Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the 4.3 Cu. Ft. High Efficiency Top Load Washer's cleaning performance and large capacity, finding it easy to use and a good value for the price. However, some customers noted that the washer can be noisy and that the lack of an agitator, less-than-ideal spin cycle, and absence of a fabric softener dispenser were drawbacks. A small number of users also reported reliability issues.

All the newer washing machines were soooo different than what I was expecting...NONE of them have the 'old fashion' agitators anymore...well ok fine...BUT...in so many of them I couldn't reach the bottom without almost hanging there with my feet off the ground. On this machine - even still I had to really reach - but it could be done!! I stand 5'2" and on most it was like leaning over into the machine and having to almost touch the floor on the other side. It was like I either had to always have a stool to climb up on or having a stick to be able to grasp what was in the washer. But with this model....ta da!! I love it, I've had it now for almost a year and it's quiet and does great work!

I really like this washer. I heard about high efficiency washers from my brother in law but when he told me how much he paid for his I thought this type of washer was out of my budget. When we moved into our new house I started researching washers and came across high efficiency and saw this washer and realized I could afford it. Using this washer makes me feel like I have money. The push to start, simple selections to choose different types of washes is really cool and simplifies washing clothes. I like being able to throw a load in and the machine matches the load with the water needed. The washer isn't loud when in use and even when it's done the buzzer isn't annoying. Only issue I have is that sometimes the clothes get tangled together because of the washing technique because there's no middle agitator.

I've had this washing machine for 29 days now--it's done an excellent job so far! The noises take getting used to, as well as the cycles being a tad longer. I tell you what--wait until you wash your bed spread or comforter in this machine, it's so easy! There's no agitator, no fuss--you just throw it in there, and, it cleans it so well. I'd definitely recommend this machine to my friends and family!

Purchased the washing machine after my Whirlpool broke after 11 yrs. This high efficiency washing machine has no agitator, but you have to put the clothes in the machine like it has one. Also, you have to use high efficiency detergent. With this machine you cannot put the fabric softener in the machine until the rinse cycle. So you have to listen for it. Whirlpool recommended I purchase a Downy ball. Also, the machine has to be cleaned with Affresh every 3 months. It makes sounds like a drill in a dental office.

The capacity is massive and it’s really easy to use. The tub itself seems a little loose but haven’t had it long enough to know if it’s a problem. So far I’m very happy with the purchase l.

It was Black Friday pre-sale.... I went on the associate's suggestion although I was hesitant about having no center wringer like all my past washers. Wow! It is great... yes, the noises are different, but once I got the idea of how it works, I know I will be more energy efficient! Yes, some clothes come out more twisted but I don't think it's a big deal to shake out a few before drying. Overall I am pleased

It is very good washer with large capacity, it does make a slight sound in the washing mode, it can be masked, if you have a door. Good for comforters and good on water levels.

First off, I got this on sale during labor day. Saved $100 off regular price. Secondly, there is no wash arm in the center of the machine like in the old school ones. This saves energy I believe. It is also a smart machine as it determines how much water will be used etc. etc. using sensors. Use HE detergent products in it only which is what most detergents are nowadays anyways. The lid locks during the cycles so you would have to hold the cancel button to stop the cycle. Use the guides in the lid and everything will be fine. If the machine is ever thrown off and starts walking inside of your wash room, its because the load is un-level on the inside. Pause the cycle, readjust the clothes evenly and try again. I have had this happen already and that fixed it. Lastly, it gets the clothes clean! No complaints here!

I have always purchased Whirlpool, so when I saw this one at a reasonable price, I jumped at it; never realizing that since I bought my last Whirlpool, there has been new technology; these "high efficiency" machines. This machine fills with only enough water to supposedly do the job. The clothes are barely covered with water and the machine does make different sounds than what I was used to while it shifts clothes around to try to determine how much water to continue pouring in. I was glad to see that you could use the option to fill the machine with water to the top but even after selecting that option, the machine did the same thing; no difference. I'm not sure if this was a real problem or I misunderstood what the machine is supposed to do. For this reason alone, I returned the machine for the next lower model which that has an agitator (this one doesn't). I'll review that machine as well. The one thing I didn't like most about this machine is the vibration on the spin cycle. The machine shakes so bad you can't even read the words on the machine while it shakes. Plus, I could hear it loud in the house. The machine was in the garage and the room in my house was right next to the garage. So, I get that you have to hear something, but I don't ever remember hearing my old machine at all.

I have gone through 3 washers in 10 years. I bought from Appliance stores. The washers all name brand and we were told great machines. When they broke they were just past the warranty. It would have cost as much as a new machine to repair. I finally asked a repairman what machine to buy. I needed heavy duty and one that will last. Not much to ask for. I have paid over a grand for one, 300 for another and 600 for the last one. He said no to front loaders or ones with circuit boards (or ones that are all electronic) that was his best advice. I bought this one because he said Whirlpool was Sturdy, Made in USA and reasonably priced. I love the size, quietness of machine and no agitator. I love that I can put 7 bath sheet towels and cleans with ease. I put a queen size quilt no problem. It has been a couple of months and praying I won't need to look for a few more years!!!

We replaced our 1983 Whirlpool washer and have been very happy with the results. We are able to wash larger loads and it does an excellent job. We were a little concerned about the reviews that mentioned problems with water draining, but we have had no problems with that at all.

We bought our Whirpool washer a month ago and I must say that I am not disappointed. This washer does everything that I expected. It's very quiet, large enough for bulky clothes and after the rinse the clothes look and smell very clean--this washer performs excellent! We had our last Whirpool washer for 15 years and when it was time to finally replace it, I took the time to read the reviews of this Cabrio 4.3 washer and they were all excellent. When we went to Best Buy we looked at other brands but for the price, the size and life expectancy of this washer we were sold again on a Whirpool. We expect this washer to last us 10-12 years. Make no mistake, buy this washer, you will not regret it.

I found that the choice of one or two rinses is nice especially if you have allergies and I like the simplicity of dials instead of a complicated circuit board. You choose how you want your laundry washed instead of the machine choosing. My last machine was always out of balance and so far so good on this one. It is a bit noisier than my last one but my laundry room is in the garage so no problem there.

Easy to use washer with as few extra options as necessary. This washing machine works great for older individuals who may not be able to use more tech-heavy features. I like that the machine doesn’t have an agitator which means more items you can fit in the machine!

It is taking me some time to get used to this washer. I love the very large capacity, and the fact that I can wash comforters, large loads of towels, etc. It makes a very loud and obnoxious noise during the wash cycle, sounds like grunting! The various water levels in the cycles are confusing, and if you choose the wrong cycle, you can end up with clothes that are not clean because the washer did not fill up enough. Read the manual, and better yet, the inside of the cover of the washer explains it better.

It’s a washer. 500 or 2000 it’s a washer Parts last about 5 to 7 years family of 4 to 6. This one has many settings auto detects size of load. Without center agitation need to set dirty clothes to longer wash cycle. Quite until spin, shakes no matter size of load, perfect balance. Load meticulously laid in, doesn’t matter. Do smaller loads instead of one large. With larger cavity tendency’s to over load. Too many whirlpools to choose from. Store extra warranty not specific for appliances not recommend. It is a washer quite gets job done in 5 to 7 when it breaks, get another, it’s the American way.
