Washers have always to be a problem in the last 10 years. This one is no exception. It seems to make odd noises and will error for no reason at least once a week. I think it has too many bells on it and it seems to be not know what its main job is at times--just to wash clothes instead of think to hard about it. It makes a scraping noise at times like it is metal on metal when starting so we are waiting for to stop because we are told "it must completely stop working for repair". LOL Good for them if it goes out of warranty. :( WE would have not purchased this higher level of washer if it was not rated well or not one of the FEW available ---btw- we still waited a month on it. So I would pass if you have other options and go for a cheaper one that keeps it simple. :)

I like it but I am still trying to get used to the load and go dispenser. It is much more efficient with detergent use. I really like all the electronic selections.

This washer is fine, but not great. After looking in the store several times and reading copious reviews about different washers, I decided to go with this model for a few reasons. First, I liked the layout of the buttons--different than models with a turn knob, but they seemed well-organized and easy to understand. I also liked that it was a large drum with an impeller (which I had before and liked). I could also easily reach the bottom of the machine. Another reason I chose it was that the reviews were very good and people seemed to like the Load and Go feature for the most part. After using it for several weeks I am left feeling pretty blah about it. Although I liked the button layout in the store, what I did not realize was that I cannot see all the settings I have chosen. So, I need to go through each button each time (temp, water, soil level, spin, etc.) to make sure it is set how I want. From what i have read, I could most likely see these if I would connect the machine to the internet and check my app, but that is an inconvenience for me. Before I push start, I would like to confirm easily with a glance on the machine what settings I have chosen. The Load and Go Feature is working fine. I do like that it gives the proper amount of detergent for this type of machine--something that is easy to overdo. However, the manual is so sparse in info (and I've checked on the website too) that I don't understand what to do if I disable it. There is no single-use place for the detergent, Do I put a pod in if I disable? Will detergent just get washed away if I add at the bottom of the drum instead of using Load and Go? Do I disable the soap dispenser in the Afresh clean cycle or does in need to be empty of soap? A manual that took the time to give just a bit more details on new features would go a long way for the customer to not be confused and feel confident in their purchase. Another issue was that there was a slight burning smell after a few uses. I will say that Whirlpool (after a VERTY LONG hold time) was very helpful since it was under warranty (and a brand new machine). They sent out a repairman to check everything the next business day. The repair man found no issues and said it was normal burning off of machine grease. I have not had that issue since, but it did make me very wary of my purchase. In general, it is a fairly quiet washer--one of the things I do like about it. However, it does make these loud click sounds that are hard to get used to. It is just how it works and I know HE machines make some unusual sounds at times, but the clicks are sharp and always make me think something is broken. I guess the most important question, though is, does it get the cloths clean? For the most part, yes, I feel the clothes are mostly clean, but still in an average sort of way. If I could rewind time, I wish I had picked something else. I loved my last Maytag, but I don't think I will ever love this Whirlpool model. Lastly, this review is all about the machine. The purchase experience was great. The Best Buy team was super helpful and always willing to answer my questions. The service I received was great and I would return to Best Buy for future appliance purchases.

We bought this unit open box, so the price was right! The color and size work well for our laundry room and we really liked the Load n Go concept; put laundry detergent in the machine and don't think about it again for up to 20 loads! We had an issue with the machine making some loud screeching noises and have engaged the warranty department. They came out and made some repairs and said they had to order additional parts which would be 2 weeks. They scheduled an appt two weeks out and then had to cancel as the part did come in. Here we are four week later and we haven't heard from them. If it weren't for this hiccup I would give the machine 5 stars.

This washer is great! It cleans really well and I can fit a lot in it, but it’s loud. It’s not loud during the entire wash, but the initial start and when it’s switching cycles it’s louder than I’m use too. Thankfully it’s in my laundry room that has a door and our house is big enough for it not to be real nuisance.

I've had this washer for about 8 months now and waited to write my review. It is not my favorite purchase. I ended up moving out of state and had to sell my last home that had brand new LG top loaders. I was really happy with them. When I bought my new house I had to get all new appliances and since we are in the pandemic it was pretty difficult to find appliances. I was going to get the same LG but everything was out of stock and would be for a long time. I decide to go with these as they were in stock, reviews were good and I figured I'd give something else a try. Pros - I like the app feature. I didn't set it up right away as I figured it would be kind of useless but I do like that my phone notifies me when the clothes are done, it also allows you to add more drying time if needed. I work from home and my office is on the second floor of the house so its nice to get the alert. LG is only android friendly so I wasn't able to use that feature on my last set. Overall that is basically what it does. The auto dispenser. Its nice to load it and go but has a con which I listed below. I am short and I can easily reach to the bottom of the washer, something I struggled with on the LG. Roomy enough for a thin King sized quilt. Attractive design and the washer came with hoses so that was nice. The included scrubber brush is nice touch. The soak feature is really nice. Seems to clean clothes well. Cons - Wow, this washer is loud. I have it in my unfinished basement and I dont know if its because not much is down there to help with noise but I can't imagine having this on a first floor laundry room. My prior LG was on the first floor and was pretty quiet. I first thought maybe this washer was broke but apparently, it is fine. It makes a loud knocking noise as it changes gears and it took my two little dogs awhile to get used to it as they would lose their dang minds every time they heard it. Spin cycle is also extremely loud. It goes off balance a lot. This is pretty annoying. Again, hate to compare to my LG again but it is what it is. I could just toss the clothes in. No special arrangement needed. With this machine, it says to load around the walls of the machine trying to keep the center clear. No matter how I arrange it, it goes haywire with loads that have some weight when wet, like sheets or towels. It actually will move the washer a bit. Sometimes it will just error out which means, I have to end the error, press the spin only cycle as everything is soaked and sometimes have to start the washing process again. The to go dispenser is a neat idea but you still have to pour the fabric softener separately, so its not that big of a deal to have the load n go, if you still need to grab the fabric softener each time. Also the dispenser for the fabric softener tends to get clogged up. Like it doesn't properly drain into the machine. I do a deep clean every now and then and have to pour water over and over into the dispenser to clean it out. I now use laundry soap with softener in it. After so many loads, the machine will remind you to run a clean cycle over and over, until you do it. On the LG there was a clean cycle, this machine does not have it. So I randomly guessed to put it on the sanitize cycle with an Affresh tab. Manual is not clear. You have to hold down the start button for 3 seconds to start the machine. I dont know why this feature was added but I find it annoying. Its not clear what settings you have unless you press the buttons and go through the menu which shows you an arrow of what is selected (hot, warm, cold) etc. Overall, if I had a choice I would have picked something else.

Best washer we have ever purchased! Best feature is the load and go…we just fill up the detergent dispenser and select the appropriate settings time after time without having to measure and pour the detergent every time…the washer seems to be able to tell how much detergent the contents to be washed need…we purchased the matching dryer at the same time and and love them both! We also decided to add the Geek Squad service protection as these days, the manufacturers warranty is not only short lived it is also almost useless.

I went back to top load from front load because of the capacity. I like this washer better because it holds larger loads. The only negative is that the spin cycle is a little loud.

Long Cycle Times and bit if a learning curve

I was not used to new digital, smart washers when I bought this so the first few loads were a bit of a learn as you go experience. Once I got the hang of all the buttons, things have been a lot better. Thankfully, this machine holds a TON of clothes so one load is all i do in any given day because I'm used to doing 3 loads in the same amount of time it took to do one load on this machine. I assume this is because of all the sensing it does to ensure the load is balanced and clothes get clean. It takes about an hour and 15 minutes for one load on this thing, an hour and a half if you want the extra rinse cycle or have a heavily soiled option selected. Purchase was quick in store and installation was seamless. Overall a great machine, just hoping it lasts as long as our old set did. Appliances are definitely not built to last as long as they used to.

I cant say enough about this washing machine. The machine can be used as a wash tub, you fill the detergent once a month and it automatically dispenses with every wash cycle. WiFi enabled to start loads later or notify you when the loads are done.
