Designed by IT, not by a chef.

Bought a house with this unit. Touchscreen interface is slow and clunky. The timer is a joke .. It sounds once (a second or two) then stops. Not helpful at all if you step out of the room while it goes off. Timers should go off continuously until the dismissed. This is how to burn food often. I would NEVER touch a oven without a useful timer. Thousands for an oven and you have to buy a separate timer? And max volume is whisper quiet in a busy home kitchen. Can't comment on quality yet.

    Poor Quality and Function

I agree with the negative reviews regarding this product. As far as function, it does not work well. Steam causes the control pannel to operate incorrectly, the oven turns off on its own. The main issue however is that after a year ours began to smell. We contacted both Whirlpool and the installer and were advised by both of them that the smell was a result of the waveguide cover being glued, instead of just srewed in. We were advised by both techs that they have never seen this. To make matters worse, the microwave simply stopped working a week or two after we had it inspected. The control pannel and oven work, but not the microwave. So frustrating, this is just over a year old. To make matters worse you cannot just replace the microwave.

Over Doesn't Work after 2.5 years. Bad controls.

I'm leaving a review on here because I saw that Whirlpool has reviewed & commented on here. Same as several other reviews, we've had nothing but problems with ours. Oven will very often NOT heat up. Fan runs endlessly, but no heat. Our fix has been to flip the breaker and let it sit for several minutes. Then turn it all back on & restart the overn. But this fix is no longer working. While it not working is causing my irritation & review, I would also echo the bad buttons, screen & controls comments. You have to hit at least 4 buttons just to turn things on. The response times are rather slow. This unit was purchased for the house we bought and it looks like they went with whatever was available at the time (COVID supply chain issues) and so far, for us, it has not been a good experience. It came with no warranty and so now I'm hoping that Whirlpool will step in & help on a product that started having issues within 2 years of a professional install.

    The worst!

Was installed in our new home and has had issues from the start. Finally blew out entirely after 4.5 years. No longer under warranty and would have to replace a control panel that would cost 1,500 with labor. Do not buy.

    Nothing But Trouble

We have had this for about a year. It's a decent oven/microwave - when it works. We've had technicians out twice already - once to replace the main board because it just died, and now it won't keep the time and the microwave runs sometimes without it actually doing anything. Technician said this time it's because of a software update Whirlpool is supposedly working on. I'd recommend staying away and finding a different oven. The touch screen controls are also slow and everything takes at least 4 taps to do anything. There are better ovens out there.

    Complete Piece of Junk

This thing is a piece of trash. Between the timer going off twice every time you set it after hitting the dismiss button to the clock randomly resetting itself this thing could not be a bigger piece of garbage.

    Trying to do too much

This microwave and oven combo tries to be very sleek and sophisticated but what it boasts in function, it lacks in usability. The user interface design is poorly thought through. When the microwave cycle is done to goes back to the home screen instead of the core clock which is the expected standard on microwaves in the kitchen. The software frequently reboots if it is connected to the web. This requires you to reset the clock which is mostly just annoying. What is worse, and potentially dangerous, is if the software reboot doesnt occur and the microwave continues to run indefinitely because the timer does not cycle down. Serious Fire Hazard! The product itself is beautiful in stainless steel and the minimalist button design is enticing, but the lack of final usability thinking is a real turn off. Would recommend sticking with a unit that is tried and tested

    DO NOT BUY!

What a waste of money! We had our Whirlpool microwave/oven combo for less than 2 years and it completely shut down. It was a problem from the beginning how it constantly restarted itself and wouldn’t work for several minutes-which can be quite tricky during dinner time! Then after 2 years it doesn’t work at all. We were quoted for thousands of dollars to repair which obviously feels like a waste of money since it never really worked that well. Whirlpool was willing to give us 40% off parts or for another Whirlpool oven. Of course, this felt like a waste of money. We asked if they could apply that discount to Jenn-Air since they are all owned by the same corporation but they wouldn’t budge. We ended up buying a Bosch since the last thing we will do is purchase another Whirlpool product!
