So after a warehouse mix-up, I finally received my WYZE Cam Outdoor V2 Starter Bundle. I have always admired the WYZE home cameras and was anxiously awaiting for this new outdoor camera to arrive. Upon unboxing the package, you'll find inside: * Wyze Cam Outdoor V2 * Camera Base Station (with Power Adapter & Ethernet Cable) * Camera Charging USB Cable * Mounting Screws * Quick Start Guide Setting up this camera was very straightforward. Simply follow along with the Quick Start Guide and connect the Base Station to your home router and download the Wyze app from the App Store for iOS or Google Play Store for Android. Create and login to your account and add the Base Station. The Base Station's firmware will most likely need to be updated which takes just a few minutes to download and install. Next power on the camera from the back and add it also to the app and update the firmware to it as well. Once you have your camera connected and setup, you can mount it outside your home or it can be used on the inside of your home as well. If placing it outside, it is weatherproofed for inclement weather conditions. Although I wish it was 4K, 1080p is still very good quality. Some of my fave features of this cam is the 2-way audio, night vision, microSD card slot, and battery life (which is rated to be at least 6 months long). To charge, simply pull the camera off its magnet frame/stand and charge up and replace back outside/inside your home. This camera is one of the simplest and easiest cameras I have ever used and comes with a host of features both on the camera and within the app. Great camera at an even better price. I highly recommend this camera to anyone looking for a great camera system for that added security to their home.

The Wyze Cam Outdoor v2 is my first experience with a Wyze product, and I'm pretty impressed so far. The starter bundle comes with the outdoor wireless camera as well as the base station. First impressions: The box is tiny (about the size of a 16 oz beer can) and it's pretty cool that they fit two distinct products in there. I'm also impressed that Wyze include an actual printed manual (as tiny as it is!) instead of only the QR code to download the app. Using the Wyze app was super easy and I was up and running in less than 5 minutes. My only complaint with the process is that the app doesn't open the initial account login/setup screen in a web browser, so if you want to use a password manager it's a little easier to go to Wyze's website and set up your account first, then copy and paste the password into the app. Pricing for their cloud subscription is very inexpensive, and there's a free option available. It's $15/yr per camera, and if you have enough cameras you can cover all of them for $99/yr. The free option stores 12 seconds of video every 5 minutes, and there's a "name your price" option that records the same 12 seconds of video per 5 minutes, but also adds person detection. Quality of the video is not as good as my wired security cameras, but my wired security cameras can't be mounted with the same flexibility as the Wyze Cam Outdoor v2, either. I've mounted the camera where it has visibility on a gate in my backyard fence, somewhere I'd never be able to get a wired camera without a professional installer. Solid recommendation from me. This is a polished product and I'm interested in adding more of their cameras to the system to monitor some other hard to reach areas of my home.
