Pleased Despite Delivery and Manufacturing Flaws

The product itself would have received 5 stars, but when my air conditioner arrived, it had a 1.5" to 2" dent on the back left side back corner and a few fins were bent. Also, the screw holes needed to attach the top window channel and the accordion surround were not drilled. Luckily we were able to engineer a workaround to complete the installation. As a result of the damage and manufacturing flaws, the Best Buy Corporate Office was willing to work with me to resolve my concerns without having to uninstall and return the product. The unit itself meets all my needs thus far and fits nicely in the window opening; with very little room to spare.

A beyond expectation performance and quality. Cools three rooms and a kitchen with ease. Power consumption has been mostly unnoticeable in our billing. Nothing negative to add which is the most wonderful thing I can say.

This is the best working air conditioner of the 3 I experienced recently (I returned the GE 700 sq. ft. model and I have the Amana in another room). The Whirlpool cools very well and is quiet enough to be able to watch the television with it on. I'm very pleased with this purchase as I feel I will successfully survive the next heat wave.

This air conditioner exceeded my expectations. Mine sits perfectly in my living room window of my 16ft x80ft mobile home, and I use a portable metal fan in each of the three bedrooms to help circulate the cold air throughout my entire home, keeping the thermostat on 72 degrees and "Eco" setting and clean the filter regularly. Results whole home cold comfy.

It was not an easy install but so far it works great. I could not have installed this without help. It has been running constantly since it was put in and I am pleased with the results.

I figured how many BTUs we would need for the space we wanted to cool. Also figured we would need to screen off rooms. Surprise! The air conditioner cooled our whole lower floor. No need to block off any rooms.

Shipping was quick, but Best buy should have a longer return window, especially for large appliances, such as air conditioners. A two-week return window doesn't suffice.

    Powerful unit, nightmare to install

Horrible design. I took off only 1 star for the below reasons because the units effectiveness is very good, installation is horrible. You have to unscrew the AC from the cabinet, then pull a 135 pound unit that's tightly fit in a cabinet out. then screw in the side mounts for the accordion flaps and even the top rail. However, the screw holes are too big for the screws on the top rail so it rocks. Yet this is the main piece holding it in your window. You then mount the cabinet in the window. Then after sliding the 135 unit back in ( I am 70 yrs old) the accordion slides are pushed in so close together you cannot get to the top 2 cabinet screws which actually would have secured the top rail. My windows are a standard normal width. The outside supports are really small and pretty much useless. I likely will have to fix a 2x4 from the unit to the ground for support. All I could think was, thank goodness we do not live on the second floor, they do not make 2x4's that long. There is no reason the top rail and side slide mounts could not be installed at the factory. They are thin and would not interfere with packaging. If the reason is so you can bolt the support brackets to the bottom. Have holes punched in the cabinet with nuts welded on the inside of the holes. End of problem. Then it would be ...slide the accordions in and put it in the window. Seriously not rocket science

    AC

The instructions to install the unit in the window was very confusing the instructions to operate the AC buttons and the remote control are also very confusing. I have had other window units before that we’re not confusing this AC for me has too many options to choose and if you choose certain options you cannot change the temperature or change the fan speed very frustrating
