Looks nice and it is affordable. That is about it. Camera option’s conectivity to wifi is poor. It works for a bit and you have to reset it everyday if you want it to work properly. Tiresome. I just left the chime. Do not recommend. Poor product.

Hi there! Almost all Wyze devices need to be connected to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network with a WPA/WPA2 protocol. The only Wyze device that has the ability to work on a 5 GHz network is Wyze Video Doorbell Pro. You may check these links to learn more: (https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us/articles/360054370991).

Good entry doorbell, but could be improved

The Wyze video doorbell camera Pro has a lot to like, but could be improved. I like the option to use the tape to install it instead of drilling holes into my siding. I like the doorbell that set up easily and works very well. I like the look of the camera. I like the easy setup with the app. And the video is very sharp. The night vision works great. What I feel could be improved is the distance of detection, the length of time to view videos before they are deleted, and the annoying ads placed in the app when trying to watch clips of what the camera was able to actually detect. There also is no integration with Google or Alexa. I have a security camera that covers the same area that this doorbell does so I can compare what this detects to what the security camera picked up. This doorbell missed a lot of activity. As long as a person was in short distance of the doorbell it worked pretty well. So deliveries and packages were picked up. Vehicles, animals other movement was missed more often than not. Videos that are picked up do not last long in the app for viewing, so you either need to watch anything it picked up quickly or pay the subscription to keep them long enough for later viewing. I did not pay the subscription so I can't say how well that works. The ads in the app are for the subscription and they are placed between any clips that available for viewing, Multiple times if you have multiple clips. It's annoying. I understand wanting to advertise, but that is overboard in my opinion and very annoying. If you want to try a video doorbell without investing too much, this is a good option. It works well with limits. I would suggest first using the tape before drilling holes for it though. You might want to upgrade before long.

The videos aren't recorded for future use. I thought this would replace our Ring doorbell, but the functionality just isn't there. You can only watch what's going on live. Nothing is saved.

I have been wanting a doorbell camera for my apartment so I can easily see packages delivered or who is knocking without having to answer as I work from home. Most require wiring and installation which has swayed me away from purchasing one as I’m not quite handy enough and plan on moving soon anyways. The WyZe wireless camera is the perfect option for those who are looking for an easier setup and functionality than other options. The camera has a six month battery life so you can easily charge and replace when it’s running low without the hassle of wiring. It comes with a connected app so you can answer your door if you’re not home or even if you are. The camera has a wide range so you can see the entire doorway. It also includes a chime for inside your home to hear when people ring the bell, I placed mine right inside my living room. It also includes a mount with adhesive so there no need to screw anything into door frames. Overall it has great functionality for such a simple item. I love that I can easily take it with me once I move apartments and feel safer.

The Wyze Video Doorbell Pro is a decent video doorbell with great picture quality. Installing the doorbell requires a smartphone and solid internet connection. Inside the box includes a video doorbell, the Chime Pro which also acts as a wifi extender, and some installing tools. The instructions could be a little clearer, it would be nice if they went into a little more detail when connecting through an existing doorbell. The doorbell can be hardwired to your existing doorbell, or it can be totally wireless using the built-in battery. The built-in battery claims to last 180 days on a single charge, but I can not confirm nor deny this seeing how I hardwired mine through an existing doorbell. Once the doorbell is installed, then you can make more setting through the Wyze app. Keep in mind that most of the main features that the camera offers, requires a subscription to work. This model comes with a 14-day free trial to Cam Plus, after that it cost $1.99/month or $19.99 annually. This price is based in the app, if you go to website, they tell you a different price which is a little cheaper. I’m not sure why the price is not consistent from the app and the website. The doorbell also features two-way audio, meaning you can answer the door on your phone and talk to whoever is at your door. The video quality of the doorbell is crisp and clear. The resolution comes in at 1440p and the picture comes in with the view of a fisheye lens. There is a little bit of lag between the doorbell and the time I get notified, but that’s to be expected. But when I’m home and on the same network of my doorbell, there shouldn’t be this much lag. It took about 15 secs after the person rang the bell before I got the notification. This could use some improvements, because if I choose to answer it on my phone then the person at the door is most likely gone by time it actually connects. Overall, I like the picture quality of the doorbell, it comes in very clear and crisp. The audio from the doorbell is loud and clear as well. Depending on the subscription plan you choose, there are some good features like package detection, saved recordings and much more. The included Chime plus is very loud and also acts as a wifi range extender. The biggest issue I am having right now is the lag between the doorbell and getting notified from the app. I hope this can be fixed with a software update because this is a great video doorbell with some decent priced subscriptions. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good video doorbell.

So far so good. I installed this outside my apartment door. It covers the doorstep and stairwell leading up to the second and third floors also. There is more activity here than I thought and having a camera to keep an eye on package deliveries is great an no doubt would deter a thief. The quality is on par with any other doorbell cameras I have used. Installation was literally under a minute. 2 screws and a charge of the doorbell. The app is really easy to use. I do suggest paying for the subscription which is a couple dollars a month or less if you pay up front. The live feed and notifications are very quick to connect with my Spectrum high speed wireless. You can also set up zones, sensitivity and all the standard stuff within the app. For under $100 and the low cost monthly for the additional features this is the doorbell to beat. Battery life so far has been great also. I am averaging 1% to 2% per day with about 10 notifications. The only complaint I had is the quality of the mounting plate screws but I used my own. I definitely recommend this.

A Lot To Like But Not Perfect

I’m a big fan of this product. But it has a single thing that holds it back which is the picture quality is just simply not as sharp as some of the competition. Which is a shame as they do almost everything else better. I don’t normally mention the box but the unboxing experience here was excellent. After I got everything unboxed I installed the app and it took me through the rest of the setup process. They provide multiple options for you to choose depending on how you will be setting up the device in your home. I had no issues with setup and total time it took was probably 10 minutes. As I chose to just attach it via the 3M adhesive mounting plate to my door. Which means it could get jacked pretty easy. But you can also screw it in place. My favorite feature is the ultra-wide viewing angles. As I can see my entire porch. Including the moment someone walks in or out of my door along with seeing any packages on the ground. The notifications I get to my phone are quickly delivered and provide a photo of the individual. I also found the start of the recording is excellent by getting people the moment they come around the corner or come out the door. Along with recording long enough to capture the full event. It never got a partial recording. Which is not the case with most of the other doorbells I’ve tried. When you approach the camera it also glows blue around the doorbell button which is neat. This shows people that A. they are being recorded and B. where to press. The app itself is one of my favorites. As it is modern and sleek. There are a lot of customizability options that are easy to find. They present everything in an easy and intuitive way where I can easily find the things I am looking for. It also loads the camera live feed or recordings very quickly. Much faster than the others I’ve tried. The doorbell chime is also unique as you have a lot of different sounds too choose from. Which means you can get it so your dogs don’t freak out when someone rings the bell. Or can leave it traditional so they do. Looking at the device itself you have a small security torx screw on the bottom that locks it into place. Meaning if someone has access to that they could pop it off your door and take it with them. But you’d catch them doing it. It does have a subscription service (CamPlus) that has unlocks some nice features. Such as more detection options (package, person, vehicle, pet) by allowing access to their AI. I especially like the pet option. As few cameras come with that. I personally love this feature to keep track of the neighborhood cats. Along with unlimited video recordings (and I guess exclusive discounts on Wyze products). As of writing this review it costs $19.99 a year which isn’t bad. But I can’t say I’m a fan of yet another subscription. I didn’t have enough time to test battery life before submitting this review. So I can’t mention how good/bad that will be. It charges with Micro-USB which is very disappointing as I’m just tired of having to hold onto one of those cords for legacy devices and would much prefer USB-C. As for some of the cons. The picture quality here is adequate. It gets the job done but isn’t all that crisp. The moment you try to zoom at all the picture falls apart. Even with downloaded recordings (over streaming). I also couldn’t find an area to change the resolution anywhere. Other than the main screen where you can go between SD and HD. There is no where to install an SD card for local recordings which is unfortunate. I wasn’t able to find a place that I could monitor things other than on my cell phone. Having a web-based version would be nice. Could be wrong about this as well but if the internet goes out I think the entire device ceases to work. Overall, I am pleased with this product and for the price I think it is good. But it isn’t perfect and I’m still not sure if I will be keeping it up and replacing my other smart doorbell or not.

When I moved into my house, the doorbell button was broken which is when I found out that the wires were too short. I bought a cheap wireless doorbell at the time and while it was decent, I've wanted to replace it with a video doorbell for some time. I have two pet peeves when it comes to the smart home emergence in recent years. The first is that each brand of products requires their own app. The second is that the majority of these brands tends to cripple their features unless you pay to subscribe to their monthly service. Since I already have about a dozen Wyze cameras, and a door lock, sticking to the Wyze brand was easy. I already have the app, I don't need another app on my phone just to manage the Video Doorbell. While Wyze does have a CamPlus subscription service, the video doorbell isn't severely crippled to suit Wyze's pocketbooks. It just means that any triggered recording requires a "cool down" period. The Wyze Video Doorbell Pro allows you to dial that between 1 and 5 minutes. Which I think is sufficient. In the package you get the doorbell button with the camera, several mounting plates and screws or a 3M VHB adhesive pad (Very High Bond double sided tape). A plug in chime box. A micro-USB cord to charge the doorbell button. Three jumper wires and a security screwdriver. I plugged in the doorbell button unit to charge it up. While it was charging I plugged in the chime box and proceeded through the first time setup. It was very straightforward to setup and I didn't run into any problems. But then again, I was just doing this in my home office. When I went outside to mount the doorbell I realized my biggest gripe of this system. In order to get the installation instructions, you have to go through and set up the doorbell as a new device. That means I had to delete the previous instance, reset the device and set it up like the first time but now I go through the instructions for one type of installation. But wait, I installed it flat against my door jamb before I could check the camera's field of view. I really need to install it with the included wedge to angle the camera away from the adjoining wall. For most people, that means you need to delete the doorbell camera instance again and go through the entire setup process again so that you can now get to the installation instructions for the wedge. I got a little stubborn and tried to figure it out myself without having to go through the entire process. I almost messed it up before I realized that the wedge is installed with the finished side against your door jamb and the open cell side under the mounting plate. So I would ask that Wyze make the instructions a little more accessible in the app. Battery life depends on the traffic and usage rate of the doorbell. I expect to remove the doorbell unit every 6 months to charge it up. However, one of the nice things is that the back of the doorbell unit has terminals to connect to your existing wired doorbell if you have one. This unfortunately doesn't mean you can connect it to your existing chimebox. It actually has you re-wire the chimebox so that the Wyze Doorbell unit draws power from the transformer to maintain charge but you still use the Wyze plug in chimebox for your chime. The instructions will lead you through the process very well. However, in my particular case, the transformer is installed in my particular chimebox and the instructions don't account for that variation. I'm confident that I can rewire it correctly given a little bit of thought, but I don't mind sticking to the wireless capability for now. One of the nice surprises is that you can change the doorbell chime in the app. There are about a dozen choices with a few Christmas themed ones. I sure hope they add more later. Another gripe with this Video Doorbell is that to achieve a wide field of view, the fish eye distortion is pretty severe. From what I've seen in other systems, this is pretty much on par for this market segment. I imagine that the processing power required to correct that distortion would hamper overall system performance and take a significant chunk out of the battery life. Otherwise the video is decent, the microphone picks up well and the speaker could use a little more volume, but it is sufficient for most cases. In the end, this Wyze Wireless Video Doorbell package provides excellent functionality at an affordable price. Installation could be made easier if Wyze could allow quick access to the instructions.

With the increase in thefts and break-ins around my neighborhood, I had to add to my home's security. I am constantly getting packages in, so I needed a video doorbell that not only lets me monitor my entrance, but would also allow me to talk to the carrier. Well I decided to give the Wyze - Wireless Video Doorbell Camera Pro a try. What I really like about this system is the fact that it not only comes with the doorbell device, but it also comes with a chime. Although not the loudest, I am still able to get notification on my phone if I am not near my chime. You don't even get a chime with other video doorbells, so for the price, I can't complain. Installation was a breeze. You have the option to hardwire the doorbell, or to use batteries. Using batteries makes installation so simple, but even a hardwire setup is easy to do. I myself went with the battery installation because my house is old and the wires weren't even powered. All I had to do was drill some holes for the mount and slide the camera into place. I installed the app and had the camera up and running almost immediately. I would definitely recommend the Wyze - Wireless Video Doorbell Camera Pro to anyone.

My wife and I have several rental properties and we are always looking for ways to monitor the contractors who come and go and to ensure nothing nefarious is going on while no one is there. I ordered this for that purpose. I have a portable hotspot that I lock up at a rental property and I connect various wireless cameras to oversee the property's we are working on. This seemed like a good option given our purpose. I installed this on the main entry door into the rental we are currently working on and after some adjustments to the motion detection within the app, it works very well. The images are clear, even when recording at night. I dont use the chime because it doesnt serve any purpose for my usage, but it is compact and can be placed anywhere near the doorbell. I'm not sure how close it has to be to camera because as I mentioned, I dont need that feature. The response can be a little bit delayed when someone presses the bell until the notification appears on my phone, but it's not so long that it presents a problem. So far, I dont really have any complaints about this doorbell camera.

For the price its pretty good. For one I'm surprised that you can use the 5ghz channel on wifi most video doorbells use 2.4ghz . Now i know some people are going to say that is not a major improvement but in fact it is. Although 2.4ghz has better range it's still a little laggy when you are streaming. On 5ghz i had less of that. The camera is 2560x1440 so it looks very good. The motion detection is good but it doesn't always work 100% although the range is 150 degrees. Nice thing is this that it works with Alexa just set it up from the Alexa app on the phone and so when they ring my bell my Alexa speakers play the chime i love this cuz if I'm in the bedroom i don't really hear the bell. I also get notifications on my phone but when Im home i charge the phone in the bedroom and go watch tv in the living room. Wyze did a good with the doorbell pro app usually the other companies you see a small screen and have to tilt the phone to horizontal to get a better view not with wyze it zooms in to fit most of the phone when held vertical. Also wyze is better in that you don't need a subscription and if you do it's $2 a month and it saves to the cloud .

We all know that whoever does something first, leads the market in that department. I recall when the first video doorbells came out, it was surreal being able to answer your door without having to physically be there. It’s a common thing this day and age so every new company pushing and boasting the best “AI security” or doorbell chalk-full of features, you end up using maybe 25% of those features and you broke the bank for no reason. Enter Wyze disrupting the market with their amazing features and very low price points. Setting up is easy. I opted to drill it into the wall. I don’t trust 3m to withstand the elements. Once it was set up and wired (if you choose to) open up the Wyze app and follow or continue the instructions. This is great because it gives you certainty that you’re doing it right. Overall, I’ve got pretty much everything Wyze at this point and I’m not disappointed. The video and sound quality are great. You can even set up rules to trigger recordings based on what sets off certain devices and at certain times of the day etc. What sets this apart form other doorbells is the price and that fact that you still get the most useful and simple features at a completely doable price point.

This doorbell comes with all you need, including a chime, which is not common with many of these video doorbells. That was the first think I liked about it. The second and more important to me is the video quality and it didn’t disappoint. It is very good for its category. Resolution is beyond the more common 1080p although is not 4K. A good compromise because it is very clear, and I like the wide view. The chime is loud enough but not annoyingly loud. I can hear it even from my backyard if I’m not too far and from anywhere inside my house. Where I can’t hear it directly, the Wize app on my phone will ring. That app also has two-way audio that allows you to talk to anybody at the door no matter where you are in the world. That is very handy when you’re away from home and you need to talk to the person ringing the doorbell. I’ve needed to talk to delivery people many times when I was not home. They ring the doorbell and the apps rings too. Then you can chat. The issue with wireless devices is that they need batteries. Fortunately, Wyze uses USB-C to recharge the built-in lithium battery and you don’t need to replace it. The only issue here is that you have to take it down to charge. During that time, you have no doorbell. If you are replacing your wired doorbell, however, you’re in luck. You can use the wires and you will never need to worry about charging the battery. That’s what I did. Since this is not my first video doorbell, I was surprised that you can’t set zones for the motion sensor. What that means is that every movement in front of my house triggers the recording function. With a zone setting, it limits to the area you choose. Overall, I do recommend. The only reason I didn’t rate it five stars is because of the missing zone setting. Otherwise, it would have been perfect, especially considering its price point.

All in all the Wyze Wireless Video Doorbell Camera Pro system is pretty mediocre. But for this price range it's decent. Pros are: It's reasonably compact. Picture quality is good even through the fish-eye type distortion. Dual powered by the onboard battery, or you can hardwire this. Response time/lag between button press and chime sounding is short. Payment for storing/accessing vids is optional. Dual band WiFi capable 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz. Stores videos in the cloud for 14 days. Cons: Battery in my estimate will not last 3-6 months. If you have a lot of traffic that sets it off, battry will get used up much faster. Free use only captures 12 seconds of video, and you must wait 5 minutes between events for it to record again. Setup should have been easy, but the app was terrible at getting connected and setting up. 2 way communication was garbled, unable to understand the person outside. the 3M tape used for mounting without screws does not work well. Prepped the surface appropriately and after about 3 hours, doorbell fell off. Bought some extreme hold double sided tape and it's been fine since. No removeable battery. You must dismount the whole thing to recharge. Other than the setup issues, this is an ok doorbell. Nothing outstanding, but better than nothing. Picture quality is good. This would have been 4 stars if it weren't for the lagging issue prone app.
