We bought this for our 12 year old during the holiday sales as an upgrade from the PS3. The system sets up easily and we were ready to get our gaming on quickly, however the first time you play a game the system does a lengthy update/game load. We learned quickly to allow time for this process in the future. Two hours later, he was playing some of his favorite games. I attribute the initial time frame for his first download to the XBOX servers being packed with people playing their systems during the holidays and expect it should be better in the future (I hope). This system came with a Gears of War download (took a full day) and the ability to get the whole Gears of War catalog if played by the end of the year. This bundle came with one controller and did not include the Kinect, however those options are available with other bundles or by purchasing it separately. The only item I expected but did not get was a the basic XBOX headset. Apparently, the 500GB system does not come with a headset for online gaming. From my understanding the 1TB bundle does however. We made due for a few days with some basic phone headphones equipped with a hands free mic until my son chose the headset he wanted. We are now looking at getting rechargeable batteries for the controllers as the first set of batteries lasted a few days (while being used heavily). I am leaning towards rechargeables rather than a docking station primarily for the flexibility of the battery use. Also, don't forget the XBOX live account to play online. Pros: Fast/easy set up of the system Many great game franchises/experience Graphics Game play XBOX apps (Netflix, YouTube, etc.) Download the BluRay app! Hours of fun!! Happy kid (and dad!) Cons: General expense of....everything! Time for the initial game load (first time use) Downloading games during peak times No headset for 500GB system 500GB system fills up fairly quickly with games (recommend an external hard drive) Did I mention cost? Holy cow, the money that gets wrapped up in these things!!!

Gears of War comes as a downloadable code. This system includes the new controller with 3.5mm jack. Does not include a headset.

After a couple of weeks of use, the Xbox One has not failed, whatsover. I now it is very earlier still, so more use is needed to see how reliable the systems. But the system is a visual upgrade compared to Xbox 360 (I would not say A LOT BETTER, but better). For a heavy gamer, I would NOT recommend the 500GB. The 1TB seems like a better choice. But I am not, so for me, so far, it is sufficient. A similar bundle came a few days after purchase, with the console and game exactly the same, but with the console and controller colored white. Maybe I would have picked that one, or maybe not. Jut FYI, in case you want a differently colored console.

Been waiting for a Gears of War Xbox One Bundle? Well here it is. As a GOW fan I was totally impressed with this remastering of this classic. Then bundle it in with an Xbox One you just can't lose. The Xbox one is a good investment considering that it also has a built in DVD/Blue Ray player. The Xbox one itself has great graphics and sound. Get ready for hours of fun for years to come.

This was a xmas gift for my son. We already had a xbox 1 in the living room so we knew what we were getting. This one does not have a Kinect which, while somewhat nice to have for the voice commands is totally unnecessary. The 500 gig hard drive is nice but if you can afford the extra $100 or so I would get the newer Elite bundle since it has the 1TB drive and the new elite controller. actual quality is good and we have never had any issues with our xbox's in the past.

Gears is the first game that I got when I got my first XBOX 360. It has felt like a homecoming seeing it redone and being able to go through it again. Also the XBOX ONE does a great job of bringing games to life. The Star Wars beta was beautiful to play on this.

Xbox One has really upped their game. With backwards compatibility on it's way my son will be able to play most of his 360 games. I like the new controller design and I really like that I can replace the batteries. The addition of the headphone jack is a bonus. I shopped around and found a bundle at Walmart that Best Buy matched. With Best Buy points it adds up and saves me money. Why buy elsewhere when they price match.

Console is easy to use for gaming purposes. Once I got the hang of the interface (xbox home) I was able to use my console for much more things tying in my entertainment through my console. I have always been a Gears of War fan so having the games this bundled with this new console was a bonus for me. On top of that I purchased during a promotional sale so I got a second free game for free of my choice from Best Buy.

    Rivals PS4 now

I owned an XB1 when it first launched, but that launch was riddled with issues (ram-crashing, freezing, etc.). I ended up trading it in for a PS4. Recently, I decided to get the XB1 after seeing the improvements in the systems. Now, I feel that, along with Microsoft's additions of backwards compatibility and a better Games with Gold feature for XBL, it now rivals, and in some regards, outperforms, the PS4.

Well, you are purchasing a bundle with a remastered version of a 9 year old game.. That aside, it would be nice if Microsoft told you on the box that the 500 gig system only has 380 gigs available due to the amount of space Xbox One's operating system takes up. Then add the 40 gigs required to download Gears of War, because it doesn't come with a disc and you are left with 340 gigs. You get no kinect, no head set, no plug and charge cable... The system and a 9 year old game. I will be returning this.

Definitely a sizeable upgrade over the last generation, but almost disappointing. Has great features, good exclusive games, better controller, GREAT app support from developers when compared to PS4 But it takes FAR too long to sign into your account when booting The menus are not as smooth as the PS4, or even the LAST GENERATION. The menus are stuck at what seems like 30 frames per second while even the Xbox 360 managed a smoother menu browsing. Would recommend Xbox one but only if the person really disliked Sony.
