Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the excellent wash quality, ease of use, and capacity of this 3.8 Cu. Ft. High Efficiency Top Load Washer. Many appreciate its performance and find it a great value for the price. However, some customers note that the washer can be quite loud and that the spin cycle may be a concern for some users. The presence of an agitator is a positive feature for many buyers.

If you are looking for a good value washing machine this is it. Easy to use, quiet enough, good size to fit into smaller washer/dryer closets.

Things have really changed since I last had to purchase a washer. I was not aware that some are sold w/o an agitator. This model does have one. There is more than enough room for a regular load of clothes. It has multiple settings and also an auto sense. I would only use that for a really small load. We've only used it a few times but the machine is great. What I found to be disappointing was the fact that at installation the people did not level it. If they are installing it, would this not be a part of the process? But I'm reviewing the machine, not them.

Bought this washer to replace an old GE unit, so it's definitely an upgrade. The washer is relatively quiet and the auto-sensing feature is great. Cycles to take a bit long to complete, but usually done in about 45 minutes. What I dislike the most is that clothing does seem to come out wrinkled, depending on the fabric.

The washing machine washes very well and spins great. The things I don't like about it, If I need to add anything during the wash, I open the lid and all stops, have to use the push button again. Also, while it is washing and rinsing, it makes loud noises.

Not top of the line but a good machine

This is a very basic washing machine. I like the manual washing options as opposed to the selected version on the Cabrio. Clothes also seem to wash well. I would like an end of cycle signal. I have had on 2 occasions water on the floor because the load got out of balance when washing towels. I only put 4 or 5 regular bath towels in, evenly distributed in the drum, but they still got out of wack and cause the machine to be unlevel. I've tried to wash deep water and auto sense and it still happened. Not all the time but still and issue. The machine is not a whisper quite but not a distracting loud. It's a washing machine washing clothes, doing its said job. If you prefer top of the line, don't get this machine. If you want basic, get the job done at a reasonable value, this is your machine.

If you're looking for a quiet or almost silent washing machine this is NOT the one for you. Although it does wash clothes pretty thoroughly, I have found it impossible to ignore the noises it makes while it's running.

Overall, a good washer. Wish could open during washing cycles and would be nice if had a quicker wash selection than one one machine. Little noisy, but ok. Seems to get the clothes clean and does not damage delicates. Have had it for about 9 months.

I’ve had this washer for about two months. First washer I ever bought and I haven’t had any problems. Washes my clothes and when I close the door to the laundry room I can’t really hear it. It’s also has a large capacity I’m about to wash my king size comforter with no problems

    1. You cant choose the amount of water you want. Or load size. 2. When you choose "deep water wash" it still wont do it. 3. Sometimes it doesnt wash the clothes right. Ex) it comes out with the same stain. 4. Put the soap before you put the clothes for best results. 5. Wash small loads for best results 6. Gets the job done I guess.

3 Breadowns In Less Than 2 Years???

I purchased this washer in November, 2018, to replace a Sears Kenmore that was nothing but a lemon. I am a widow who has an illness that requires I do 2-3 small loads of wash a day so I don't do heavy loads or overwork/abuse my appliances. I really hoped after the Kenmore lemon to get a nice, reliable machine and I went for this one as I had always had good luck with Whirlpool products in the past. I preferred the "old style" with agitator, top load and choices but not all the bells and whistles. Initially, I loved this washer!! It was fast, quiet and the clothes came out great. So why the low rating? Towards the end of the first year, it was not sounding right. I had it looked at and it needed a repair, kind of a new machine to need a repair. It worked fine but was louder after the repair, not a problem to me. In the last year, it broke down two more times. The first two service calls I was able to use my washer while I waited for the appointment, parts to come and and the final appointment. This last time, the machine literally died a horrible death with no warning and no chance of using it. I am in a bind as with my illnesses I cannot use laundromat machines. Wait times from 3 places were over a week just for diagnosis, then there is ordering the parts and the final appointment. With a machine not even 2 years old, I hated to get rid of it and buy a new machine but had no option health-wise. Plus I added up what I had already spent on repairs or co-pays (with a warranty, plus cost for the warranty) and figured it was cheaper and easier to get a new machine. With Covid being rampant, many of the machines are on back-order but I was able to find one similar enough and able to be delivered two days from purchase...not sure it is the one I will stick with but I have 15 days to decide. I find it shocking that a machine less than 2 years old with constant but light use would require 3 repairs, including one where it died out of the blue! I find it hard to believe I got two lemons in a row, different brands but both name brands and well-respected. The repairmen all told me machines are not built to last but come on, being retired and widowed I am on a fixed income so I was glad when I got the Whirlpool paid off and didn't expect to buy another machine so soon but, as I wrote earlier, I cannot be without a washing machine and if the repairs are adding up almost a much as a new machine why not? I refused to recommend my Kenmore due to breakdowns and so I cannot recommend the Whirlpool either due to breakdowns and expense after less than 2 years. Best of luck to all getting new washing machines!

This is the loudest washer ! It booms every time it changes cycles. At times it runs for an hour for a large load. I thought i would save water but I don't think it is. Overall it is a piece of junk.

Love the washing machine with and actual agitator. But don't like the fact that the geek squad did not return the washing machine hoses and credit my account for the $29.99 plus tax. They said they would return them to best buy and credit our account and did not do it, very disappointed.
