Customers regard the 4.6 Cu. Ft. Top Load Washer with Built-In Water Faucet highly for its cleaning ability, ease of use, and capacity. Many appreciate its size and find it a good value for the price. However, significant concerns exist regarding the noise level during the spin cycle, the lack of a detergent dispenser, and some reported reliability issues. A few customers also mentioned problems with the lid lock mechanism and spin cycle performance.

Good price, and it ended up being larger than my previous machine, which is very nice. I like the option of no agitator, as it allows you to put more into the tub. My old machine had a drawer where you would add the soap and the water would run thru the drawer to dispense the soap. This is like back in the olden-days where you just pour the soap onto the clothes, the water runs in and away it goes. I have found though, and my only complaint is that it is very loud when the water is running into the machine, we find we have to close the laundry room door if we want to have a conversation at the kitchen table (laundry room is off the kitchen). Otherwise, I am very happy with this machine.

I like how my clothes get good and clean with each wash. The temperature sensing feature is a real plus. Add to that the ability to override the factory preset temperature settings for the temperature I want for my clothes is great. Finally, I am thrilled with how my clothes wring out, no matter what fabric or temperature setting I have selected.
I do have some dislikes however. I chose the unit that does not come with an agitator. That was a new feature for me that seemed like a plus. My following comments may or may not be a result of the open barrel choice.
1. Grinding noise clearly heard when tub is moving through its’ cycle. The noise is very loud. I am grateful that my washer is in the basement and not upstairs!
2. I was alarmed to discover that this unit does not include an end of load buzzer. I have never had a washer without one.

Holds twice as much as my old washer. Cleans well. No agitator lets you wash large comforters. Needs separate laundry room because it is loud when it shifts gears. Too loud to be in a kitchen.

As some reviewers have mentioned, this washer is noisy, but not to the point of being annoying. I dont really like that it takes a few minutes for the cycles to start but it is what it is. I bought this washer because my old one died and it was on sale. I like that there isn't a agitator. Im also surprised by how much it can hold. I can wash a queen size comforter so noy more running to the laundry mat.

We believe in Whirlpool. Made in the USA, high performance and quality, we are very pleased with our new Whirlpool 4.6 cu. ft. top load impeller washer with the built-in faucet. It's an upgrade in both size and options compared to the one we had to replace because we absolutely wore that one out. Lots of laundry is done in our household and no matter if it's delicate or heavy duty washing that's needed, our laundry comes out perfectly. Not the lowest model and not the high end model, but definitely a high quality, high producing model that fits our households' needs.

Firstly, I selected the extras of having the best buy guys come in and install it and recycle my old ones, saving my tons of hassle!!! It's a great washing machine! I use powder ingredients only and I can tell my clothes smell great. I wash my bathroom mats in here as well and they always come out great :) I love the sensing feature so I dont have to worry about anymore setting changes other than temperature basically! I am pretty happy. This was my first washing machine and dryer purchase. The one thing is that it does use more energy when you use the hot settings but I only use that for socks and undergarments.

Washing machine is okay. Love the fact that it doesn’t have an agitator which allows more space and makes it a little easier to load and unload. 3 months in and I have a small problem with the washer filling but not starting the cycle. May be related to lid failing to lock. These things happen so I’m very understanding, especially since I purchased this item Open-Box. Hoping the warranty repair is quick and not costly. Will update this review after speaking with manufacturer.

Biggest Appliance Mistake
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
This is the first whirlpool appliance I have ever purchased and it was the biggest appliance mistake I have ever made. From the first day it has shaked and rattle with excessive vibration. It is also the noisiest appliance I have ever owned with loud mechanical sounds at ever function of use. Even with solid core doors and sound insulated walls it can be heard in every room of the house. I would have returned it right away, but I had to buy my appliance before moving into our new home (since there were supply chain issues)--and so I was beyond the 15 day return window. Then over the past few weeks we are getting random discoloration on towels, shirts, and sheets. We have never used bleach in the unit--just free and clear detergent. So I called the service department and they said they will come out to look at it, but if the service technician does not find something mechanically / functionally wrong then they will charge us $130 for the visit. Way to go Whirlpool!

1st was dead on arrival. Best buy replaced, and the 2nd functions. Surprisingly light, smooth and minimalist for those who don't need Bluetooth, wifi, radio, touch screen super computer to wash socks. Spin cycles when leveled are pretty quiet and the machine sets solid. Water filling and discharging are quite loud though. And i found that the discharge location being the very bottom leading to needing a longer hose to reach the drain. Also, lid locking is a function i can see easily failing in the future and leaving clothes trapped.

Imagine a washer that not only cleans your clothes but also doubles as a kitchen sink because why not? The Whirlpool - 4.6 Cu. Ft. Top Load Washer with its built-in faucet is like the Swiss Army Knife of laundry appliances, ready for any task from washing your favorite shirt to filling up a bucket for... well, whatever you need a bucket for. It's got the capacity of a small spaceship, the cleaning power of a thousand suns, and the convenience of having a water source right where you least expect it. Sure, it might raise a few eyebrows at first, but once you've used it to water your plants or fill up a drink while sorting laundry, you'll wonder how you ever lived without this quirky, futuristic marvel. It's not just a washer; it's a lifestyle statement that says, "I'm efficient, I'm prepared, and yes, I can do your laundry and your dishes." Rating: 4 out of 5 stars, because if it could make coffee, it'd be perfect. Just kidding!

Very good product for its price point. A little noisy if it’s in the interior of your home but mine is located in the enclosed garage so the sounds are muffled. The washer has more than sufficient number of pre-settings and is easy to use.
