Be prepared to buy 2 extra computer programs and must have computer to program it. 1 program is free for 6 months and the other one costs $15 for 6 mons. Then must buy both for the rest of the life of the scanr. And no return after 10 days. Must order online. No free support

He still likes to know what is going on around town, so he requested a scanner. They don't make too many home models anymore so choices are limited, but this is a very nice unit! I would recommend to any scanner enthusiast.

Great Radio Scanner!

It took a little research on both the Radio Reference website and the Whistler website, though eventually found all the frequencies and instructions needed, especially for trunking and talk groups. After that it was very easy to understand and set up! Highly recommend!!

Once downloaded into the scanner it works fine.
