The best AC blower I've used!

Worx has been around for a while now, but this is the first time I’ve actually gotten to use one of their tools. A couple of friends have both said Worx made really good stuff. This blower is pretty good stuff. I think for the style of tool it is, it may be near perfect. It is lightweight and feels quite sturdy in a long-lasting plastic kind of way that was quite common in the 80’s or fold us old folks, it reminded me slightly of Tupperware from when I was a kid. Plastic, but indestructible dishes- I of course would not say this guy is indestructible, I just wanted to say they used good plastic. The blower has a variable speed thumb control, which is useful around the house especially, as it will blow leaves out from behind some of the more fragile plants without whipping them around like my gas weedwhacker attachment blower I’ve been using for years. There is nearly zero vibration in the handle when it’s running, anywhere in the speed range, very smooth. It’s also quiet! I know saying a blower is quiet is an oxymoron, but I think this is literally about as quiet as an AC electric blower can be and still make useable velocity and volume to be useful. Useful it is, it has no problem blowing on concrete or asphalt, but does well in the grass as well, which my other blower does not. I think the wider nozzle must have something to do with it. My wife thought there should be a narrow, directionally adjustable nozzle also, but I managed to blow things away just fine with the wide one. Touches that make this impressive beyond most electric yard appliances? Indeed. The cord holder on the plug stub is wonderful, the length of the stub is just right in combination with the cord holder to not have a bunch of slack cord flapping around, and it is short enough to sorta keep a little pressure holding the cord in, which is quite nice. It is too small for super-thick cords. I think a 14/2 cord should fit in there well. My “big cord”, which is a 100’ 14/3, did not fit easily, but it did go into the holder with the curve, and held well. If your extension cord is more than 25’, make sure it is at least 14ga, this tool draws 12 Amps and needs the bigger cords, it runs rather poorly (and unsafely, I might add) on lower gauge cords, the voltage drop is too much, and the blower can’t get to speed. The hole on the far rear underside of the motor housing is great for hanging on the wall with just a fat nail or little hook like I found in my shed, very nice. One other touch I found great is the design of the guard at the backside of the motor. I noticed it’s really good at not sucking up clothes. They do get stuck on there, but as I was watching my wife blowing off the driveway, I noticed her shirt got stuck to about 1/3 of the back of the tool, and it kept working fine, not going into the super loud “blocked intake” noise I’ve heard on others, and it didn’t snag or cause any fuss, it’s a good design. Fully recommended.

In a few words, this corded blower is indeed powerful. What’s even better was that it was easy to set up. No time is needed fiddling around with instructions on how to start this guy up. Once it is built, you are pretty much ready to go. The unit is lightweight too so anyone should be able to use it. However, a minor issue is that you will need to supply your extension cord. But these days, most will have an extension cord lying around so it is not much of an issue. Fall hasn’t completely hit the trees around my home completely yet but there were plenty of leaves that were beginning to settle on the ground. I used this blower to collect these leaves in a single pile. The blower has multiple speeds and the last one certainly packs a punch. You will feel a kickback that can be hard to control if you don’t have a good grip on it. Another area I used this blower on was for the grass clippings/debris on the sidewalk and garage after mowing the lawn. At the lowest speed, this does a good job of clearing all that debris up. I also was able to use this to quickly dry my vehicle after a wash to prevent those pesky watermarks. I would’ve loved to test this out with some snow but that will need to happen later this year when the snowy season arrives. It does get loud too so I certainly recommend some form of hearing protection. Overall, this is an excellent corded blower. I have yet to find any problems with it and after having used it for a bit, I am confident this will last a while. Again, this packs a punch on the highest setting so be prepared to have a good grip and proper foot placement, otherwise you’ll fly away! If you are looking for a blower and don’t mind the cord, I do recommend you give this corded blower by WORX a chance!

This corded blower from WORX is insanely powerful. I've had battery and gas blowers in the past. They were good, but not this good. My recent gas powered blower (that quit earlier this year) from a major name didn't come close to matching the power of the WORX. And with it being electric, no gas or oil to mess with. Also, no cord to pull to get it going. It is pretty lightweight for what it is. Feels as durable as any other blower. Operation is as simple as it gets. One switch to turn it on and adjust the power. On full blast, it seriously feels like it wants to jump out of your hands. It's like a hurricane in your driveway. Now it is what it is so I can't say that it's quiet. But compared to a gas blower it is much quieter. The fact that it is corded is both a plus and a minus. On the minus side, you do need a nice long outdoor extension cord so it's not as convenient as a cordless or gas blower. But, the fact that it is corded allows for the incredible power. A battery blower can't match it and if it did the battery probably wouldn't last very long. If you are like most and need a blower for cleaning up your driveway and sidewalks, this will most likely be perfect for you. I would only consider something cordless if I needed to use it far from an outlet.

There is nothing special about this blower. It would be ideal for small, simple tasks in a rather small yard. Don’t really feel it’s worth the price, but it IS an option to consider, particularly if it’s on sale.

Dramatically More Powerful Than My Old Wired One

This thing is a monster, in a good way. It looks great, feels, great, and has solid build quality. It does not require a tool to assemble. You just click together two separate pieces. There is a hook on the back if you want to mount it. The power cord itself has an attachment that lets you wrap the two cords together to prevent them from unplugging when walking around the yard that worked well for me. It is relatively lightweight at 6.6 lbs. and can be operated with a single hand. When you turn this on either mode you can feel the power behind it. I was able to hold it with a single finger when on as it practically lifts itself and it completely destroyed my other wired blower. The max setting on that one wasn’t equal to the low setting on this guy. There is variable speed control that you can reach with your thumb. But it does require a bit of oomf to move. Position 1 is low and helps you have more precision. Whereas the second position is max power (800 cfm at 135 mph) and will move whatever is reasonable. It is relatively loud (89 – 91 dB), but not earsplittingly so. I still advise hearing and eye protection when using. It being corded is a double-edged sword. Where on one hand you have clean, constant, unlimited, non-smelly power. But on the other you have slightly limited mobility due to the cord and it takes longer to setup and teardown. When you are all done it is easy to store as it doesn’t take up a whole lot of space. Honestly, I don’t have any real complaints. Great price, performance, features, usability, and feel. It comes with a 3-year warranty.

Well-balanced, lightweight (about 6 1/2 lbs.), and relatively quiet for what it does, this new WORX corded blower is very impressive. It does not have a vacuum feature, but it is aggressive in its single function. Fully assembled in the box, it is ready to use immediately. The 12-amp motor in this blower can channel air through the blower tube at a rate of 800 cfm (which is about 135 mph!) and the thumb-operated switch allows you to operate the blower at multiple speeds with the lowest speed setting generating about half of the blower's maximum rate. Cord permitting, the powerful stream from this blower works best for clearing a large area quickly (think: blowing leaves into a tarp or clearing out a wood shop). Dry leaves, dirt, and debris offer no resistance whatsoever to this WORX. My only cautionary observation is that the larger diameter of the blower tube channels the air flow so broadly that the blower tends to have some difficulty moving wet leaves and debris - though once wet items break free from the ground, they are no match for this blower. At a competitively low price, compared to other electric blowers, this new WORX model moves air at a rate that rivals costlier gas-powered blowers. Enthusiastically recommended.

The item comes in a box. It only has 2 pieces that need to be placed together. Once together, it's plug and play. First thoughts...it's small...if you are trying to get close to the ground and you are tall you will have to bend at the waist. The item is less the 36" long. It doesn't seem to have the ability to extend the attachment. With that said...it is powerful. There is a scroll knob on the handle that allows you to easily control the speed of the fan. It's powerful enough to move your hand it you are not holding tightly. I've needed a blower to use at our campsite for the grass that always seems to end up on the concrete pad...this machine had no problem even on the lower setting of blowing the grass back into the yard. It's strong enough to blow standing water off the concrete as well. It's a little loud but I don't think it's anything that would be unusable. It's not louder than a chainsaw or a gas string trimmer. The good - it's powerful and easy to handle. Its compact and light enough to not cause a lot of fatigue. The not great - I feel like it should be a little longer so you can get closer to the ground without bending over.

Wow, this thing is so powerful! I choose the corded model because I had the feeling that will be more powerful than the cordless model, and I will be able to take my time while I am blowing either dirt or drying my car after washing it, and it is way more powerful than I ever thought a blower could be. The only limitation is the length of the power extension cord you have to connect to the unit, but that doesn’t bother me at all. I found a long power cord extension and as a safety tool this unit came with a cord retainer so it will keep the extension cord connected. A blower with this kind of power is definitely more effective and worth it with a Power Cord. I love to have the liberty to spend all the time I want and not be concerned of running out of battery. It is also really light (6.6 pounds) and easy to maneuver. The setup is really easy, 2 parts to assemble, and in less than a minute after you unpack it you are ready to do the job. It has 3 speeds, and the last one, the most powerful, will push you back! The specs states that the blowing force is 24.5N at 800CFM using speeds up to 135mph!!! It has 0 Problem removing the grass, leaves, and dirt into the street, driveway and walkway. And you can use it for different purposes like drying your car, it actually does it really fast. This Blower is not too noisy. I didn’t need to use ear protection as the other ones I have used in the past. Because it is so powerful, I was wondering if it gets hot over time, but it doesn’t so it also feels safe to use for long periods of time. The Worx Blower is impressively powerful, and because of this you can use it for many other applications and it works really well and fast.

    This blower has some POWER

The Works WG 521 Turbine 800 Leaf Blower arrived and I will have to say I thought that the package was a bit small. Assembly was easy, all I had to do was install the end tube and plug in the machine. The blower has power. It has 850 CFM Flow rate and it easily will blow off the driveway leaves, grass and edging dirt even if it's windy outside. In fact, the blower has so much power that it is important not to plug it in while it's on. The unit can spin or move a little if it is not held on to. I have had success with other Works products as I own a leaf shredder and an older model Works Leaf Blower WG 510 which has 525 CFM flow rate, it has a longer tube and is much heavier than this one. Also in the past I have owned gas and battery driven leaf blower models and found that I need at least 500 DFM to effectively move material. My house is on a small hill and we get wind that will blow up the driveway and push the material back into the garage. Anything under 350 DFM was marginal at best. The leaves weren't all off the trees, still not at this time. It's Wisconsin, it will happen soon. The ones that have fallen I was able to move into piles quickly and clean up fast. The major leaf pick up is for the lawn sweeper and the leaves are used in the garden as compost. If you are not a fan of extension cords, this is not for you. This unit is corded. I will admit I am not a fan of cords, but the trade-off is the high power and flow rate of the machine. It's a 12 A at full load so I wouldn't be plugging it into a highly loaded circuit, but I have not had a problem yet. I do not regret choosing this machine, it's got great performance.

Review for WORX - WG521 12 Amp TURBINE 800 CFM Corded Blower - Black I really don’t like gas-powered leaf blowers. They’re obnoxiously loud, smell bad, and burn fuel poorly - adding to air pollution. But my battery-powered blower only gets me to the height of leaf season - then I end up raking or pulling out the old, dreaded, gas-powered leaf blower. Well, no more! This Worx corded blower takes up ALL the slack. I’ve never seen so much power from any kind of leaf blower. On low, it’s practically as powerful as the gas-powered equivalent, but on high, you can clean your yard of leaves, no matter how deep they may have gotten! Despite its power, this blower is so light. It’s easy to sweep away leaves with one hand, although, on high, there is some legit kickback from the force of the blower! But it’s easy to hold in one hand and support with the other to really get tough work done fast. I found the light weight and well-balanced design made it easy to use with either one or two hands. I thought having a corded blower would be too inconvenient compared to battery-operated, but it was easier to manage than I expected with no worries about using up the battery before the job is done. The special hook on the unit makes it easy to secure your power cord so that it won’t pull out while you’re working. I’m pretty sure I can retire my gas leaf blower now.

This leaf blower has been a big upgrade from my previous blower. While my previous corded blower has been good the past 10 years or so, I didn’t know what I was missing out on until I tried this one! The assembly is super easy and only takes seconds, only one piece to snap on. I compared air flow (more of a blast) between the two blowers, and its way higher with this Worx. It’s a little more bulky than my last one, but still was easy enough for my petite fiancé to use as well, without any issues. I really like the speed control option you can easily switch between with your thumb. Its nice not to have something running full blast, especially when its this powerful, particularly when doing small jobs. We live near a lake and the amount of spider webs and dead flies that accumulates in our garage builds up quickly. Within 2 minutes, I wiped out months of accumulated webs and bugs without having to touch anything. Even in the hard to reach areas, it blasted all the debris out and it made it look 10x better. Beats those extendable cleaning rods we use for the indoors. Move leaves and pine needles was quick work with this thing. I’m ready to tackle fall with this blower.

Just in time for leaf removal. Assembly took approximately 1 minute and the 2 pieces have a very tight fit and clicks into place. Feels and looks great, very sturdy build quality. Easy to hold but does have some weight, slightly over 6 lbs, so you may find yourself switching arms to hold the blower for longer durations. A side handle for two handle operation would have been nice to give you more side to side sweep control but its not part of this design. I used the low settings to clear the driveway and sidewalk after cutting grass. I used the higher setting to move the leaves across the lawn and lower settings to make piles. I think this would also be useful for clearing light snow from the sidewalk. There are 3 speeds and the third speed is very powerful to handle any serious debris removal. Has a nice cord lock/retainer that is part of the plug/cord which allows for independent movement and keeps the 2 plugs connected better. My prevoius blower had the cord retainer as part of the blower itself and cord constantly became detached. Overall, very happy with the performance of this blower and the price is very competitive.

Powerful, but Big and Slightly Heavy

This thing is really powerful. No problem blowing heavy and even wet leaves. It is definitely the most powerful blower I have ever used. In fact, it is so powerful that it provides a variable motor so that you can slow it down if you don’t need the full air flow. A cool feature that I have also never seen on a blower. While the blower is plastic, it does seem well built and no doubt will last a long time. The cord is very short, but has a cool bracket on the end to wind an extension cord through so that the extension cord stays plugged in. This thing is large. Not unwieldy large, but it is quite big. I would prefer something smaller, but maybe the size is necessary to obtain the power it has. The unit is also not that light. I wouldn’t say it is heavy, but definitely feels so after using it for a while. Again, probably a trade off for the power. It did not come with any types of attachments. The end of the spout is round. An attachment the would snap on and have a flat type of end would be nice. The biggest issue I have with this blower is the intake. It is on the back of the unit and pretty much the full size of the back. On many occasions it would suck my t-shirt right up against the intake. Because the suction is so strong to provide such power, and with the intake on the back where you normally would have it fairly close to your clothes, it easily sucks any lighter clothing against the intake. This was very annoying.

I simply cannot believe how powerful this blower is - fortunately it has two more speeds less forceful than the highest that may be easily selected using the same rolling switch. The highest power setting produces a small tornado of wind power. This unit arrives with the blower tube detached for more compact shipping but it is easy to attach. You will have to provide your own power cord. You should attach it using the provided loop holder in order to prevent accidental unplugging. I found the unit to be light enough with a nicely shaped grip that allowed long term use without it getting too burdensome. I don't have many leaf producing trees on my lawn, so I did not have a chance to test how well it blows leaves, but I do have lots of spider webs and the associated dead bugs on my front porch. After using this blower to eliminate all of those spiders, webs, and bug carcasses from my front porch, I had to replace the door mats that got blown away along with the detritus. I also used this blower to clean out my garage. Simply unbelievably powerful!

    Favorite New Yard Tool

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

When it was said that “the power is in your hands”, they were talking about this blower. The Worx WG521 is by far one of my favorite new yard tools. It’s very simple and pretty compact as it comes with a simple tube attachment to clip onto the fan housing, making it easy to store anywhere in your garage without making a large oddly shaped footprint. Weighing only 6.6lbs, it’s quite easy to move around for any task without causing strain. Also, it’s fully electric. The unit is rated at 12A so it doesn’t draw too much current. Also, it comes with a 3-year limited warranty. Now for the most important part, is it any good? Well, I have a gas powered leaf blower which attaches to motor body, which is almost as long as a string trimmer and at best, may be about 1/2-3/4 as powerful as this unit. The WG521 simply blows it out of the water. This unit has variable speed control which comes in super handy when you don’t want to blow something away with full force. Sometimes you only need to give leaves or debris a little encouragement to move, not propel it to the next county. So, having the ability to adjust and control the amount of output is definitely excellent. However, once you turn it to its highest setting the performance will be felt and seen. It almost feels like holding a gyroscope in full rotation as the blower pulls your arm back as it kicks out tons of air. I was extremely surprised by the output. One word of advice, don’t hold it too close if you’re wearing loose fitting clothing as the back of the fan needs to pull in air, and will pull your clothing to the back of the housing and block the opening. This is a very minor observation, If I had to pick out any downside to this item. Otherwise, I literally have 0 negative to say about it. I would recommend this to anyone in need of a good blower, whether it’s to dry your car after a wash, blowing out your gutters, tidying up after cutting the lawn, or anything else. 5 stars from me!

It's Fall, so it's the perfect time to have a new blower. This one blows me away with its powerful 135 mph (800 cfm) turbine motor. Unboxing and assembly is simple. There really is nothing to it. Comes in two pieces and they just snap together and there is only one way to put it together so you cant get it wrong. It weighs 6.6 pounds and is corded/electric so you will need an extension cord to use this Worx blower. This has a thumb wheel on the handle to adjust the speed from 70 mph up to 135 mph It's in a good spot and can be done with just your one hand. I was pleasantly surprised by the bit of kick it has when you turn it on...a good amount of force. Seems well built and sturdy. Feels good in the hand/comfortable and easy to maneuver. I have a large tree in my front yard. Once all the leaves have fallen, it usually takes a few hours and 8 large bags to get rid of the leaves. There were a few on the ground the day I received the blower, it made it easy to get them out of my yard. On the highest setting it was blowing more than just the leaves, small sticks and other tree debris was getting pushed by the force of this blower. It left my yard looking great. I cannot wait to have a yard full of leaves now that I have this. I will mow and weed whack one or two more times this year and instead of the broom cleaning the sidewalk and garage I now have this blower to do the job. The price is so good at 90.00. You need this blower if you get a lot of leaves in your yard!!

The Worx WG521 packs a punch. Does not disappoint when cleaning up your yard. There are 4 power settings. When you get the the 3rd and 4th power setting you can feel the unit blowing back showing its power. Compare to the Worx cordless leaf blower, this unit blows it out of the wate with the additional two power settings. Yes the down fall is that you will need a fairly long extension cord, but in all honesty I have found cordless options lack luster with power as well as the battery life. Running in full power barely got me 20 mins which does not do the job when you have a larger yard and or a lot of trees to take care of in the Fall season. I also used this to clear out the out my garage floors which handled the job like a champ. One thing to consider is fatigue. It is not heavy per se, but I can see a long job or people with less strength getting fatigue using the unit. The blow back pressure and the weight can add up. Perhaps a shoulder strap addition would be helpful but I think it does a great job and highly recommend.

The WORX WG521 12 Amp 800 CFM Corded Blower is the real deal. I have never used a blower with so much power prior to using this blower. Once I received the blower, I put it together, which was only one step: attach the blower tube to the blower. No tools required. You'll hear a click once it's locked in place. Next, grab a power cord and plug it into the blower. It's ready to go. The blower comes with two different levels; high and low....and low in most cases is more than enough power to blow grass clippings and leaves with ease. If you need more power, simply adjust the power button on the top of the blower to high and the blower will amp up. The box and booklet state the speed on high is 135MPH. I'm just going to take their word on that. The blower also comes with a cord retainer on the end to keep the cord from tangling up and to provide some separation between the blower and yourself. This blower is easy to use and I will be giving away my current blower now that I have made this upgrade. I highly recommend it.
