The Wyze Video Doorbell Pro is an easy to install, no-frills video doorbell that is a great value. It has most of the essential features expected from a video doorbell and offers more. Pros: Great value Easy to install Can be used both wired (with existing doorbell connection) or wireless (rechargeable battery). This makes it a very versatile solution and makes it easy to choose over other competitors Can be mounted both with screws or with included adhesive tape Comes with all the mounting hardware. For screwless install nothing is needed Horizontal wedge is included, which is a common need for installing near the front door 150-degrees “square” view offers good coverage. After adjusting the placement I was able to see almost to the bottom part of my porch which is great for noticing packages Video quality is quite good Two way audio works quite well. The speaker is small but does its job. The microphone is decent enough Chime piece works as a Wifi extender and provides great coverage. On top of this it supports both 2.5GHz and 5GHz, which is rare at this price-point. Also, there a quite a selection of interesting chimes that can be chosen Smartphone notification popped up pretty quickly Comes with cloud storage, albeit with some paywalled features Integrates well with Google Home and Alexa Cons: Only 1440 (HD) resolution Bracket feels a bit flimsy. Even with the security screw, I felt that the doorbell could be taken out without much force No local storage, everything is sent to the cloud Free tier is very limited. The Basic plan only provides snapshot, and then also has a 5-minute cooldown period which may be unsuitable for many folks. There is a CamPlus Lite with name-your-price option (so can be $0, but you have to jump through some hoops for that), which has 12-sec video clip storage but still with the 5-min cooldown period. The CamPlus plan unlocks everything Still used micro-USB port in this day and age For increased motion detection time, wired connection is needed (which enables “pre-recording”) Person and package detection is behind the CamPlus subscription paywall Does not offer selecting “zones” for motion detection, sometimes causing unnecessary alerts The Wyze Video Doorbell Pro is a good choice on a tight budget, and offers an easy to install and use setup. If local storage is not a prime concern, and the CamPlus subscription is not a big issue, this is a very good choice in the value-for-money segment. I’m quite happy with it so far.

    Stunning Wireless Video Doorbell System

The Wyze - Wireless Video Doorbell Camera Pro is perfect for keeping your home protected and knowing what is happening at your door before you answer it, or even when you're not home. The installation is fairly straightforward. You'll want to make sure you have all the necessary tools to remove your existing doorbell and replace it with this one. Depending on your preference, you could decide to leave your existing doorbell in place and put the Wyze wireless doorbell near it. I went for the replacement option because I wanted the final result to look cleaner. This is a feature rich doorbell-camera system. You can stream video, record interactions, integrate with your favorite IoT virtual assistant service (i.e. Google or Amazon), stellar night vision, and more. Once the doorbell is installed, it's pretty simple to set up the app and camera functions. The video quality is spectacularly clear, which is awesome. Pretty stunning FOV at approximately 150º. You can see all activity on your porch and the surrounding environment. Audio is really clear. The microphone seems to block out ambient noise, such as wind and distractions in the background like cars driving by. Very useful for listening to recordings. The video looks amazing even at night or in low light situations. The volume of the doorbell is adequate. It's loud enough to hear throughout the home without it being glaringly loud if you happen to be near it when it rings. You can also set alerts for things like motion detection, or the doorbell ringing for situations that prevent you from hearing the bell or being generally aware of what is happening around your home. i.e. you're not at home. You have a wired power system with a backup battery which is an excellent design choice. This way, your bell always works even if the power goes out. If you have your wifi/internet on a backup battery source, then you can retain the ability to access your camera during a power outage. I highly recommend the Wyze Wireless Video Doorbell Camera Pro system. It is packed with powerful and useful features, supports integration with popular assistant services and uses cloud native services with cloud based storage. It's an awesome doorbell solution and it will make you feel safe when you are and are not at your home.

When using the wireless/wifi method, the device's internal battery does not last longer than 3 months as claimed. When received, you must first charge the device; that wasn't clear in the app. After fully charging the device 1 week ago, it's already down to 87%. I like that it's small and just 2 pieces.

Hi there! If your Wyze Video Doorbell Pro’s battery is draining too faster than expected please try these troubleshooting steps:

Make sure your Wyze app and Wyze Video Doorbell Pro firmware are up to date.
-Make sure that you are using the charging adapter that came with the Wyze Video Doorbell Pro.
-Ensure that the Wyze Video Doorbell Pro is fully charged. We recommend charging it for at least 4 hours to fully charge to 100%.
-Check the signal strength by going to the Settings > Device Info.
Please note that keeping the livestream open for long periods of time, as well as recording a lot of motion events can drain the battery faster. If you are still experiencing any trouble, please reach out to our Wizards team (https://support.wyze.com/) so we may help out. You may tap on the Message icon in the bottom right hand corner of the support site > fill out the questionnaire > choose the way in which you would like to speak with our team. Please include as much information on your issue as possible. Our products come with a 1-year manufacturer warranty, so if the device is determined to be defective we will be happy to exchange it for you. Thank you and have a great day! WyzeLabs

Nice doorbell camera with good clear hd quality picture. Easy to install with wired or wireless options. The wired option means only wired for power, the other connections are wireless. Wireless option uses an internal rechargeable battery for power. The wired option is mainly for people replacing an existing doorbell. The instructions say 16-24 VAC so you should check your existing doorbell button voltage to see if it might work. Otherwise you can use the wireless option using the built in battery. Not sure if they may mean 16-24 volts DC but the website's instructions say AC. I had an existing doorbell but it didn't work and had no voltage at the button so I just used the Wyze with the wireless configuration using it's battery and it works fine. You supposedly only have to charge it about once every six months and it's easy to remove for charging as long as you save the included torx screwdriver or have your own. I say it's easy to install but it may be harder if you have a brick house and have to install it in brick. My house is brick but was already drilled for my existing doorbell so it was still easy for me too. Nice app with many features and supports other wyze devices as well. Decent variety of chime sounds (with hopefully more coming) the chime gets fairly loud with adjustable volume. Also chimes at the doorbell and in the app. Good motion detection with adjustable range and zone. Good sound detection, I could hear insects and birds chirping through the app that I seldom hear when I'm actually outside. Affordable subscription service available but not required for basic functions. It's supposed to give you even more stuff as well as better cloud storage options. I haven't subscribed yet so I don't know exactly what you get with it but it's there if you want to try it. I like it so far, it seems pretty good and it's nice to be able to look outside in the app without having to actually go out especially at night or in bad weather. I can easily see my neighbor's house across the street quite clearly so I should be able to watch my yard and street pretty well from home and away through the app. If you've been thinking of getting one this is a good choice. (Notice I didn't say wyze choice like everybody else?)

If you’re looking for a simple, easy to install doorbell camera with no monthly fees this might be just what you are looking for! Wyze has been the leader for years in the budget security camera market. They have pretty much been #1 and with good reason. They offer quality products, with no required monthly fee (although there is a paid subscription if you choose to use it) Out of the box, it is what you expect from Wyze. Pretty much all plastic construction. But it’s a thick plastic and doesn’t feel very cheap. Installing the doorbell was about as easy as it can be. We have a wired doorbell, so that’s the way I installed it. You can also install it wire free if you don’t have existing doorbell wires or a chime. It comes with a plate for that and some 3M tape to stick it to your wall, no drilling required! I installed mine with the plate for hard wiring. Once I got the plate leveled up it was running the wires through the holes and putting in 2 screws and my wall plate was installed. Then I just screwed the 2 wires into the back of the doorbell and snapped it on the plate and it was installed. I’m fairly confident just about anybody could install one if these, even if you aren’t all that tech savvy. Getting it hooked up to the app was very easy. You go into the app, select add a new device, enter the type of device, it searches for the device, you enter your wifi network and that’s it. It sets it all up for you. Then you are pretty much good to go! You will be able to see live video through the doorbell and also hear the audio. There is tons of customization settings in the app so you can get the doorbell working exactly the way you want it to. You can set up different zones, so you only get notifications from a certain area of your property. You can customize the notifications and volume of the chime. When viewing live video, you can turn on or off the audio well as use the 2-way audio feature so you can talk to and hear whoever is at your door. With the basic Wyze Cam Plus Lite service you get 12-second Event recordings and Wyze Person Detection at whatever price you choose, including $0. Cam Plus Lite gives you Wyze Person Detection and 12-second Event videos as often as every 5 minutes, saved in the cloud for 14 days. It will allow you to receive and filter motion Event videos with people in them to make sure the notifications you get are meaningful. You can also choose the regular Cam Plus subscription which will cost $1.25 a month. Which is still pretty cheap compared to the other main players in the market. The video quality I find to be acceptable. Listen, these are budget cameras and not high end 4K cameras. The video quality is good, and useable. You will get a very clear picture in the daytime and easily be able to pick out faces. The nighttime video is good. If you have an outdoor porch light near the camera you should be able to easily pick out faces as well. If the camera is in a completely dark area, you might struggle to be able to see faces unless they are right in front of the camera. But you will at least still get that notification that someone is outside your house whether they ring the bell or not, and that’s really what’s important! I found the app to work pretty well, there were a few little bugs and hiccups here and there, but Wyze is constantly taking user feedback and updating the app and adding new features or improving existing features. Overall, if you want to get some security cameras around your house but don’t want to spend a fortune or have a monthly fee, you won't go wrong with Wyze!

Worked great for just under a month. Then, though fully charged, right next to the chime and my phone, and connected to WiFi (the app showed a strong wifi signal) it showed no doorbell signal. Don't know what happened. It was protected from sun and rain and worked perfectly well until it didn't. Tried to exchange but Best Buy did not have one in the store so I returned it and am using a different security camera I already had rather than the doorbell I wanted. I may have had a lemon - hard to know since I don't have a replacement.

Large Doorbell Camera, Cam Plus almost mandatory

I own several of Wyze's camera products. The new Doorbell Camera Pro is a definite step up in features and performance from the first generation doorbell camera. Sadly, it is also a massive size increase as well and may not fit many typical doorbell locations. While this does have a decent battery and can be placed (double sided tape included) where you want it and not just where you have doorbell power wires protruding from the house. I would still suggest trying to fit it where it can be continually powered. Once mounted I found it a bit cumbersome to remove for when the doorbell needs recharging. If you have the room next to your door, the included tilt angle bracket is the premium install option. Unfortunately, my storm door could not close with this angled setup that would allow me to see people approaching the door. I had to go with the flat mount that with the very wide field of view of the Doorbell Pro still sees anyone standing within about 6 feet of either side of the door. This wide angle view is very amusing when seen in notification alert previews sent to your phone. Overall, the Doorbell Camera Pro is as worthy competitor to any other brand out there. Just know that it stores all video in the cloud. Without the Cam Plus subscription service ($1.99/month per camera), you will be limited to 12 second video and 5 minute cooldown between recordings. I also have noticed that WITH Cam plus (free for 2 weeks) I have seen near zero false alarms by wind, shadows, and random insects that can pass the camera. It has only alerted to humans, pets and actual things you would want to see like the package you were expecting. Cam Plus is not required. Likely better to have it given all the extra features Cam Plus turns on within the doorbell camera. Lastly, I had a ton of hiccups getting the Doorbell added to my Android Wyze app. All attempts failed no matter how closely I followed the voice prompts and written instructions. New users to Wyze may avoid many of my pitfalls. For existing users here are a couple tips that even tech support did not offer. Since I already have the Wyze app on my phone and adding devices should have been easy and it wasn't. If having trouble getting a Wyze device added. Try this. YMMV. Exisiting Wyze app users. Delete the app. Reinstall the app. Log in to your account on app. Now install the new device as described by Wyze. You can also try to clear cache and clear storage for the app under phone settings.
