Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the deep gameplay, touching story, and immersive world of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, often praising the game's music as well. However, some find the voice acting and battle system to be challenging, while others point to occasional performance and resolution issues, particularly in handheld mode. The map's usability is also a source of some frustration for players.

Have not played it yet but after looking at reviews and how my sons keep asking for it and or about it I am sure it will be a hit on Christmas morning!

Having played the first Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii, I was excited when they announced an actual sequel would be released on the Switch. Combat is smooth and plays similar to the first game, but with some serious improvements. All characters seem to have some way of healing themselves and others. The game's art and environments are gorgeous and I've enjoyed the story so far.

This is my 3rd Xenoblade game (Xenoblade Chronicles, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Xenoblade Chronicles 2), and although there are similarities between all of them this game to me revs up on the story telling. The combat is advanced but once you get it down it becomes second nature. Just like games in the past get ready to spend lots of hours exploring all that it has to offer.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 takes the Monolith Soft combat style to a whole new level. The world is huge & encourages exploration like its predecessors. The deep mechanics & engaging story have to be experienced if you're into JRPGs.

My biggest issue with the game is that it got boring. It has a ton of content and things (be it areas or mechanics) to explore, but after a while, I just stopped caring. For one, if you're going through the story progression and not doing side missions or grinding, it feels like there's a cutscene every 5 seconds, and they're not short cutscenes. Way too much extraneous chitchatting and such. I got to a point where I just skipped them. Didn't even care if I missed plot points (you don't them to play the game anyway). I applaud them for trying--and I never played the first XC, so maybe this is par for the course--but they were trying too hard with all of that. Same sort of thing can be said for the battle system. It was pretty fun, but my god, I don't think they could've packed more mechanics into it if they tried. I swear I spent half my time with the game just going through my inventory/skills/etc. and trying to figure out exactly how things worked. Prima could write a full-fledged guidebook with nothing but the battle system mechanics, it's that complicated. Same goes for side missions and stuff you can do to try to get the most out of your characters and items. I could probably go on, but in short, there is plenty here to occupy your time. For me, a lot of it felt redundant and I actually never even finished the story line because it just dragged on and on and I ultimately stopped caring. If you enjoy that stuff, though, you're going to get your money's worth for sure.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is the spiritual successor to the Wii’s first entry, which is considered one of, if not, the best JRPG of this current decade. It doesn’t disappoint, though it does require patience and a bit of a learning curve to fully enjoy its complex mechanics. Its gorgeous environments and meaningful narrative will keep you engaged during this 80+ hour quest.

This game isn't necessarily groundbreaking, but it scratches a lot of itches. The combat is pretty fun when you get a hang of it (almost 40 hours in and I still don't understand some terminology), and the environments are beautiful. The voice acting is quirky with some. . . interesting. . . choices, but only one character so far has been unforgiveable (Tora). All in all, there are a ton of systems to bury yourself in if you're into that kind of thing, and it's great for short stints or long marathons of playtime.

Honestly, when I first booted up Xenoblade Chronicles 2, I could not believe how well the Nintendo Switch was able to render these graphics. It’s amazing to see such a high quality game being able to be played on a mobile system, not to mention 3+ hours per charge. Its storyline is rich and is perhaps one of the best titles on the market right now.

I don't play this game, but I can tell you from the perspective of a parent - my 13-year-old daughter absolutely loves it! I can say that the graphics are beautiful and gameplay looks like a lot of fun. and my daughter has been playing non-stop. It seems to have some good replay value due to additional content being unlocked by finishing the game.

Xenoblade 2 is a jrpg with a lot packed into it, at times and can overwhelming or just silly but as time goes on the mechanics will blend to make a very enjoyable combat system and the characters will become loveable

Love this game, it’s my first xenoblade game and It had me more hooked than every other game I’ve plays in the pass 5 years. 220 hours to be exact. Fun game, cool fighting(has a small learning curve) but it’s great mixing and matching team combos and strong attacks. GREAT story. It had me invested all the way from start to finish.

Great open world with LOTS to do, this game is a throwback to a lot of classic rpgs. However the game is bogged down by some of its combat and world traversal mechanics. For those that want a comparison to Xenoblade 1: the characters, plot, combat and world of the first game are better. Xenoblade 2 is still a great game, but I found the first game to be an RPG masterpiece and 2 didn't quite live up to my high expectations. Still recommend the game to RPG fans though!

I'm about half way through the story now, and I think the game is great. The combat is a little slow in the beginning, but becomes much more complex as you go through the game as new mechanics are introduced. This is definitely a game that took me a bit of time (2-3 hours) before I began to really enjoy it. Not to say it wasn't fun the first few hours, because I did like it, but it became much more immersive after really getting into the different battle mechanics and skill systems.
