I absolutely LOVE my new Whirlpool dryer!!! My son bought this dryer for me this past summer because my old dryer just stopped drying. It had gotten so bad that I couldn't run it at all & had to put three fans in my laundry room to act as my dryer. I had to hang ALL of our clothes - socks, underwear, etc out of the washing machine on clothes racks & makeshift clothes lines in the laundry room. I then had to position each fan to the best speed & make sure they were setup to reach all of the wet large loads of laundry for three people plus linens & everything else. Unbeknownst to me - my 18yr old son saved up money from his summer job & surprised me by telling me that he was buying me a new dryer! I'm on disability & have a fixed income. It's barely enough to cover basic living costs & necessary household bills. We did some online research and found that the Whirlpool had just everything we needed, and Best Buy was the store that had the best price, ratings & customer service. I love my Whirlpool dryer! It has so many features that I must have plus some!!! My absolute favorite thing is the energy preferred cycle!. No matter which of the 13 settings and 5 heat cycles - from extra delicate to heavy duty - the specific needs of the garments, towels, blankets, etc, drys everything completely & with the special energy saving setting, it doesn't take long at all to thoroughly dry everything!!! And it is so much more quiet!!! Every dryer I've ever had, no matter the brand or price - have taken at least twice as long to dry & many times, no matter what setting or type of material - were still not completely dry & had to be run again! It increased my electric bill & caused so much frustration & stress, especially when you need everything dry to get dressed and be somewhere on time! My new Whirlpool dryer is so much efficient! I can select one of the many settings & heat levels necessary for the type of material. I always set it to the Preferred Energy Saving dry cycle & have always had everything come out perfectly!!! I have never had to run it a second time for anything!!! It works so well that it truly does perform as the above description states: "Every load is evenly dried with the AccuDry sensor drying system that measures moisture and temperature levels to avoid overdrying your clothes. 13 cycles and 5 temperature options offer versatility for a wide variety of fabrics." The Wrinkle Guard option keeps your clothes wrinkle free if you forget to take out the load when it's done (as I often do!) and not worry about everything being wrinkled when you are able to get to it! Here is another description from Whirlpool about this dryer that is spot on! "Help prevent damage caused by overdrying and spend less time in the laundry room with the Whirlpool® 7.0 cu. ft. high-efficiency electric dryer. It evenly dries loads the first time with the AccuDry™ sensor drying system by measuring moisture and temperature levels. Two built-in sensors help the dryer automatically stop the cycle when the load is dry, so this Whirlpool® top load dryer uses less energy than those equipped with the AutoDry™ system."

Our dryer unexpectedly quit working, so my husband and I set out to by a used washer/dryer set. After much disappointment with the used selection and realizing we could pay a little more and get a much nicer NEW set, we decided on this one. It was on sale for the same price at three different stores that we went to. Best Buy gave us the best customer service, and gave us an even better deal than the sale price! The dryer is excellent! Our old dryer needed two full cycles to dry our clothes and only had two heat settings. This one has a ton! The only time that we need to put it on more than one cycle is if we are drying an extra large load of bulky clothes such as jeans. I also typically keep in on the medium heat setting, which can take a little longer than if it were on high heat. But I feel like my clothes will last longer with the lower heat setting. My old dryer would get so hot that my clothes would come out with almost a burnt smell, and you couldn't even tell they had been washed. With this dryer, my clothes still smell like the fabric softener when I get them out! If you put away the clothes right after they are done drying, then typically the clothes are wrinkle free. But if you are like me and put off folding, then you may find yourself with wrinkled clothes. But that's okay because I can throw them in the dryer with a damp cloth on the high heat setting and most wrinkles come right out. This is great since I hate ironing! All in all, it is a nice, efficient dryer that is not too over the top with its settings. It is great for my family's needs! The only thing that keeps it from being perfect is that it doesn't fold the clothes after it drys them!

As it is only my husband and myself, when we found ourselves in need of a new dryer, I researched and quickly determined that we didn't need all the bells and whistles that many current models offer. So, we narrowed down our options to three or four models, ultimately settling on this Whirlpool Cabrio model from Best Buy where we found the best price for it. Best Buy delivered the dryer to us a week later. After installing it, the dryer passed the inspection of the delivery men, but with my first load an hour or so later, it sounded like a load of rocks was in the dryer instead of the four towels I was drying. Despite the noise, the towels did get dry. I tried another load, thinking that somehow the dryer needed a breaking-in period; again, the dryer sounded awful. I checked the leveling of the legs; they were slightly out of level, so when I tried to pull out the dryer to adjust the legs, I noticed that the front right end of the top of the dryer was loose -- I could get my index finger between the top and the body of the dryer. We tried running the dryer once more, this time with a small load of whites. This time, the noise was even louder, sounding like a rocket blasting off. We decided to stop using the dryer because it seemed as if the noise was getting worse with each load. So, on the same day that it was delivered, I called Best Buy to report the problem. Once I described the problem and the actions we'd taken, I was offered the opportunity to have another new dryer of the same make and model delivered and this one taken away, free of charge. I readily accepted this option, but I had to wait a full week for another dryer to be delivered to us. The second one was successfully delivered and I am happy to say that it works beautifully (and much more quietly!). So, despite the disappointment with and frustration of having a "clunker" delivered to us initially, we were very impressed with the way Best Buy handled the problem.

Bought this as a combo with the washer. I have always regarded Whirlpool has quality items and the made in America sticker doesn’t hurt either. About two months ago I put in a load to dry on the timed dry cycle for 30 minutes. I was busy with other household chores and when I finished went to get my laundry ( almost an hour later) I discovered the dryer had not shut off and the timer hadn’t moved from it’s 30 minute mark I placed it at. I reached out to Best Buy where we purchased the item and found out since it was outside the 1 YEAR parts warranty (BY 3 MONTHS) I would have to diagnose and fix the issue myself. We did not purchase the extended warranty due to the fact that the previous unit we owned had lasted almost 15 years and worked like a charm but had fallen ill to the same issue. To purchase a brand new unit and have it go bad in just over a year was very disappointing. I expected better but should have known. Lesson learned I will not purchase another Whirlpool appliance moving forward. I think it’s ridiculous they don’t offer support for a household appliance for more than 1 year. It just doesn’t set a good “We stand behind our products” feeling.

I came to Best Buy knowing how much I wanted to pay for a new dryer. My motto is Never Pay Full Price, I ALWAYS shop around, and check online first! I saw this dryer online through the Best Buy website, it was in their clearence, section. I wanted to actually see it first hand before making the purchase. When I arrived at the store, sales people warmly greeted me, and asked if I neede any help, I said that I wanted to know where your clearence items were, a young sales clerk escorted me over there, I knew what I wanted and what I was looking for ahead of time, and I still had a few questions about the product and how did it compare to some other dryers that were already sitting there also. The young sales clerk, proceeded to try his hardest to convince me that I need a brand new dryer, and I would be better off with new! finally I was so mad, I told him, that I did not want to pay the full price for a new dryer, and if Best Buy doesn't want to sell their scratch and dent clearence items, than they should not put them on their web site! I was so mad, and I almost left the store! He promptly left me alone! Anyway I went to the counter and explained that I wanted to buy the dryer, and the sales clerk was friendly and made sure the sale went smoothly. I think this young man should be a car salesman, he would probably do much better! That kind of salesmanship, does not sit well with me! I love the Dryer, it performs exactly as expected, I really don't care about the small scratches and dent, does not matter to me whatsoever, it's sitting in my basement! Who cares what it looks like as long as it gets the job done!

I recently moved and needed to get my own washer/dryer. I looked around and decided on Whirlpool. This dryer is large enough to handle anything I would need and more. The settings took a bit of getting used to. Especially the sense settings. This is the first dryer I've used that accurately dried an entire load of mixed clothing/towels. Normally, a towel or pair of thicker pants (jeans..) would still be wet. It can be quite annoying, but not with this dryer. I've done many loads and have only used the sense settings. I'm happy to admit that everything has left the dryer dry on one cycle. The only negative I have is not the fault of the dryer. Where my dryer outlet is prevents me from having the washer and dryer neatly next to each other. I have about 1.5 feet between them. I made this work by putting a waste can in the space. Gotta do what you gotta do. Buy this dryer if you want a well made, and great running dryer.

I am 36 and have had a few dryers over the years. This is the only one that has not lasted longer than what it should have. after about 8 months before the seal to the door started fraying causing metal fibers to come off into our clothing. Due to Best Buy coming out and having to order the seal, then having to order the glue then a new door it took a month to replace. Here it is 2 months after that and the new seal is also fraying. Yes my patient readers. I have only had it 11 months now total and the seal has been replaced once and even the second seal has frayed. They are coming in two days to look at again. Oh joy I can’t wait to see what they say now. Do not buy this dryer. I ordered online and did not look at the store. I will actually go to the store next time to inspect and make sure it does not have the same seal.

Bought new washer & dryer & all new connections & install from Best Buy. Dryer quit working & burning smell. Referred to Whirlpool repair service, quickly serviced dryer & found loose power cord in back of dryer, which was installed by Best Buy. Entire wiring harness burned & needs replaced. Whirlpool does not cover cost of new power cord, since I purchased from Best Buy. Visited store in person & called customer service, only to be told no, it's been past 90 days. At least another week until dryer will be repaired & Best Buy won't even be reasonable & cover the $19.99 power cord they sold & installed poorly. $19.99 power cord unfortunately is going to cost Best Buy a longtime & frequent customer.

PROS: Efficient heating Temp options Quiet Low energy consumption Nice size drum CONS: Controls are VERY imprecise Controls are less quality than the device itself Impossible to set time for say 22mins - knob does not allow anything better than a 10 min range - such as approx 20-30mins, but not 20-25mins - that preciseness is impossible 10mins or less is impossible to attain Alarm only rings once - doesn’t repeat to remind you or if you didn’t hear the first and only Does not come with sweater or delicates rack I would recommend if these negatives are not important to you as the drying function and temp options are nice but the controls are VERY poorly engineered A Mercedes with dumptruck steering.

Simple to use, very effective, very attractive, I have had problems with the registration however, my photo of the registration card is not readable (according to PhotoRegister), when asked to text the registration number I get the same message back about the photo. When using the registration by phone service, I waited for 15 minutes only to finally be told that my wait would be 18 minutes. I still have not been able to register the product. I am very busy with no time to waste. However, I am very satisfied with the dryer itself.

My husband bought this dryer, as I was out of town when our old one broke. He liked the simplicity of it, although he is the one that rarely does the laundry. I have been spoiled by our old one I guess, but I hate that the wrinkle release is 90 mins!!! Who does that? I hate that it does not have a dry sensor and I wish it had more drying options, other than jeans, delicates, and timed dry. The problem is with timed drying is you are "guessing" at how long it will take for your clothes to dry. The dryer does not take the clothes from hot to warm to cool down to avoid the wrinkles. If you like a plain, simple, no frills dryer, that dry your clothes and uses more electricity because you can't determine how long it will take for your clothes to dry, then by all-means buy this one, but for $20 more, I could have gotten one with all the bells and whistles mentioned above. This should have been in the $250 range, not $450 on sale!!

    Paint in Drum Peeling

Purchased November 2015. Less than a year later and the paint on the inside of the dryer drum is already peeling off in large spots. I have noticed more and more small holes in my clothing. Called to make a warranty claim and they say this is "cosmetic" and does not affect performance. Paint is there to protect from rust and to protect clothing from excess heat. I fail to see how the paint is "cosmetic" only. I WILL NOT buy another Whirlpool product.

Just as is the case for most new appliances they just don’t seem to hold a candle to any of the older appliances. We replaced our 25 yr old GE dryer with this Whirlpool model. The GE was still working fine but the wife thought the new one was needed so I bought it. The first full load of laundry she set the timer for 45-50 minutes thinking that since it’s new it will dry clothes faster. She was wrong.... the timer on the GE model only went to 60. The timer on the Whirlpool model goes to 90. Not sure of why. Besides the wrinkle guard but it doesn’t dry any better than our old GE. It’s a dryer and that’s about it!

Last dryer by the same manufacture lasted two decades and this one looked much like it so I expected much the same, which was fine as the previous one was a good dryer. This new model, however, exceeds the old. There are more options for specific drying needs. There is a light inside and that has made a nice difference as the drum is deeper. Especially like the Wrinkle Shield at the end of the cycle can be up to 90 minutes and is NOT continuous. It runs a few minutes then stops for a couple minutes thes starts tumbling again, saving energy and somehow leaving less wrinkles than the old one dryer did. Finally, on even the low heat setting, which is clothing friendly, it dries faster and just how I set it. I would buy this one again without any hesitation.

My husband bought this dryer when I was out of town and ours broke. It was the third time in five years that our Samsung dryer had broken and so my husband stated that he wanted a "no frills" dryer and that is what we got. If that is you, then this dryer is for you. I, on the other hand, like having different settings, like having my dryer turn off when my clothes are dry, and the wrinkle release should be no more than 20 mins. This one is 90 mins! I hate where they put the lint filter. When you remove it, the lint goes everywhere and makes a mess. The only thing I like about this dryer is the opening, which is large, and the large capacity to dry a lot of jeans. If I were with my husband, we would have never purchased this dryer.

We bought our whirlpool Cabrio dryer about two years ago and seemed like a nice dryer up to a week ago when the idler pulley locked up and burned up the belt. When I tried to go into it to fix it it was very difficult to get into we wound up replacing it with an LG dryer. I am truly disappointed with Whirlpool appliances when we build our new home we furnished it with Whirlpool appliances going by the reputation of the older ones we were sadly mistaken we've been in our home now 10 years and we've already replaced all the appliances that was Whirlpool due to them not holding up and just breaking their quality has went down hill and I would not recommend Whirlpool appliances

This is the first dryer I have ever bought. After reading many reviews for multiple units we settled on this one. We didn't need anything fancy just something simple. So the price was spot on for what we wanted. When we first got it we were having problems with it taking forever to dry. I got on Best Buy's website and looked up trouble shooting ideas. I read that it could be that the dryer vent is to long and has 90 degree instead of 45 degree turns. So, long story short we had re connect what Best Buy installed when they came out and there was a kink in the vent house. So, just make sure you check the house before the installers leave your house. Once we re connected and shortened the vent hose it has been drying big loads in in les then 70 minutes.

So far I've found that this dryer works very well and I enjoy the features that it has. I especially like the door that opens in such a way that it makes a kind of shelf that actually makes retrieving laundry out of a dryer a little easier for those of us with bad backs. I like that everything comes out dry and that there's a feature to make sure that the laundry unwrinkled if the time has expired and it takes you a little bit longer to get the laundry out. For the relatively price, you get these nice little features plus nice capacity. I'd definitely recommend it.

Item was purchased to replace a similar Kenmore dryer that though just out of warranty failed repeatedly, (burned / triggered temp sensors which resulted in hi heat or no heat when operating) grew weary of working on the Kenmore. Purchased the Whirlpool from open box / scratch dent area. Unfortunately when delivered I discovered that unit had been banged up badly at bottom.....dropped? The mount areas for the screw in nylon leveling feet were mashed / dented / distorted and the bottom and rear cover were dented / distorted. I did not return it, opted to repair it myself which was quite an undertaking and it is not pretty but works well....so far no failures like it`s Kenmore sister.

We purchased this dryer to replace a similar Whirlpool dryer we had for about 12 years. This dryer has all the important features such as the drying sensor, multiple temperature settings and wrinkle guard. It also has the hamper door so clothes don't fall on the ground when loading or unloading. We were surprised how few dryers have this style of door but I think it is great. It does make it a little harder to reach the clothes in the back when done. We've had the dryer for about a month and we do about 15 loads a week. It dries clothes very fast. We love it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is it is a little louder than I expected for a new dryer
