Although this game has 0 replay value, the $25 I paid for it on black friday made it well worth it! For those of you who are gamers, this game plays like a mixture of assassins creed (parkour) and Batman Arkham (fighting, combos) Excellent game with lots of missions as well !(single player)

I have been waiting for this game since I heard about it. As a big fan of Middle Earth - I have played pretty much all the previous attempts to create an immersive, yet playable game based on this world. Although some weren't bad, this is the first one that knocks it out of the park. I blew through 6 straight hours after putting it in my Xbox One last night. Plenty of action with the role playing elements that allow you to play to your own style. The nemesis system is a great addition and creates a unique undertone to your game. I found myself developing personal dynamics between myself and the characters (especially the ones that killed me more than once! I want revenge!). Great gameplay, great graphics, immersive and engaging world and characters - in my opinion, it's the best Xbox One game yet.

Plays well, good combat, good story. This game makes you feel like a boss, fighting up to 30 enemies at a time, parrying slicing off heads and limbs, mind controlling orcs, riding beasts and climbing walls. The nemesis engine is a great new feature that more games should try to replicate. Enemies remember you. If you run, they'll trash talk you the next time you meet. If you a fan of the assassin's creed series, this game will feel comfortable.

Playing all the big triple A titles of the year and I must say shadow of mordor stands out on it's own. The gameplay is good, the story is interesting being a LOTR fan, and hear this assassins creed.... the combat is beyond spot on. It is a well done game and I do recommend this to people looking for a new series to get into.

Got this based on on-line reviews and glad I did. LOTS of fun with a huge playing environment. Games quite tough as you progress through finding and killing Captains for the invading Uruk army. Little (lot!) confusing early on but you eventually catch on and then the game is much better. Even thought of calling in sick one day (I didn't) to play as I wanted to keep going. Get it--you'll be glad you did.

A combination of the traversal/stealth of Assassin's Creed with the combat mechanics of the Batman Arkham series brings us one of the best AAA titles of 2014. I'd even recommend this title to people who are not fans of the Middle Earth lore. Fans of stealth/ action games should not pass this one up.

Whether or not you're familiar with the Lord of the Rings lore, this game is excellent and worth your time. The story, the aesthetics, and the combat system are all top-notch. There's a lot to explore here, and replay value is high. It's well worth your time and money to give Mordor a visit.

This was a fun game to play through. I didn't really know what was going on with the story most of the time, but just followed the guides to go to the next tasks. The Nemisis system was neat, but again, I couldn't always follow what was going on with the movement and how everything affected the promotions, etc. (I was just looking for action in the game!).
Overall, fun to play.

What a game! It is great to see a game that can take the Lord of the Rings mythology and add in a new story line that is intriguing and exciting to be in. Take the controls as a ranger with wraith powers as you cut down Sauron's captains and horde of orcs. Learn to control them and have them fight along side you in your quest. The Nemesis system is very innovative and fun to plan strategy with. The game can be difficult at times since the orcs are constantly spawning, but once you learn the controls and gain more power you will run into the groups of enemies looking for a fight. This game is a must buy, and is on it's way to earning a game of the year award.

the combat/controls are good, the game has very good graphics, and while I haven't made it too far into the story so far to make a judgement on that, the nemesis system provides ample reason to continue progressing through the game. the need for revenge after an uruk captain berates you for coming back when he's killed you three previous times is great.

Next generation gaming is finally here. Vast open world sandbox gameplay and a new entitled " nemesis system " of gameplay has set the benchmark for newly inspired game mechanics for all others to follow. Out of the shadows rises a new contender for king of games!

This game is pretty incredible! The graphics are stunning and the gameplay is intense. It has an awesome story line and the game isn't really easy or really hard. Just challenging enough. It is a great buy, especially if you are a Lord of the Rings fan!

If you enjoy Assassin's Creed titles and the lore of Lord of the Rings, then this game was designed with you in mind. The game is loads of fun and has tons of side missions on top of an exciting campaign that makes you not want to put the controller down. Some parts of the game can be difficult if you go run in and start hacking away at everything, which modern gaming often encourages. This game pushes you to think tactically before going into situations. An interesting aspect of the game is the Uruk Captains, which all act as mini-bosses. Each have their own strengths and weaknesses and learning of those before hand becomes an almost essential part of success in this game. Overall I am still loving every aspect of this game. I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves hack and slash games that don't mind putting some thought into their playing experience.

If you enjoyed the Batman Arkham games or the Assassin's Creeed games then you should give this a try. All the love that this game is recieving for its gameplay and mechanics and combat are well deserved and the story keeps the game moving at a nice pace. I really can't say anything bad about it other than it just wasn't for me.

While the game play controls seem complicated at first, the game is quite fun and easy to play after a short while. Engaging story and challenging game play. The constantly changing army rankings is a nice touch to a polished game.
