand. Love the agitator, and it cleaned so well! I have seen some other reviews that indicate that a few other people have experienced this same malfunction. i do not have facebook or instagram to contact Whirlpool.

3 Breadowns In Less Than 2 Years???

I purchased this washer in November, 2018, to replace a Sears Kenmore that was nothing but a lemon. I am a widow who has an illness that requires I do 2-3 small loads of wash a day so I don't do heavy loads or overwork/abuse my appliances. I really hoped after the Kenmore lemon to get a nice, reliable machine and I went for this one as I had always had good luck with Whirlpool products in the past. I preferred the "old style" with agitator, top load and choices but not all the bells and whistles. Initially, I loved this washer!! It was fast, quiet and the clothes came out great. So why the low rating? Towards the end of the first year, it was not sounding right. I had it looked at and it needed a repair, kind of a new machine to need a repair. It worked fine but was louder after the repair, not a problem to me. In the last year, it broke down two more times. The first two service calls I was able to use my washer while I waited for the appointment, parts to come and and the final appointment. This last time, the machine literally died a horrible death with no warning and no chance of using it. I am in a bind as with my illnesses I cannot use laundromat machines. Wait times from 3 places were over a week just for diagnosis, then there is ordering the parts and the final appointment. With a machine not even 2 years old, I hated to get rid of it and buy a new machine but had no option health-wise. Plus I added up what I had already spent on repairs or co-pays (with a warranty, plus cost for the warranty) and figured it was cheaper and easier to get a new machine. With Covid being rampant, many of the machines are on back-order but I was able to find one similar enough and able to be delivered two days from purchase...not sure it is the one I will stick with but I have 15 days to decide. I find it shocking that a machine less than 2 years old with constant but light use would require 3 repairs, including one where it died out of the blue! I find it hard to believe I got two lemons in a row, different brands but both name brands and well-respected. The repairmen all told me machines are not built to last but come on, being retired and widowed I am on a fixed income so I was glad when I got the Whirlpool paid off and didn't expect to buy another machine so soon but, as I wrote earlier, I cannot be without a washing machine and if the repairs are adding up almost a much as a new machine why not? I refused to recommend my Kenmore due to breakdowns and so I cannot recommend the Whirlpool either due to breakdowns and expense after less than 2 years. Best of luck to all getting new washing machines!

    1. You cant choose the amount of water you want. Or load size. 2. When you choose "deep water wash" it still wont do it. 3. Sometimes it doesnt wash the clothes right. Ex) it comes out with the same stain. 4. Put the soap before you put the clothes for best results. 5. Wash small loads for best results 6. Gets the job done I guess.

Love the washing machine with and actual agitator. But don't like the fact that the geek squad did not return the washing machine hoses and credit my account for the $29.99 plus tax. They said they would return them to best buy and credit our account and did not do it, very disappointed.

This is the loudest washer ! It booms every time it changes cycles. At times it runs for an hour for a large load. I thought i would save water but I don't think it is. Overall it is a piece of junk.

I’ve had this washer for about two months. First washer I ever bought and I haven’t had any problems. Washes my clothes and when I close the door to the laundry room I can’t really hear it. It’s also has a large capacity I’m about to wash my king size comforter with no problems

We are very pleased with our new washing machine, as it is so much quieter than our last one. Very easy to use, also; to me, the simpler, the better! The Best Buy salespeople who helped us in making our purchase choice for this washer, as well as the young men who delivered and installed it, were superb! All were extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and on top of all of that, friendly, too! Thanks, to all involved!

This washer was replacing a model that had an agitator. It does not work as well as an agitator model but I had trouble finding one. I hope they will come back out because they are the best. Cleans my clothes OK. It is noisy with my laundry room door open.

I am very happy with my purchase. The basin is very large & can accommodate a comforter & multiple sheet sets at once. As someone with an indoor laundry room, the quietness of this washer is very much appreciated. It's so quiet, after the 1st time using, I had to open the lid to see if it was on!

Reasonable price and they get the job done no problem. Has a nice large capacity. The washer is kinda loud but not to the point where that should be your deciding factor to not buy these. The main thing I was looking for when purchasing was it having a fabric softener despiser and this one does. To dispense the softener you have to have it on extra rinse though and that adds about 15 minutes to your wash for a total of about an hour to wash your clothes. Overall I am satisfied and would purchase these over the crazy expensive ones any day.
