This refrigerator replaced our previous side kick frig that IAN destroyed. A bit different BUT still a great frog.

like so many other people we designed the kitchen around the fridge and freezer. Paid under $2000 for the pair in 2008. The freezer has no problems. The refrigerator has issues with water leaking out the front because of clogging in the drain line below the defroster unit. The refrigerator has issues not holding refrigerant. I have to physically pull it out of the space which is not very fun to get to the added nipple to recharge the fridge. We leak this greenhouse gas daily apparently. we spend $90 a year on refrigerant +3 hours of time. I would replace it but everyone else has the same problems even with the newer models. Unbelievable. Maybe they should assemble them in a different country? Sad.

This sidekick came with our house new. 3 years and leaked Freon. Repair guy said these are notorious for Freon to eat through the cheap aluminum line. Replaced the evaporator. $460 bucks and week and half without the fridge. Requires that it be brought in shop. The fridge we bought 35 years ago still going strong at friend’s house. They engineer fridges now to fail. They can’t wait 25 years for us suckers to buy another one.

Works great, looks good but the door handle is different from my freezer now. Can’t afford new freezer

Broke after one year and despite having purchased the extended 5-year warranty I am still without a working refrigerator 3 WEEKS later. Horrible machine, even worse warranty and service. Do not buy - and if you do then don't get the warranty, it's worthless.

Plenty of room. Door arrangement could be better. Has same door arrangement as freezer door.

Sleek good looking design. Plenty of shelves and capacity. Easy to clean.

fit the space fro size pretty well. The reviews were not very good on this But hopefully will stay working for a long time.

We purchased these in 2012. I can give 5 stars easily on the units but I did 4 for a couple of issues. We also had compressor issues early and we were under a homeowners warranty. They came to fix one unit and figured out the second unit was headed to the same problem. It was fixed and never an issue again. My best guess is Whirlpool has made changes since. 2 years ago the refrigerator was freezing up. Service man figured it was a blocked drain and he was right. We were very lucky on that repair bc if it had been much longer the coils would of been ruined. While he defrosted the fridge he found a screw driver that was left behind during manufacturing which was blocking the drain. That did cost $175.00. Setting the issues aside I love this set. Yes, it’s pricey but the units are large and roomy. Easily cleans. Not all the nooks and crannies that so many units have. Families should have these. It’s just two of us but I love the room especially when the kids and grandkids come. Many people that see them wish they had them. Do I wish we hadn’t had issues. Yes, but I still love them.

As you can tell from all the other bad reviews, these refrigerators are poorly made and frequently break down, usually just after the warranty expires. We were "lucky" - ours stopped cooling after 11 months, so in warranty. Waited 6 weeks for a new compressor. When installed, the refrigerator was working, but has now again failed (less than 3 weeks) and Whirlpool says "We can't/won't do anything as it is out of warranty, you need to work with your third party warranty people." Talk about lousy customer service. These are expensive, pretty crappy refrigerators. BO NOT BUY ONE.

Beautiful set and Made in America. After 2 years the refrigerator went out and needed a new compressor. After 2-1/2 years that compressor went out too. The Freezer has been trouble free….. ..so far anyway. Called a Whirlpool, opened a service ticket and the certified repair service said it wasn’t worth repairing because it would just go out again. Now I’m kind of stuck if I want to keep freezer and maintain the original look. I will have to buy another refrigerator or change brands altogether. This has been a frustrating experience for sure.

I bought the whirlpool sidekicks all refrigerator and all-freezer pair in August of 2008. Since i'm on my third fridge which is now broken too. I will be buying my forth fridge since 2008. It just stops cooling after about two years (coolant leak which is not fixable). Same with all of them. The freezer has been great, however you have to keep getting the same fridge if you want it to match the freezer. Now I'm going to bite the bullet and switch brands and buy a new fridge and freezer. I will never buy whirlpool again.

Purchased this fridge as an overflow fridge in April of 2016. Plugged it in, light came on, motor and compressor came on but after 2 days, no cold fridge. the interior of the fridge never reached below 62 degrees. Figured I had a dud so I sent it back and purchased a replacement fridge two weeks later. 2nd fridge came, plugged it in, light came on but no motor and no compressor. Again, another dud...What are the odds...Had to throw away $300 worth of food. I won't buy this product again.

Manufacturer’s date is 2016, but i didnt purchase it until maybe 2018. So, I’ve had it for maybe 4 years? Within a year it had a constant rattle when running and began leaking water out the front. Quit cooling entirely a few weeks ago and i lost all my food. Cooling has come back minimally and ive had a tech out who said it’s cheaper to buy a new fridge than to repair this one. He says some metal flaked off around the cooling element and is clogging it up - and ice is building up around the unit rather than cooling the fridge. Very, very disappointed given the price.

I purchased this for the office and it works fine. I read reviews from different sites and it seemed like this one was ok. I was limited on my options because of the height. The only issue is that the door is very thick on the outside and you need some room for it to swing open. We had to leave it pulled out a little because it wouldn't clear the opening.

Worst appliance I've ever owned. We have had two of these. The first one had to be repaired after 4 years and then broke again, requiring replacement. The second lasted 3 years before it needed repaired and 3 years after repair had to be replaced. The freezer that goes with it is not much better.
