It does a great job cooling a living room. Very quite as well.

I have this for 2 plus years. Still works great. Cools a large room. As loud as one would expect for a large AC unit. I like you can connect a hose to the back and drain outside- consider this as a must in a high humidity environment. High quality unit.

This works very well for a portable a/c. I have a black and decker as well and the Whytner is a much better product.

My husband and I are no longer able to get the window units in so we decided to go with the portable air conditioner. We researched online and decided on this brand based on the reviews it received. The only advantage is that it is portable and can be moved from room to room!

Very good air conditioner. Cools the whole room with ease and I have not had to empty the water catch due to the evaporation system they have.

Does not blow high or get cold enough. The piece that pulls out to put the washable filter on was hard to pull out and cracked when I pulled it out. Had small crack on the side

Easy to set-up and sends out cool air. You might need a fan if you want the cool air to reach larger areas.

Bought to replace an identical unit, which failed after only five years. All the indicator lights work on this new one (that’s an improvement), but it seems much weaker — only about half as strong as the old one. Can only bring down the temperature of the room a couple of degrees. I’d have it fixed under the (3 year) warranty, but then I’d be completely without air conditioning for the rest of the summer. Plus, I’d have to lug it to a shipper during the pandemic. I think Whynter makes the customer pay for the shipping costs, too, and this thing weighs around eighty pounds. Too bad — not a lot of other two hose portables to choose from.

My room is 224 SQ feet doesn't get cool enough wouldn't recommend

The price was good for the product. Works perfect for a 400 square foot room. I also like the dehumidifier.

Compressor only turns on for 10 minutes, then cuts off the rest of the night. Rated for 400 sq ft, but can't even handle a 250 sq foot room. Just paid for an expensive fan, will be returning.

It should cool down the bedroom faster and better. I thought that since this is a 12.000 BTU AC, I was going to get a better quality

Lasted 5 months and then no longer cooling. Compressor gets so hot I fear it may catch fire. Whynter was kind enough to offer warranty repair but I had to pay outbound cross country shipping. Rather than pay the $100+ shipping it found a new home in the dumpster. Highly recommend the geek squad insurance with this unit. Unfortunately I did not and now am out a "few" hundred dollars.

My old LG worked better than this thing for 1/2 the price. It doesn’t produce any water (which the LG had constant water flowing, as we live in a very humid climate). You only feel the cold air if you stand directly in front of the unit. Was hoping with the great reviews this thing had, it would compare similar to the LG (no longer manufactured).

TERRIBLE PRODUCT IS VERY LOUD I RETURNED ITEM WOULD ‘T BUY IT !!!

Very loud high-pitched whistles through exhaust tubing, leaks water from reservoir on floor period when unit hasn't even been running that long of a Time period even with the top drain plug removed and hose attached for constant drainage still leaks all over floor

The main reasons why I bought this unit were its efficiency (EER=12) and the noise level. I am very pleased with the performance and also the quietness. All you hear is the fans which produce a nice white noise. The compressor is extremely quiet and it's even difficult to tell if it's running or not. The unit is well design and its looks didn't compromise my conference room's appearance. I have a window behind my projector screen so I was able to hide the hoses very well. I wish the fans would idle when the unit reaches the desired temperature but they keep going nonstop. The unit also doesn't have an option to show the room temperature. All you see is the set temperature. The dual hose system does make a huge difference by eliminating the negative air pressure caused by single hose systems which forces warm air from other rooms or outside to make its way to the room you're trying to cool. This is my fourth portable AC unit and by far the very best. I am well pleased with my purchase.
