Misleading ad & glitching badly now

When I bought the camera online from BestBuy @ $98 it hadn't clarified front or back. We thought it was front. After buying it we were told its a rear camera and need the front for $250. I wanted a nice cam to begin with so I would've paid what reviews said best regardless, but I'd like the legit / full cost up front and not walk into a purchase that unexpectedly hits 3x original budget upon pickup. Pics uploaded from ad showing no mention of front or rear. **Do your customers better than that BestBuy**
2wks after install its glitching horribly. It thinks we're lane deviating every 30sec (pings & beeps), and also thinks we're nearing collision every minute (pinging more). We got the volume lowered but still annoying so we'll continue to play with it. Meanwhile, it's still fulfilling the role of recording all our driving--thankfully.
HD Video & sound quality is phenomenal and the recordings are easy to access, and the wifi & phone app features make this a great cam otherwise above mentioned issues.
I recommend this to friends bc it still seems to outperform the other junk out there.

Hi there,
We apologize for any confusion regarding the product descriptions. To clarify, please note that the attached photo to your comment is of the F50, which is a stand-alone front facing camera. The camera you left a review for is the TWA-X500F750R, which is a rear-view camera. The rear-view camera is compatible with the F770. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have forwarded your inquiry to the appropriate department to notify them that the product information may need to be more specific.
In regards to the glitching issue, it is likely that the road settings for the dash cam are not set accordingly. Please try adjusting the LDWS and FCWS speeds to better suit your driving habits on the road.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us by email ([email protected]) or phone (1-844-865-9273).
Kind regards,
Thinkware Customer Support

I bought the X500 front camera and decided later i wanted the rear also, i mean why protect the front and not the rear also so i went back and ordered the rear camera and hard wiring kit so it would watch the vehicle while it's parked, i had Best Buy install the system because of the warranty and workmanship. after 2 weeks of driving and being parked i finally downloaded and formatted the camera it was my 1st time and i;m still getting familiar with it and have to change a few settings but it was wonderful it showed everything while driving front. and rear and parked if i closed the door hard it got everything i'm really happy with the system. you'll have to play with it a little to get use to it. the only downfall is the 1 minute intervals in recording it takes a little time to go through but the more i use it i'm sure i'll find a faster way.

It's a discreet camera that connects to an Thinkware product capable of support dual recording. Use it as a rear camera to detect somebody running into you while stopped on a high way or parked in a parking lot. Or you could rig it up as a driver's side camera and record any interactions with somebody at your window.
Recording quality is on par with that of the camera on the main device. Install can be tricky if you have a lot of air bags to negotiate.
It does have a couple of bright blue LED light which have no on / off switch. I guess you can cover up the light with black electrical tape if you choose.

camera works good, very good build quality, good video quality, but not the greatest video, The software is ok, needs improvement, Because when you try to use the zoom feature it zooms to the bottom left hand corner of the screen and you can't move to the area that you need to see... :-( I hope they fix the software sometime soon...

Recently the cam came in play as a drunk driver assaulted me. Since the cam have wireless system, I showed the cops about the assault rights on the spot. The cop spoke up " You have a crystal clear better quality of dash cam than us ! "

I love the way this dash cam adds the rear capability to my F500. It records a complete seperate video to your dashcsm of the rear view. My only complaint would be the price. A little much in my opinion. But if you can get over that it's a great accessory.

Easy plug and play on my x500 Thinkware Dashcam. Image quality is great. The camera recognized the rear camera immediately upon plugging it in.

Checked reviews before purchasing, really liked what people had to say about it as well as the ability to add a rear-facing camera, which I added a month ago. Excellent video quality and it doesn't just go off anytime either (very few incidental activations) continuous recording will preserve daily driving footage. This handy, as I see a lot of crazy driving around here and sometimes publish the results online.

I have already reviewed the front camera, and mentioned the back camera in the 1st review. Both cameras are great. I have no regrets about buying them and I should have got them when I 1st got the vehicle. They give me more than I asked for. And the guys that did the install at Best Buy did a great job and the price was fair.

Great addition to the front facing camera. Was easier to install than I thought other than routing it to the trunk which took some careful maneuvering for my vehicle. But even still I was up and running in no time and am now covered if I get into an accident from the rear.

This rear view camera provides clear evidence of the faulty actions of drivers exhibiting bad driving behavior behind you. Love it. It's nice to say, "Got you on Camera." Our Farmers Insurance agent endorses the use of camera evidence.

Decent Rear Camera

It is a decent rearview camera but you have to have the front dash cam to have it actually installed. The video quality is not as good as the front dash cam but it does well to capture most important features. It struggles with 60fps, my device only gave me 30fps and that is why some images may appear blurry. It is highly recommended to clean your windshields before having this camera installed. It goes great with the F750 but again, my previous review stated that it could be better and for what it is, I gave it 4 stars just for that reason. Do not expect a super-quality image, its barely scratching HD and sometimes the quality is below that.

The video quality on this camera is really good. Yes, I can read a license plate very well. It stays mounted even on bumpy roads and the image doesn't even blur.

This really adds to the dash cam set up. It's great to have the rear view recorded too. Our only trouble was, that the camera was installed so that the picture was up side down. Which, didn't take much to fix.

Outstanding picture quaility. Play back is even better. Price is good. Sometimes the price is even lower which makes it even more desirable. Worth the money.
