I use Linux but built a new PC for a family member. Had installation issues and through process of elimination, the Windows 10 install was missing files and corrupted. I had to go to a store and buy a USB. Then ise my wife's Win7 and create an install USB, which worked flawlessly. Terrible to pay $$$ for an overpriced operating system that comes on a corrupted USB install.

If you pc if for everything else I would recommend a linux distro. Watching YouTube, emails and surfing the net Linux is easy enough to handle those easy task. Now if you want to also play the latest gaming titles WIN 10 is a most. No work around it.

Had to get Windows 10 because of new build. Installed quite quickly with no issues. Recognized Epson Printer, Logitech keyboard/mouse, etc. Coming from previous versions of Windows, I must say that this version took some getting used to. I can say that this OS from Microsoft is by far the best OS I have ever used.

Flawless installation onto my very fast EVO 970 PRO NVme SSD. I want to say that my installation took about 12 minutes tops.
Windows 10 is the answer to the previously released Windows 8/8.1:) I have only been happy with the latest builds and updates of Windows 10. Things are very easy to find, more Cortana automation (if you like AI and automated help) perfect for gamers, designers and ideal for music and video editing. You will enjoy Windows 10

Been awhile since I have had to purchase an operating system. Gone are the days of the tired old CD. Small package with a USB and license key. Quick easy installation and if I ever have to reinstall I won't have to search for hours through every software CD I have. Windows 10 has been the best operating system windows has ever put out. Nice work Microsoft.

I used to hate Windows 10 when it first came out. I tried the free upgrade version on and off when it was available. But when it started letting me make changes to it, so it would be more like Windows 7, my opinion started changing.
I purchased Windows 10 Home recently for a new Ryzen 7 build I did and naturally with a powerful computer like this Windows 10 runs flawless. On older PC's or laptops, it runs better or at least as good as Linux OS installations. It seems that after you get all the hardware drivers updated and all the Windows Updates installed, it gets better and better.
Windows 10 is probably the best Operating System available today. A little pricey, but a very good OS.
Just remember if you buy the OEM version and you install it on a laptop, when that hardware ages or it fails, you can't transfer that Windows 10 license. On a desktop your OK, unless you change more than one part.
That's why I bought this version, so I don't have to worry about this for quite some time.

Windows has never been so easy or fast to install. I love the USB style and in less than 5 minutes I was setting up my desktop and installing updates. Every device in my ITX build was recognized and working upon startup.

I was running Windows 7 on my Asus G75V but Windows Update started having all kinds of problems. Long story short, I scrapped the SSD, bought a new one, and installed Windows 10 on it. I like it. I'm usually more of an old-school type (would rather run Windows 95) but I disabled all the Cortana stuff and all my legacy programs still work.

There isn't much point in reviewing Windows 10. It's better than what came before, by a lot, and you need it for touch screens -- but if you're a die-hard Windows 7 user, you aren't going to listen to me anyway.... So, just a few notes.
First, the boxes on display do not contain the USB stick. They're demo boxes. Be sure to get the real thing before you get to the checkout line -- it will save you a lot of time.
Second, it's a TINY USB stick -- smallest I can remember seeing. Too small for comfort. Be careful with it -- it once slipped out of my hands and I was afraid I'd lost or broken it.
Third, the sticks do not come with the current version of Windows 10 (although it's not the first release version, either). Before installing, be sure you have good Internet access and a lot of time. And know your transfer limits.
All that said, if you haven't upgraded yet, it really is worth doing.

I still like my Windows 7. However, some of my software (Native Instruments) was a PITA to install on 7 last time, due to software upgrades. Soo, Win10 for my main music thrasher.
Yes, Microsoft wants to play big brother and copy Apple gestapo. However, there are ways to get around a lot of the forced updates/privacy issues..Do a bit of google search or talk to your nerd friends. Highly suggest doing the updates in your own time as Microsoft loves to break your machine with their "updates"
Feels a bit more streamlined then 7, ie, I don't have to dig quite as hard to find certain system bits as I did with 7.
however, 7 or 10..they both work.

The Terror of Windows 10

After trembling in fear each time a friend mentioned moving up to Windows 10, I experienced a Hard Drive crash and since I did not have the original CDs for Win 7, I opted to have Best Buy install a new version of Windows 10. I have been using it now for about a month and for the life of me, have found nothing bad about it so far. I admit I am using a 'Windows 10 For Beginners' book but have not had to reference it, except to remove the apps that I did not want on the program. If any of you have the same terror that I did about Windows 10, let all of that go. It's there in the background, helping when you want it to. I'm happy I begrudgingly made the transition.

Basic OS for Windows

This purchased OS of Windows Home is a lot easier than trying to get it from Microsoft. Besides the certificate of license that is required to register your computer, it comes with a bootable USB drive for ease of recovery. I like this better than getting a DVD copy of the OS since it is compact, convenient, and not subject to breakage like a disc is. The cost is pretty much mandated by Microsoft so there are not typically a lot of wiggle room on the price. Plus this is the HOME version. If you need to login to a local domain, you will have to get the PRO version. The price is cheaper to buy it up front rather than trying to upgrade to PRO after installing the HOME version.

I got the free update version Windows 10 update for my PC when it came out. Recently when I installed some Windows Security updates, my computer died! I had to buy the full version of Windows 10 Home version to revive my PC! Windows 10 Home installs with a USB drive. I had no problems with the installation, nor have I had any problems to date.

I built a pc for my dad and he needed a windows 10 OS. Well, this is the retail version and its something everyone should consider over the OEM version. Retail version, you can installed as many times as you like provided you only activated for one PC. Upgrade to a new PC? No problem, can still re install Windows 10. OEM is stuck on the system you got it for and that's that. Windows 10 OS works great. Its fast and I have no issue so far.

I know people generally like to complain every time a new version of Windows comes out - yes, every time a new version comes out, there’s something new to learn and something that you’ve used for years is either missing, renamed or in a different place. But that’s the price of improvement - I’ve used every version of Windows since 3.0 and Win10 is easily my favorite. It runs well, stable and easy to use. It does come with some bloat out of the box, but that’s easy to clean up.

I've never used a USB before with installing a Windows OS but the speed of which this was done via this USB 3 flash drive makes it impressively good...even better when installing to an M.2 drive.
Check your motherboard BIOS and ensure that, upon an initial build, your boot priority is set to the appropriate USB category...my MSI B450 Tomahawk took a bit of guessing to find the right one since it had multiple USB entries. Got the one it needed...on the third try. :-)

I lost the hard drive in my laptop so not only did I loose my files I also lost my drivers. I loaded Windows 10 Home and it took care of the rest. After it was completely installed every thing worked and all I had to do is go to my computers website and run a driver up date which was completed in no time.

My hard drive, running Windows 7 quit. Along with replacing the HD, it made sense to upgrade to Windows 10. I did this reluctantly, since my new laptop ran W10 and I wasn't thrilled. Well, after using it for a while, I'm happy I made the switch. The W10 platform is more modern, better integrated with my other devices, and offers more features. Turns out that I'm very happy I made the switch. EXCEPT FOR...
I use a Logitech wireless mouse. Now, my cursor moves at random times, which can drive me crazy during work. I've seen comments on W10 where people have similar issues. So far, I have not been able to troubleshoot whether it is Windows or the mouse or settings on my touch screen. Very frustrating! I sort of wish there was a 3 1/2 star rating I could give this.
