I’m pretty impressed with how quiet and efficient this thing is. It’s done a wonderful job filtering out kitchen odors in the evening time. The best part is the cute little chime it plays when you turn it on / off.

Love it very quiet. And i could feel the difference in the air quality in the my bedroom. Definitely recomend it and the price very good compared to other air filters.

This air purifier is quiet at low and, like a fan, only gets a little louder with each notch higher. High is still quiet-ish to me. Well worth putting up with some sound to clear the air. The sensor is something I trust, as it will change color when I wipe frequently touched surfaces with alcohol. It picks it up in the air! Once it clears, the color changes back. I like that you can just vacuum the pre-filter. I got this because of Covid 19, but wish I would have made this purchase a long time ago. Since I've been using it, there is visibly less dust. I'd like another one for another room. The only reason I don't rate it higher for value, is that the filters are a bit expensive.

This air purifier is amazing. I did a lot of research and finally decided to purchase this unit. I was skeptical of the auto air purifier mode included with this unit. This thing actually works!! I have this unit sitting in my living room and everytime I start cooking dinner, this thing detects the change in air quality and changes from blue to orange and ups the power. After a few minutes of filtering our the cooking smells, the air is back to blue. The auto mode will also go into sleep mode overnight and turn back on auto in the morning which is great. The unit is very quiet even when selected on the highest setting. Do yourselves a favor and stop looking and buy this unit, you will not be disappointed! I am going to buy another one of these units and place it in my second living room.

I did some research on different brands of air purifiers and compared prices . I needed two and the Winix tower was on sale at Best Buy . I was amazed at the difference they made just a few hours after I turned them on. I have springtime allergies and I couldn’t open my windows to get fresh air cause my allergies got worse, but my husband smokes in the house so it stinks and opening the windows helped . I was ashamed for anyone to come in because of the cigarette smell . We also have a dog . Wow , what a difference , the cigarette smell is gone , my allergies have calmed down . I checked my filters today and they will need to be changed sooner than recommended I’m sure but it just proves they are working . I’ve already bought two new ones and ready for when they are needed. Shop around. The filters are a little pricey , but Amazon has them for the best price. My husband thought I was wasting my money when I told him I’d bought the purifiers and now it’s the first thing he turns on when he gets up in the morning. I’m 100% satisfied , so glad I bought them. Just hope I haven’t jinxed myself by bragging so much.

I received this item on time. It is easy to operate. The remote control works well. It is quiet up to #3 fan speed, but quite loud on #4 speed. The sucking power seems pretty weak, although a lot of air coming out from the back. And the air quality indicator light is blue all the time. Does it mean the air is clean in the room ? I’ll check the dust on the furniture next week .I have tried it only for 3 days so far . I will update the product later.

did a lot of research before i ended up getting this air purifier and im glad i did .... setting it up was very easy, the manual was very easy to follow... performance wise, i am happy with it.... i applied some hand sanitizer on my hands and the filter detected it right away, and i was about 8 feet away from the machine.

The unit is perfect for my studio which is 300+ sq. ft. It operates quietly and the remote control is a bonus incentive for purchasing it. Also the slim profile is a great design element. The cost of the replacement filters are overpriced in my opinion but there are solutions online as I have discovered.

Easy to use, very quite. Noticed less dust right away. Would easily buy again. It notices bad air quality right away.

We are first time buyers of an air purifier, and boy did we luck out on this one. It has made a noticeable difference, especially during this hot and humid summer. Our AC fan usually runs constant and not just when the AC is on, which helps reduce humidity in the house and any mustiness. But when we go on vacation, we do put it on auto so it only runs when the AC runs. This time we also had the air purifier running and when we got home, not an inkling of mustiness at all. Very happy with this purchase and with the price. Now looking for a bigger one to cover more space so that this one can be placed upstairs. Great buy!

It’s worth the money. You don’t have to break the bank to replace the filters too often and you can simply wash or vacuum them except the one closest to the unit. I love that it has several modes and a remote. Just wish there was dimmer switch for lights on it.

The best choice I ever made, it does its job very well. I left some pictures to show what it did in just 5 months. If you know what the filter looks like new then your see it.

Best air-cleaner we’ve experienced, so far! Waking up with markedly clearer sinuses and less sneezing during the day. The only problem I am having, is moving it back and forth between our bedroom and living room. Decided we’ll order another one to solve that and probably an additional one for our daughters bedroom. Affordably priced and would recommend It to others.

I was fortunate enough to be able to purchase this while it was on sale and I’m so glad I did. Both me and my boyfriend have noticed a tremendous difference in our allergies and breathing. I’ve also noticed that any weird lingering odors we have tend to go away after running the air purifier for a few hours a day. I bought this in august of 2021 and I have not had to buy any new filters for it yet. Possibly because I do clean and maintain the reusable ones. I would recommend this air purifier over other brands and models.

This model is the second Winix purifier in my house, after buying the 5300-2. The difference between this model and the 5300-2 is their carbon filters. This model has the washable carbon filter where the 5300-2 has 4 replacement ones. But both are interchangeable since the 5300-2 & 5500-2 are pretty much identical. This purifier is one of the best out there for this price point and happy I snagged it for a discount. Only gripe is that the remote that comes with this didn’t have a battery included. Other than that, I’m very satisfied and definitely recommend any air purifier coming from Winix.

Wow. I love this so much I bought a second one for my house to help with wildfire smoke and construction dust during a remodeling project. My youngest son also liked it and bought one for his house. It is quite and you can turn on or off the plasma wave feature. HEPA filter gets the fine particulate out of the air. It has a sleep mode and multiple setting. Generic replacement filters are easy to get. I advice setting up the drain system from the beginning, which will require you to place it on a small stand.

I love this! This gives me a great peace of mind during the COVID-19 pandemic we are living. Having a HEPA filter on this gives me a more confidence that of keeping the air clean. It also is of high quality, and I think easy to move from room to room. I also have a dog who I'm sure brings a more then I know into the house after being outside. If you have concerns about air quality, this having the HEPA filter I thought was a great buy and quality product.

Been using a few smaller units in my apartment for years. Thought I would upgrade to this unit to try to declutter a bit. Glad I did! Love the auto function and the colored LED so I can easily see what the unit is up to. Runs super quite as well. Very easy install and the control panel is very intuitive. Only knock might be the cost of the replacement filters, rather steep. That said, mine is brand new so I'll have to see how long this filter lasts before I pass judgement on that.

This air purifier is easy to operate and works very well to remove foul odors and particles from the air. It is light weight and has a carrying/lifting handle at the top. It takes in air from the front and sides and pushes out clean air from the top. It has 4 speeds and runs quietly on speeds 1 thru 3. At speed 4 the fan noise is a bit louder and noticeable. Overall I love this unit because it works as intended.
