Very good but not the best Xmen

If you're a fan of the Xmen series, you should like this one a lot. Like all Xmen movies, it's not perfect but easy to overlook unless you're nitpicking. Brian Singer really knows how to make Xmen movies. It's sad that this is his last one as everyone else has messed up their Xmen movies. This is a good movie for the family as it repeated has the family togetherness theme to it. This combo comes with the Blu-ray, DVD, and digital version. In my opinion, all movies should come with all 3 as the costs are only a few cents for each one. Most of the money goes towards the production of the movie.

I saw this in the theatre and liked it well enough but not as much as I'd hoped. However, I like to collect movies and since I had all of the previous in the X Men series, I purchased this one. I was surprised how much more I enjoyed it as I was able to catch more of the intricacies. So, now I'm glad I bought it and it changed my opinion to the good. Sometimes in the theatre, everything just happens so fast. Buy it. If you haven't seen it, watch twice, you won't regret it!

The best of the second trilogy

Personally, I think this is the best movie from the second trilogy. I am not a big First Class fan (though Kevin Bacon does play a solid role as the villain), and I think there are too many moving parts (and some occasional drawn out parts) in Days of Future Past. While there are moments Oscar Isaac is not scary as Apocalypse, I think the movie is pretty good. Bryan Singer seems focused on a main story here, and I believe the film shows that for the better. I really like the short story line about Magneto's losing his family. I would like to have seen his hatred played out more (I can only imagine the anger from Sir Ian McKellen put to the acting of Michael Fassbender). Overall, I recommend this movie to superhero movie lovers.

McAvoy, Fassbender, and Lawrence continue to grow into their roles. Oscar Isaac is a suitably menacing Apocalypse, in a well- paced popcorn chewing special effects fest. While it doesn't have the depth of Marvel Studios films, it's a must see for fans. I hope that Fox is willing to go back to some of the older source material, and feature menaces like the Brood, Arcade, the Hellfire Club, the Morlocks, and other worthy adversaries from the Claremont/Cockrum/Byrne era, as well as featuring more of the Xmen and their allies such as the Shi'ar, Banshee, Gambit and Cable.

I think that "X-Men: Apocalypse" was once again one of the greatest "X-Men" films of all-time and was also one of my favorite films of all-time. I've enjoyed and was a fan of all the films that were a part of the second "X-Men" trilogy that began with "X-Men: First Class" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past" that provided a creative and original insight that helped explore and establish the entire history and mythology of the "X-Men" including the films of the first "X-Men" trilogy and the unrated extended version of "The Wolverine". I also think that this film had a lot of entertaining and enjoyable action, mystery, suspense and drama including a really great and amazing cast and personal storylines as well.

Enjoyable X-men movie. I was still reading X-men comics when they first did the story with Apocalypse and The Horsemen. It was a great series.
The movie didn't have the time to get that broad in scope, but it was a fun movie to watch.
The relationship between Magneto and Xavier is pretty cool. Seeing a younger version of Jean Grey and Scott Summers was nice. Of course, Weapon X stole the show for his brief appearance.
Glad I bought it; I will definitely watch it again over the years.
Only gave it 4 stars because there wasn't more of Weapon X in it.

I admit I am not a comic book fan so I do not know the story line or history of the comics. I enjoyed the movie but I had to have my nephew - the comic book guru- explain the characters to me. Aftwerwards, I watched it again and now I get it. So, if you want to watch, check out the character story line before. Also, I purchase the Blu-Ray because I enjoy the extra features and behind the scenes production stuff. The extra features in this Blu ray were mindless and just silly interviews that I can get online without having to pay extra for them.

As an X-Men fan I was going to see this movie no matter what. The way they wove characters' backstories in was clever and the Quicksilver scene was a hoot. However, an action movie lives and dies by the villain, and unfortunately Apocalypse wasn't as convincing as he could have been. Neither was the peril. The movie was paced well and though it covered a lot of territory it never dragged. So it was an entertaining superhero movie but not one I'll watch again. Well, maybe once. The extra features are worth seeing, especially the gag reel.

X Men Apocalypse starts off with the very first Mutant Apocalypse being sealed in a tomb to later return to gain control of the Earth by using the weaker mutants to do his bidding. Michael Fassbender returns as Magneto and James Mc Avoy as Professor X. The X-Men movies have excellent special effects, photography, editing, and musical score. Sometimes the timelines can be confusing going from the future, to the past, to the present and twisted inside out. If your a fan of the series, the comics, and characters check this one out.

Although X-Men pretty much started the whole superhero movie franchise, it has failed in comparison to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Each new movie seems to be more flat than the previous one. Unlike the MCU that just seems to get better and better and are building towards an ultimate goal. X-Men doesn't have that because of the license agreements for Fox. All in all this was a good movie but it's not like the first time you saw X-Men one. It may be time for a new director to take over and see what they can do with the franchise.

I've been a huge X-men fan for almost 20 years now and I've seen all of the movies. X-Men Apocalypse rests right in the middle of my list if I were to rank all of the movies from best to worst. It's not great like Days of Future Past or X2: X-men United. But it's also now awful like X-Men Origins Wolverine or The Last Stand. It's okay, just alright, nothing too special.
The blu ray itself looks fantastic even if some of the CGI isn't that well done. The movie itself is an enjoyable watch, just don't expect to be blown away.

There have been a lot of mixed reviews based on the comic and movie Fandom for the X-men movies. I read a lot of X-men comics in my life, I watched a lot of the cartoons for X-men and I have seen all of the X-men movies.
This review is based loosely on the comics, primarily off of the story line we have seen currently in the movies.
I feel this was a great addition to the X-men stories currently on film. I think this movie sets up several follow up X-men movies. I loved the Apocalypse story lines in the comics, and this has a few similarities made in the film.
Overall, I really liked this movie and think it is worth watching multiple times.

This movie was the X-men movie I had been waiting for. It featured my favorite line up of characters and the villian was a great test for the heroes. I was especially happy that the movie did not center on Wolverine, although he's a favorite character of mine. It was nice to see others get the spotlight for a change. Although I have not yet watched the special features, I can say that skimming through the menu that there are ones that I'm very excited to view. This movie was the culmination of everything going on in the X-men universe, and if it were the finale (which I hope it is not) then they certainly didn't pull any punches.

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto, to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven with the help of Professor X must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

I love every single moment of the move especially storm and
Jean Grey Phoenix....my favorite parts of the movie is storms teen moment and Jean Grey phoenix part and I also love the action through out the movie and love the costumes and picture quality with the most important of all the acting done by actresses and actors. I have a new favorite superhero movie now and it is x-men apocalypse movie. Words cannot explain. I only hope they do more x-men movies with the same main actresses and actors especially the cast of storm and Jean Grey from x-men apocalypse. I will keep watching if so wich I really hope so. $$$$$♡♡♡♡♡♡☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆(:

The Mutants in this sequel to X-Men: Days of Future Past take on the world's first mutant, who after thousands of years has awakened to find a world led by humans, which he doesn't like. This, of course, means that he intends to cleanse the earth of all of mankind and start his own new mutant world order with him, of course, as their leader. But do not despair, Professor X has recruited his own group of young X-Men to save the day and the world to boot against this seemingly unstoppable enemy.

X-men: Apocalypse continues to round out the mutant story and develop depth in the characters. While Apocalypse himself is a bit of a bore, his righteous indignation and incredible power make for an excellent antagonist. Opposing forces in both powers and view of humanity goes to the core of the mutant saga, making this another fine addition of the bigger story and creating addition interest in where our favorite mutants go from here and how the world around them reacts to their existence.

OK. When the first 2 X-Men movies came out at the turn of the millennium, I was amazed. Even though I HATED the premise of the first movie (what the main enemy's evil plot was...don't want to spoil anything for anyone who might not have seen it), seeing the comic book characters I'd grown to love come to life was just awesome!
Since then, though, every X-Men movie has sadly been a major disappointment. Every one of them. ALL!
The ONLY redeeming grace these movies have AT ALL in my opinion have been to see characters I hadn't seen in the other movies yet as 'real life' characters. it seems Marvel and Disney can't make up their minds how any of the characters are supposed to exist when or how. Frustrating. Quit it. Quit changing the origin of every single character in every movie. ARGH!
Having said that, the movie on Blu-Ray is done really well. It's a great transfer right up until the end where the good guys face off against the bad guys in a desert-like area. That's the only spot I felt didn't look right, and it took me out of the movie to some extent.
If you like the X-Men movies, you'll enjoy the adventure. You'll just have to accept this as a completely different concept from any other previous X-Men movie (in the same way that all the previous movies have been different concepts from the others, with the exception of the first two...).

Saw X-Men Apocalypse. It was a great movie for further developing the characters from X-men First Class and Days of Futures Past. That being said, the new main villain is poorly developed and hollow. Special effects were great and some origin for major characters from the franchise. A fun surprise visit from everyone's favorite X-men character. I would strongly recommend this for X-Men fans, but would not recommend it for those who are not into the franchise.

This is a fairly good movie with good action and decent characters. Some of the bigger characters could have been in the movie more but it makes sense as it goes thru from start to finish. This movie also introduces a lot of new characters (which could also be a downfall as the cast is huge) but it sort of passes the torch to the newer characters that could be developed in the future. Overall, its a good movie to watch if you are a fan of the series.
