Nice dryer not as heat efficient as I had hoped

This is a great dryer with plenty of room for large items such as sheets and towels; however, I recommend using the "More Dry" or "Very Dry" settings with high heat in order to ensure that items such as towels, jeans, and sheets are completely dry by the end of the cycle. Also, the normal drying cycle is not continuous. The unit stops for a short period of time between the "wrinkle shield" and "cool down" portions of a (normal) cycle. If the cycle notification is turned to the ON position, it will buzz at the end of each step although the drying process isn't actually complete. I recommend turning the notification OFF this mode unless you don't mind your dryer buzzing every 5-10 minutes. Or simply use the timed drying mode.

We were looking for a replacement that would be simple to use, as this purchase was for an elderly family member who does not deal well with electronic displays. Auto dry, timed cycle & fluff offer sufficient choice without being overwhelming. Drop-down door is nice for keeping clothes from falling on the floor. Does a nice job on clothing. Overall, she's very happy with this dryer!

Love the new dryer! It gets everything dry the first time. The drum is quite large so it holds a lot. We are very happy.

The size of this dryer is what attracted me to it. It can swallow blankets ans bedspreads and still get them dry. May not have all the cycles of some others, but how many are really necessary?
Dries quickly and quietly. Be sure to check your outlet at home to buy the appropriate plug if setting it up yourself.

I purchased this dryer a few months ago because ours stopped working and it’s been a wonderful experience. It has a large capacity that easily fits our king size comforter and sheet set. It offers a variety of drying levels, an easy to clean tray to get rid of the lint, it’s energy efficient and it dries everything the first time around. My family loves this dryer and it gets used almost daily. We’ve had no problem in the few months we’ve had it and bought the matching washing machine a couple of weeks ago. I can honestly say that this is the best set we’ve ever owned. I definitely recommend checking this set out. It affordable and more importantly, it does what it’s supposed and does a great job at that !

Our long in the tooth fancy shmancy front load Whirlpool Duet dryer finally bit the dust due to a control board issue. The replacement board for that one cost as much as this new dryer, so we opted for basics and no more control boards. And anyway, we rarely used half the features available on the fancy dryer. If we didn’t like this one we could always donate it and get a fancier one. Well, let me tell you, that’s not going to happen. This dryer has flat out exceeded our expectations! We are still in awe as to how quick it dries our clothes compared to our older Duet. The door opens from the top and acts as a shelf which is a nice feature. The drum is nice and roomy, and it dries our comforters in record time. The light lights up the interior nicely. It has 14 cycles (really?) and doubt we’ll find the need to use half of those! Look, it’s easy to get caught up reading reviews on dyers that have a gazilloin features you’ll probably never use. and colors you really don’t need or will care about years down the road. We don’t NEED misters, or steam, or shoe racks (never used mine the entire time I owned it and it only took up space), or stainless steel drums, Don’t get caught up in the marketing hype. We are very happy with this purchase, the dryer has plenty enough room for us empty nesters. It’s not as heavy as the Duet and perhaps just a bit noisier, but performance wise, it beats the Duet which I paid almost three times as much for, hands down. We are very pleased with this dryer, and we didn’t spend much for it, Bang for the buck, Made In The USA, and Whirlpool quality, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better deal. I can hardly wait for the front load Duet washer to break down so I can buy the matching top load washer to this one. My mother-in-law is still raving over hers (which I also reviewed). Oh, and good bye and good riddance control boards!

Get the right power cable, simple connection watching the steps on YouTube, easy to lift(pretty light) and installed where the old one was, plugged it in, set it to our usual timed cycle, the buzzer was a reasonable sound we could hear across two room length and was surprised that it dried perfectly on one cycle and my wife loved how all the clothes came out wrinkle free and super dry. We’re happy and hope it last as long as our previous fancy GE. Buy Whirlpool!

So nice to have a dryer that does its single job well - dry clothes. So many appliances have complex features that are rarely if ever used. I don't need an internet connected or AI dryer! It is simple and it works well. Very happy with it.

Decent Dryer, But Not Exceptional

This Whirlpool dryer gets the job done, but it’s nothing to rave about. The AutoDry feature is convenient and helps prevent over-drying, but I’ve noticed it sometimes leaves heavier items slightly damp. Capacity is solid for a standard household, and it runs fairly quietly. Build quality feels average—definitely not flimsy, but not premium either.

Upgraded to this Whirlpool 7 cubic foot 14-cycle dryer from a 15 or 20 year old GE dryer. This dryer is so easy to operate and I appreciate the new features, especially the wrinkle free mode, where the clothes come out dry and wrinkle-free without being hot, and the door that opens down making loading and unloading super easy. The Best Buy associate at the Ingram store was very patient answering my questions and very helpful in matching prices with Home Depot. The dryer was delivered on time by a contract company, not Best Buy, and the delivery and installation went very quickly.
