This movie kind of fell flat on it's face it was alright seeing the characters come back I love that part but without the same director the movie just didn't feel the same didn't even have the X-men theme music in it at all which I always look forward to and the Quicksilver slow motion scene was cut very short a lot of what made the previous movies great was taken out of this one.

This was a movie that everyone seemed to have an opinion on before even watching it and unfortunately learn to abysmal box office numbers. Well I don’t think it’s the strongest installment in the X-Men franchise but it certainly doesn’t deserve all of the hate that it’s gotten. I would say that it is definitely an improvement over X-Men the last stand and seeing it in crystal clear 4K with the improved Dolby Atmos sound definitely makes it a worthy home-video companion. The space scenes and special effects scenes certainly benefit the most from this transfer and the film also comes packed with over two hours and special features, includes a director’s commentary, and a free digital redemption code. If you’re a fan of the of the franchise And want to have a final film in the Fox Studios saga this is definitely worth picking up.

The 4K UHD presentation of X-Men: Dark Phoenix offers a sonic upgrade from the already excellent DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 mix featured on the 1080p Blu-ray with a really nicely rendered Dolby Atmos track. There is very nice vertical placement throughout the presentation, starting with some of the cacophony of the opening car crash clearly wafting overhead, and later effects, like jets and helicopters whizzing overhead clearly offering midair placement of effects. While there's the same "on again, off again" approach to immersion here that I mentioned in the X-Men: Dark Phoenix Blu-ray review, this Dolby Atmos rendering offers arguably more forceful LFE and an overall more consistent surround experience. Fidelity is excellent across the board, supporting both the over the top set pieces and the quieter dialogue moments with no problems whatsoever.

After writing the disappointing X-Men: The Last Stand, long-time franchise producer Simon Kinberg returns to the same story for Dark Phoenix in his directorial debut only to blunder it once again. Despite excellent performances from the entire cast and some admittedly mesmerizing visuals, Jean Grey's tragic evolution into the Phoenix is ultimately a dull, tired trek with some problematic misunderstandings of its source material. The saga rises to Ultra HD with a gorgeous 4K HDR10 presentation and a reference-quality Dolby Atmos soundtrack that soars far above and improves on its Blu-ray counterpart. With a small, somewhat disappointing collection of bonuses, the overall package is nonetheless recommended on UHD.

I do not understand why all the negative reviews. This film is perfectly fine; well made, VERY well acted, well written. I cannot, for the life of me, see what all the hate is about. It really makes no sense. Much better than critics would have you believe. Not every super hero movie needs to follow the Disney formula, so if you're looking for that type of movie, this is not it. In fact, I preferred the action and representation of mutant powers in this movie much more than in the Avengers. The movie isn't perfect by any means, but it's a solid film, an above-average X-Men film, and one worth the rent and watch.

I’ve seen all of the newest series of X-men movies. They’ve all been pretty good, with First Class being my favorite. The trailers for Dark Phoenix didn’t get me excited enough to watch this one in the theater. But I ended up renting it which led me to liking it enough to purchase. The special effects are very good and the story and action reminded me of the Dark Phoenix storyline/comics from when I was a kid. This movie did very poorly at the box office, but the movie actually turned out to be enjoyable. Fun popcorn movie.

I feel the critics may have been pretty harsh when it comes to this movie. I went into this movie with low expectations and an open mind. I don’t know very much about x-men lore, but like the other movies in this saga, I was happily entertained. The story was ok and the acting was for the most part pretty good. I could understand why super fans would be upset with this movie, but your average watchers should walk away feeling entertained in my opinion. It wasn’t terrible, it wasn’t great, it was right in between, and that’s ok.

This movie is nowhere near as bad as the critics keep saying. I will say that girl-power thing came much more naturally in Captain Marvel and felt much more forced in this film. They just tried too hard and it came off more "in your face" than it did in Captain Marvel. That said, it was a much better telling of the Dark Phoenix saga than X-Men: Last Stand and was really a pretty good movie overall too.

Being an X-Men movie we had to get it. Was very entertaining but hard to keep track of all of the different timelines and when the timeline changed in movies related to other movies. But that is a general X-Men movie issues with the time traveling elements. Would recommend as an entertaining movie with good effects. Watched as the first movie on our new 4K tv.

I loved the action and it was visually stunning! For me, the inaccuracies within the X-Men movie series timeline was too much for me to ignore and why I gave it just 4 stars. I'd recommend this movie to a friend with the caution of watch it for the entertainment value. I won't list specific inaccuracies so I don't spoil it for others that may not be aware.

As many reviewers mentioned, this movie destroyed many X-men relationships in characters, stories and plots. Processor-X turned into totally different character, and Mystic is gone in the first part. However overall it could be considered as so-so OK movie if you do not consider any previous X-men circumstance. Just enjoy what you can see the screen.

I think I’m one of the those rare individuals that actually liked this film. I’ll admit, it has flaws, but I enjoyed the score, visual effects, and characters, in general I was entertained. Got it on Black Friday so I didn’t mind the price, but for its quality of 4K Blu-ray Discs, it looks great. Came with digital copy too, so for $12 it was alright.

I'll go ahead and speak the truth - this wasn't the best X-Men movie. You can easily tell that there was another direction they wanted to go, but had to reshoot and rewrite some elements. It's not terrible, but it's a shame that the cast had to close out with this. Anyway, PQ and AQ are good. I'd recommend for fans and for the curious, wait for a sale.

I see to many people these days don't try to enjoy a movie anymore, they just nit pick at any little detail they can. And they have with this movie. But if your the kind of person that just wants a movie to Entertain you, and something you can enjoy, this will do, its not the greatest of the series, but still worth watching in my opinion...

The movie was good, but I am glad we bought it instead of in the theater. The characters were a little off and felt like it was more of a B-Movie than a movie full of A-List actors. As long as you are not expecting much, this movie doesn't leave you wanting. If you are looking for something engaging and full of action...move along.

Ok, in my humble opinion, this movie is not too bad. It’s pretty good until the final battle. Then I’m left scratching my head, given that I’ve read the original comics and know that they have great source material. Otherwise, it’s decent plot, decent acting, just disappointed that they didn’t do right by this franchise.

I went with the reg. 4K not the steelbook.. While the Steelbook cover artwork itself was nice the quality is not very good when you look at it in person. Apocalypse steelbook was much better. So I saved $5 and went with the reg. 4K. I gave it 4 stars for a combo of them blowing the Steelbook artwork quality and the movie itself.

I understand the disdain for this movie. I get it. Like, don't ask me about ep.8 in SW. But since so many different scenarios and actors have played in X-Men, I'm more prone to give it more of a pass, like the latest Terminator movie that bombed. Eh, my wife says I like bad action movies, starting to think she's right. :/

I didn’t see it and didn’t want to because I gave in into the hate like everyone else, I picked this up on Black Friday and boy oh boy was I wrong! Yeah it has a bunch of things wrong but man it was entertaining. It doesn’t really feel like an X-men movie for some reason, but it’s in the same page. Cgi is amazing.
