Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the 4.3 Cu. Ft. High Efficiency Top Load Washer's cleaning performance and large capacity, finding it easy to use and a good value for the price. However, some customers noted that the washer can be noisy and that the lack of an agitator, less-than-ideal spin cycle, and absence of a fabric softener dispenser were drawbacks. A small number of users also reported reliability issues.

I was at fist surprised at how little water this washer uses but I have discovered that the clothes come out clean and fresh. It holds a lot and a sensor adjusts the water level as it is filling. A great energy saver and I recommend it.

This gets the job done for the price of it. Ours broke and we needed a quick replacement.

We bought this unit to replace another HE Washer that was still working but had become super noisy. Even though we knew that HE washers make strange noises and have odd cycles, it was so noisy that we thought we got a lemon and had it replaced. The replacement was just as noisy, so be aware. It seems to clean the clothes ok.

I was a little concerned about moving from an age old but very good experience with agitator washers to the new "he" washer, but I just could not find a new agitator washer that I liked and so I put faith in the Whirlpool name that has been so good to me for so many years and am surprising pleased thus far. It's different but good.

I had a comparable washer from a different brand (other was a bit more expensive) but I prefer this one. The other washer was leaving some residue on my clothes (soap) but this one doesn't! Only thing I wish it had was a drawer for detergent and fabric softener, but I can get past that!

I did not realize that I was buying one of these new fangled washers till I got it home. They call it High Efficiency. I love it. Get clothes clean and saves money at the same time. Very quiet compared to my old washer.

Issues With White Spots on Clothing

This washer leaves white spots from detergent on dark clothing. Lots of talk about it online. It has no detergent dispenser - you just dump the detergent in the bottom of the washer. This may contribute to the problem. Supposedly not enough water gets in the load to circulate all of the clothes completely, so you have to do work-arounds, like using much higher water setting than it calls for, and putting in less clothes per load.. Spend a little more to avoid this headache!

Everyone told me to go basic, avoid all the bells and whistles. Yeah, no bells and whistles here, but lots of shimmies and shakes, To me, this thing is boisterously loud. But my last washer and dryer set was barebones, but good quality. The knob broke on the dryer. And I decided to buy a new set and give those to my cleaning lady. I was like, these are ten years old. It’s time for something new. People were looking at me like I was crazy. Now I know why. I was still gonna be chill and avoid trendy front loader, app-enabled models, but seriously, these are loud and I have no idea how long the cycles are. So I’m expected to set a timer or something to know when to put a new load in? And I don’t think these were super cheap or anything. I guess if you can “only” pay $2k for a washer/dryer, it is your lot in life to hear to the sound of the washing machine while sitting down at your dining table to eat. All of this for a KNOB. The WiFi washer and dryer set will be here on Wednesday.

I was looking for a new washer and one that was affordable. This was perfect! Took me a few washes to figure out the right settings that worked best for me, but now that I know... its perfect!

    GE top load washer

Well I had a kitchen aide washer for 14 years and I finally had to get a new washer . I don’t like the front load washers and overly complex systems concern me . So I initially bought a HE ( high effincenecy ) washer and apparently the NEW THING is low water usage / no water usage . So the water is dispensed w a sensor that apparently doesn’t even wet your clothes fully, so I returned the washer . Then the associate told me about the GE with a FILL button game changer . Old school top load washer w an override for the LOW WATER USEAGE issue. Great unit, but a little loud .thorough spin feature and huge capacity . I just close the door to the laundry room . Otherwise a very functional unit. We will have to see about the long term reliability
