There's a great game to be enjoyed here, but a lot of strange design decisions that feel like regressions from previous entries in the franchise. The map can be frustrating and the in game tutorials aren't very helpful in explaining the myriad amount of systems going on. A lot of recurring elements that are entertaining at first become annoying after a while, and make you wish there was a button you could press to skip them, or an option in the menu to turn them off. If you're not too bothered by any of that, then I hope you'll have as much fun with the game as I have had.

This is by far my favorite RPG on the switch. The battle system takes a while to get into and fully understand, but it is fun and intricate. The story is 60+ hours, and there isn't a whole lot of grinding necessary. The story though is fantastic! There are some very interesting plot twists, and the characters develop well throughout the game. If you like JRPGs, this is worth checking out.

I found the story of this game moving by the end, and by that time i enjoyed the combat too. I will say it took some frustration getting there.

I recommend this game, but understand it is a JRPG with all the trappings. A deep combat system with multiple layers, and part of the challenge is understanding where it all goes and how it all works. You'll need to grind a bit, and managing your Blades, their weapons, Skills, Aux Cores, Merc Groups, Inventory, Pouch Items, etc. takes time. I'm into that kinda thing, but it needs mentioned. Definitely a game for advanced, and some language means not great for kids. But the portability with the Switch is cool, but this game lends itself to more longer sessions.

This is a great addition to the Zenoblade franchise. A must have for all Switch owners!

I never played the first game, but this one is so good, I plan to go back and play the original. I'm a sucker for open-world RPG's as it is, but the combat mechanics and the sheer amount of modifiable material on each driver and blade is very satisfying (once you figure it out; it takes a while!). If you like JRPG's to any capacity (or if you've never tried one), definitely give this game a go.

It's a solid good RPG. It has great music, interesting worlds, and a fun story.

So I am 40 hours into this game and man it just keeps getting better. Not great intro but gets a lot better story and game wise as you go on.

Cool combat but great music and every-time then songs play its going down.

Ne graphics, great game mechanics, interesting story, the switch is on fire!

While a little more anime-esque in style than the previous Xenoblade Chronicles X for Wii U, this game oozes with style and charm. The gameplay will be familiar to existing Xenoblade players, with some new twists, and also easy to pick up for players new to the franchise (but will take time and effort to master). It also has some of the best voice acting I've heard in a video game.

This game has a terrific story and is fun to play.

I never have the chance to the first Xenoblade Chronicles game. But the combination of JRPG and Nintendo Switch is a great idea, since most of the JRPG game cost tons of hours to finish. It is almost impossible for me to sit in front of my TV for so many hours. But the switch does not have this issue, I can take it wherever I go ( airport, starbucks et al) and enjoy the game.
