It wasn’t overused, I’d estimate on average over the 2 years, it was used 3-4 times a week. For a DIY, The part itself is $200-ish and hopefully you do it correctly, or you wasted the time and money. To hire someone with the experience and know how, it’s ranging between $500-$700. In the end, it would be more cost effective to just purchase a new unit since there is no guarantee replacing the part will extend the life of it for more than another year or two. I definitely would NOT purchase it again. I was under the impression that Whirlpool was a decent, long lasting product, apparently not.
