We originally received one that was very, very loud. It sounded like it was really trying to balance the load and something was wrong. Saw a review on here that someone had a similar problem, exchanged it, and the new one was quiet. The second one we got is quieter, but I would not call it quiet. More like the loudest that is acceptable. Previous LG washer was much quieter.
