Pretty good washer, haters gonna hate
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is my first HE and my first Whirlpool. Best Buy came and installed it, delivery is a huge plus. I think the combo of HE in a top loader is the best of both worlds. THERE IS NO TRADITIONAL AGITATOR in this appliance. Keep that in mind when researching and using it. It does not work like an old fashioned washing machine. If you have a specific routine you are used to and don't want to change then maybe get something else. The unit is loud, but only for bursts at a time. A regular washing machine makes a little noise all the time. This cycles on and off and can be distracting. I since housed it in a W/D closet and it is much less annoying now. I can hear the TV over it without a problem. The other minor issue is clothes will get tangled up inside of sheets. I would just wash your bedding totally separate. Detergent is also extremely important. I used Tide powder but pods or liquids seem to work better in this machine. I never use bleach, but I will put a cup of vinegar in the wash as a fabric softener (there is no dispenser). Put your detergent in first, then load the clothes loosely on top. If you need more water for some reason, select Deep Water Wash or the Sheets setting, but 90% of the time just use Normal. With one rinse and no soak it takes about 45 minutes. But, the drum is high capacity so it actually saves time. The benefit here is using way less water than a regular machine. Also, I never use hot except for towels. I have never had a problem with dirty clothes, sopping wet clothes, or smell/odor/rust etc. I use the Affresh tab once a month (there is a setting specifically for this). Never used the Delicate setting, I wash those by hand. Good machine, recommended for the reasons above.
