    We just bought a new fridge and this is the filter it requires. So far works fine and water tastes good. Its reccomended that you run 4 gallons through and discard before drinking. That reduced the filters life by 8%...so not sure how long its going to last.

    Excellent filter. Was easy to replace and no issues. I thought of getting a generic because of price but a lot of the reviews made it not worth the hassle. Better off getting what is made for it.

    Never had a fridge filter soooo easy to replace. Just pull down drawer quarter turn the filter counterclockwise pull out old cartridge and put new one in its place turn clockwise till arrows line up lift drawe panel back up and you're done! Couldn't be easier,

    Love my whirlpool fridge! The black ice series uses this filter. Filtration system provides better water than the pitcher filters, and I have tried them all. I resort back to my fridge every time because the water tastes better according to our household vote.

    Some water filters are difficult to replace. The result being that they don’t get replaced when needed. This filter can be changed in a couple of minutes which means you will be more likely to change it when necessary.

    This filter is fine. The water coming out of the refrigerator tastes good. There is nothing wrong with the filter either. The only reason I gave it 3 instead of 5 stars is the price. I fail to see why this filter needs to be $50. I wish there was a Best Buy version for cheaper. Perhaps in the future there will be.

    Buying genuine parts for the refrigerator available from where you purchase the appliance is time saver and guaranteed to fit. Tried a recommended generic brand and it would not install although claimed to be compatible.
