We have owned several (on our 4th one) KitchenAid free standing ice machines. They typically do not last very long but we are hooked on the perfect ice they make. Our newest ice machine is only 5 months old and we have used the filter since day one. Hoping that using this filter will extend the machines life span. Price seems fair if it helps.

This filter is extremely easy to install and to uninstall. The only issue I had with this product was I didn't know whether to change the filter before or after the first cleaning. I looked on the box and inside the box but no true instructions. I googled trying to find more about the filter but there is limited instructions. But again it's easy to install. They are pricey and I found the best price here at best buy.

Works great in our Whirlpool ice maker. I've learned to replace it when the machine says "order" and before it turns to "replace." But that could just be our water.

The water filter for the ice maker has to be replaced every six months. Best Buy ordered the filter and called me when it arrived. It works great.
