Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the 4.3 Cu. Ft. High Efficiency Top Load Washer's cleaning performance and large capacity, finding it easy to use and a good value for the price. However, some customers noted that the washer can be noisy and that the lack of an agitator, less-than-ideal spin cycle, and absence of a fabric softener dispenser were drawbacks. A small number of users also reported reliability issues.

Very happy with this washer. Our front loader stop draining, AGAIN! Repair company said it wasn’t worth fixing this time. This was in early May 2020. Not good timing to say the least. I didn’t have time to do a lot of research but I knew I did not want another front loader (long history of issues). I wasn’t terribly disappointed I was getting rid of the washer made from nightmares just the timing was bad. I felt a little rushed to find a machine in stock. It’s been 9 months and I am still very happy with this purchase. The only negative I have it’s not quiet. Not an issue because our laundry room is on the basement. If we had laundry near bedrooms or other living space it may be an issue. I was a little nervous about getting a washer without an agitator. No problem. I don’t have young children and kids in sports anymore so the no-agitator is perfect. Clothes come out amazing. I do a double rinse sometimes with heavy loads to check ... second rinse comes out nice and clean. I have no reservations recommending this washer. Love the made in USA.

Pros : 1) Washes clothes well. 2) Nice not having agitator so bulkier items (mattress pad, comforter) can be washed with ease. 3) Spin cycle gets a lot of water out which makes drying time shorter. 4) I have utilized nearly all the cycles Cons : 1) not having a fabric softener dispenser and needing to listen to the cycles to know when to add softener. Wish it made a buzz noise or something to let me know the washer is done filling to begin the rinse cycle. 2) I'm use to rinsing out the detergent cup while the washer is filling up. However, this model doesn't allow for that...as soon as the lid is opened the water stops flowing. Thankfully I have a deep sink next to the washer and am able to rinse the cup before closing lid. Side note, nothing to do with unit, delivery company was difficult to deal with. Was scheduled for a Thursday delivery and the driver couldn't find my road (even after providing pretty detailed instructions). Was rescheduled to Saturday. Then Saturday morning received an email stating I was rescheduled again to nearly 2 weeks out. Not acceptable, especially with 2 kids in the house. Called dispatch and was scheduled for that Monday. Once finally delivered, install was seamless and drivers were courteous. Sales staff at store gave me discount for my troubles.

I was on the hunt for for a new washer, and literally everywhere I went it either wasn't in stock, or they were closed due to the pandemic. So with hope I drove over to Best Buy in Hyannis. There was someone out there doing curbside for another customer and I asked him about how I could try to buy a washer or if I could buy one. He waved me around to the side, and the people at the doors where people were picking up orders helped me right away. I can't rightfully review this washer, until I at first say that the employees who helped went above and beyond. My washer died, I had a stack of laundry and really needed one. They could have made me order online and wait. Instead they went and got the one I needed that they had in stock. Thank you all! Now on to the washer. Its FANTASTIC! It cleans well, runs quietly, and handles good sized loads. So far no major issues at all. Setup was super easy, and it doesn't have the agitator in the center. Perfect for a frustrated the washer broke Mom and her family :). So thanks again Best Buy! Purchased 5/17/2020.

I bought this new washer after my 2 year old Amana washer decided it wanted to start a career in break dancing. After finally getting it installed about 3 weeks ago I am blown away by the device. First and foremost it has no agitator, but that's a good thing as it allows for bigger loads. Now, the first time my fiance used it first, and it worked perfectly. However when I used it to wash the sheets, it finished soggy. I'm not upset at all, so I just put it to rinse a spin, and it still comes out soggy. But upon closer inspection after all that waiting I notice the bulky load/sheets option. So, we're both standing their laughing out butts off, and put it on that setting, and everything runs perfectly. Long story short, it's been about a month, but we both couldn't be happier with this washer. It handles big loads well, the impeller is far more gentle than on some rare t-shirts I have, and clothing in general, and and best of all it's far more energy efficient than my old Amana. If you need a new washer don't hesitate, this baby is far worth the price of purchase.

When our ancient washer died, we needed a replacement quck and were looking for a baseic model instock with next day delivery. The kids are grown up and it is just my wife and me so large volumn was not an issue. The High Eefficiency (HE) washsers are new since our last purchase so we did a bit of research. This washer seemed like a good trade off of price and features. It has lots of cycles for different kinds of loads so we copied the page from the user manual that describes what each cycle is best for. A short version is also on the wahser lid, but that is not complete enough. You should do that or you will be disappointed with the cleaning. The washer is in the basement so the noise some reviewers complained about is not a big issue for us. Two things we wish were better. There is no place to put fabric softener. We still need to get one of those fabric softener balls like we had in the olden days. They are only about $3 but we keep forgetting to look for them. I don't mind stiff towels, wife does. Attention Downey - Mareketing Opportunity - They should include one along with a sample of softener. Also for some cycles the valve opens (or maybe closes) so quickly there is a pressure hammer thud in the pipes. Next design iteration should address that or maybe already did.

First Whirlpool washer. Replaced old Kenmore. Read mixed reviews and was originally skeptical about buying it. Have had this machine for a month now and am glad we bought it despite the mixed reviews. Yes, it's noisy compared to my old washer but it's in my garage so I really don't notice it that much. It senses the amount of clothes and soil in the load and adjusts accordingly. I use He specific detergent and haven't had any problems with stains as some have stated. No tower agitator in the middle so the drum can capacitate quite a bit. Yes, the clothes come out quite wrinkled from the spin cycle but if you dry them in a dryer, there's no problem. Otherwise, a touch up with an iron if you're air drying. The only thing I don't like is that the water shuts off if you open the lid, so now it's not so easy for me to rinse the extra detergent out of the measuring cap. Not a huge problem, but I like to keep the cap from getting sticky and messy between loads.

We had bought a low-end Samsung unit that had a terrible shake to it. So, I researched a very long time to come up with this unit. I am very glad I took the extra time, this go-around. It's relatively quiet (no, not as quiet as some real expensive ones), does a great job cleaning, and doesn't bang around like the Tasmanian Devil. A very good variety of wash cycles is available. The temperature controls are simple. The pre-soak works great. One drawback might be the manual adding of fabric softener in the rinse phase, with no dispenser. We use a fabric softener sheet in the dryer, so that's not really a problem for us. It has a bleach dispenser bin, though. The two-rinse option is very nice. We use it almost exclusively, noticing how much softer and cleaner it makes our laundry. Overall, this washing machine is a lot quieter and cleans a lot better than the low-end Samsung unit we got rid of. It's a great workhorse of a unit.

Classic Washer without fancy controllers or buttons. It reminds me of the washer in the early 90's without the agitator in the middle that rip clothes, underwear or bra. I got tired of buying the fancy washer and too much electronics involved, motherboard kept breaking and costing too much money to repair. This is my 3rd washer in ten years. The best thing about this deal is the PRICE, I got washer and dryer for less than $1,000 normally thats a price of only a washer usually.

Really like this washer! I like that it doesn't have the center piece that can damage your clothing. Washes very well and can handle really large loads! Only 2 things I don't like: 1- no fabric softener holder so just buy pods so to not stain clothing and 2- just a little bit loud compared to front loaders

    Washer gets the job done

I'm impressed with the options that this washer gives. As advertised, it takes a lot more clothes in one wash and senses the load to use the right amount of water. As a few other reviews I do agree that it makes a bit more noise than any other washer and it does take a bit longer to finish washing a normal load. But, in the end it gets the job done. So if you're not bothered by a bit of extra noise and the length of time it takes then this is definitely a great washer to choose. Always ask questions to the sales representatives at the store especially the installation process in that way everything can run smooth as in my case. Having all the answers, it gave me enough time to get things prepared at home before delivery and installation.

This washing machine is top load which we wanted. It has a large capacity and uses very little water. The only thing I do not like about it is that it has no liquid fabric softener dispenser. I use a downy ball and it works fine, but it would have been easier if there was a dispenser

Had agitator type washer break, also an HE unit. This agitator-free unit allows more space in the tub. Very easy to operate. Only downsides - no dispenser for fabric softener and machine likes to stay locked even after the cycle is complete. A simple light lift on the lid triggers the lock to unlock. I'd bet I could make a warranty claim for this small nuisance. Otherwise, great machine.

Overall I am very happy with the machine however I do wish the cycle selections were not so automated. I can never really figure out the right setting recommended for the load being washed. I really wish that the I could choose the combination of settings that i want rather than dumbing it down for the consumer. What does "Normal" really mean? I need to look at the picture under the lid every time I am doing a load. Now I need to use some Decision Tree Analysis to determine if "Normal" is better than "Deep Water Wash" or "Bulky Items" or any of the other 10 cycles. Multiple options are great but it was much easier when I decisions used basic words to select the water level, temperature and gentleness. The wash tub has no agitator in the middle which is a big plus however you still should not overload the machine or mix up the weight of the items go in as the spin and dry cycle does not always work. If you fill the tub no more than two-thirds of the way full everything works great. One major disappointment is that there is no automatic dispenser for the fabric softener. This is my fault because I assumed all washing machines had them nowadays so I did not look for this feature when I was comparing machines. We use the fabric softener ball and/or dryer sheets but they don't work as the liquid and I know I will never be waiting around to add softener during a final rinse cycle. Oh well.

I did not see this washer in the store, just shopped on-line so I was pleasantly surprised to see how much more a 4.3 cu ft washer was than my old 3.4 washer. I didn't understand the "high efficiency" feature until I used it. If using regular detergent, not recommended, it may suds too much. Also, it uses far less water than a conventional type. The sounds when agitating and adding water early in the cycle initially made me think it might be defective, but alas, that is normal. This washer does the job with just the right amount of options. Have done maybe 8 loads of wash so far and no surprises.

The washing cycle take a lot longer with the new efficiency water level cycles. I am pleased with the results of each cycle, clothes come out nice and clean. Love the large capacity of the washer. It is not a high end machine so it is nosier than my previous old style machine, took some getting used to, but not a deal breaker. Over all I am pleased with its performance.

I had to do some research online after I bout this product because I have never had a HE top load washer before. I was concerned about the noises and how the cycles ran much different. Anyone coming from an older non HE washer will have the same concerns. After reading some info online and watching some videos I found out this was normal for these washers. Some are more quiet than this one during the cycles but they will all wash differently. It also gets your attention when you do not see the amount of water you did with your old washer. Again this is normal for these washers. It just takes a little getting used to. I am still new to the experience so that is all I can give for feedback right now.

The machine does a great job of cleaning-it takes longer than my old machine did and it is rather noisy but it is in the lower level of the house so it doesn't bother us. I thought it had a rinse cycle so you wouldn't have to wait to add it during that cycle but you do have to add it. It does have the 2 rinses that I like, The capacity is fantastic-I can wash my comforters and rugs with no problem.

This is my first high-efficiency washer so it has taken a little time to get used to it. It was so loud the first cycle that I was afraid something was wrong with it. So I went online and found out that it's normal. After the first load it wasn't quite so loud, but is still louder than I had hoped for. Also, the first time I washed sheets in it it got off balance and started 'walking'. After looking through the manual I came across a tip buried somewhere that it's a good idea to mix items of various sizes to avoid the out of balance issue. Since then I have had no problems. If it were quieter and I didn't have to be careful about mixing items of different sizes I would give it 5 stars.

I needed a washer that would fit in the limited space in my condo. I was pleased to be able to get a washer that has such a large capacity and does not have the agitator which takes up so much space. The washer does a good job of getting clothes clean. I like that I have opportunity to add items to the tub after the cycle has started when I remember something that was missed.

I chose this washer to replace a Maytag Centennial model which gave me numerous problems. This Whirlpool cleans the clothes very efficiently, has a larger tub for bigger loads and has user friendly controls. Love the quick wash feature and choices for different types of loads. Please note, this washer has multiple settings with many choices. It is important to read the manual to understand how to properly use the washer to get the results desired. The underside of the lid has a guide for types of loads and the settings to use. Very helpful!
