Customers are saying
Customers are impressed with the 4.3 Cu. Ft. High Efficiency Top Load Washer's cleaning performance and large capacity, finding it easy to use and a good value for the price. However, some customers noted that the washer can be noisy and that the lack of an agitator, less-than-ideal spin cycle, and absence of a fabric softener dispenser were drawbacks. A small number of users also reported reliability issues.

Great replacement for those fearing change
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife hung onto her Kenmore / Whirlpool washer for 20 years until it finally washed its last. If she could have bought the exact same washer she would have - she was convinced that a new HE washer without an center agitator wouldn't clean as well. I'm pleased to report that she likes this one a lot, and it has a significantly higher capacity than our old machine in the exact same dimensions.

Whirplool top load
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would have given it lower rating if the price for open box item I got was any higher. Machine works fine with small loads. Larger loads are challenge. It simply does not add enough water. Attempt to wash one Sleeping bag had to be abandoned altogether. Washed by hand. Noise levels as expected. I actually liked cycle profile for small loads. Feature Deep wash is a joke does nothing different than regular cycle.

Good washer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m very happy with my purchase. I feel like it’s worth the price. It’s a bargain and has a lot of nice features. It’s gentle on my clothes yet cleans thoroughly. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because it’s quite noisy. But overall it’s a great washing machine.

Great quality for its price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have been using machine for about two months an average of 6 loads per week. Great for large families as the tumble has great capacity. Big enough to fit comforters and no damage is done to them. Multiple settings are convenient and easy to use. The song at the end of the load is a great feature. Do not overload with towels and heavy blankets because during rinse and spin the sensor gets confused and will add more water to try balancing the load.

Great large washer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washer is awesome, large capacity and I feel like my clothes get so clean. It doesn't have an agitator so I feel like the clothes get moved around more than a traditional washing machine. I absolutely love my new washer!!

Love this washer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this washer. It is able to sense the size of the load that you put in and adjusts water and other settings to compensate. I don't have to guess about the size of the load - the washer does this for me. I've noticed a slight reduction on our water bill since I've had this washer. I read other reviews before purchasing it. Someone said that it doesn't spin the wash sufficiently. I've not found this to be true. I rarely adjust the settings except for hot or cold water - regular or bulky items. It uses alot less detergent and water.

Does what it says it does
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nothing fancy but has everything we need. We recently had a Samsung that was recalled due to tub unbalance. This Whirlpool has been wonderful. We’ve only had if for about 3 weeks but are very happy with it. If I had one complaint, it’s a little loud. Luckily we can close the laundry door which reduces the noise considerably. Outside of that, it does what it says it will do.

top loading whirlpool washing machine
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Machine seems to do the job of washing. I was really looking for a machine with an agitator ( but discovered it seems to do the trick without one). Machine is not loud, very quiet. My issue is is that clothes come out VERY WRINKLY each load. I called whirlpool to ask if there was a fix - shorter spin was the answer which isn't an option on this machine. Dark clothes also come out with almost linty dirty patches...unsure why, but a double rinse cycle seems to work...

Fabric Softner Missing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washer works great however we didn't realize that there was no place for us to add fabric softner. We had Best Buy download a copy of the manual since we didn't get one when we purchased it, and found out that the work around is to get a Downy Ball to add fabric softner. This is the only thing that is wrong with this product. We purchased the ball and it seems to work okay. Otherwise we would have rated this product higher.

Great machine once you understand it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.High efficiency washing machines are different than what most of us are used to using. It's a smart machine. And you have to let it be smart and do what it does best. Clean clothes beautifully and with a minimum of water and product! The first load of laundry I did was a disaster. I used too much detergent and bleach. I couldn't get the water out of the clothes no matter what I did. And it sounded so different that it made me nervous about what was going on in there. But now I LOVE doing laundry in the HUGE drum using less than a cup of bleach and half a cap of detergent. Also have the matching Dryer which handles the extra load as well. It was a leap and one I am happy I made! Just be sure to read the manual before using.

Worth every penny
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, because I read other customers reviews, their opinions helped me choose what I wanted and without overspending. I opted to pay extra to have it installed and my old washer hauled away. Worth.every.penny. Very polite & efficient delivery team. I voiced my concerns to them about making sure the washer was leveled, which they did, and that alleviated my worries of owning a “walking washer”. My old washer was removed, hauled away, and the new one correctly installed in less than 30 minutes. Other reviewers also stressed the importance of reading the manuel, which in turn taught me how to load the machine correctly and understand how a HE washer will function properly. Best of all..NO AGITATOR in the middle of the tub....This washer has a huge capacity, washing clothes is not nearly the chore it once was. I couldn’t be happier I purchased it online... sight unseen until delivery day. I did compare several washers before selecting this one. It is very quiet and the cycle time is not much longer than what I was used to. Bottom line: learn how to load it, make sure the desired cycle is selected, and read the manual!

Love this High Efficiency Washer!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was slightly hesitant to purchase a High Efficiency washer, since I've never owned one, but I'm so glad I switched!! Looked at several models, read many reviews before I picked this machine. My old washer was a different brand, lasted many years but broke; to replace it would have been DOUBLE the price of this Whirlpool. Plus with an impeller instead of an agitator, this Cabrio 4.3 cu ft washer holds LOTS of clothes, about 50% more than my old washer. Using a H/E washer took a bit of getting used to; reading the entire owners manual BEFORE I ran it was very helpful. I also sat near the washer the first time I ran it. Not mentioned in owners manual, but I found it helpful to adjust settings, close lid, press "start" to fill with water til agitation starts, THEN add H/E detergent, shut lid to agitate a few times, then add clothes. Cycle time also not in manual, but I found "light soil, 1 rinse" averages about 45 min, not much different than my old washer. Some complained "washer is noisy;" this machine washes with INTERMITTENT agitation, not constant agitation/"white noise," like perhaps people are used to. Although the spin cycle is slightly noisier, in general it is as quiet as my old machine. 2) Some complained "machine does not fill with water;" that's because it's not intended to. Instead it uses a minimal amount of water and "rolls" the clothes thru the water. The instruction manual states that clothes may be above the water line at times. I found they still came out clean and fresh smelling, while using less energy and less water (note there is a "deep water" setting for those times one prefers more water, such as for sheets and bulky loads). I am already seeing lower water bills!! Anything which saves water (in our very high-priced water community) is a plus in my book. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THIS MACHINE, and with the great reputation Whirlpool has, I expect to get many years out of it!!

Excellent washer for anyone.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use, quiet, cleans well, provides many choices regarding size of load, rinse, degree clothes are soiled, and water temp. I am very pleased with this machine.

Ease of use, large capacity washer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Washing arrived as expected and the installers did a great job. The Washer is easy to use and can handle a large comforter. No agitator as my previous washer did. This is a great feature.

Holds large loads of laundry
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like a large tub with no center agitator but did not want a front loader so this is what I was looking for. It works great cleaning my clothes and they aren't getting damaged by an agitator.

Huge capacity
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our old washer was a large capacity but no where near the volume of this unit. Because this unit does NOT have a center agitator, the entire drum can be filled with clothes. Our old washer started to leak, and rather than spend the time and money to fix it (how completely American are we :-)) we decided to buy this unit on sale at Best Buy. So far so good. Haven't tested it with some bad stains.

Nice Basic Washer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an expensive set of LG washer/dryer but hated having a front loader. I went the less expensive route with not all the bells and whistles. So glad I did because it's easy to operate. Only downside is it is a bit loud and shakes some when spinning.

CAN'T LIFT LID, NO SOFTENER SPOT
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a great deal for under $500, but there isn't a place for fabric softener. I don't like that the lid locks. This weekend was washing pillows and it got unbalanced and starting jumping around, but because it was during the spin cycle when the lid was locked it just banged against the dryer. Don't like that once you open the lid it stops filling. I want to see the water level and add soap when water is coming out so it will mix. On a positive, I like being able to wash comforters.
