My cousin told me he loved this game. I didn’t believe him and brought it. Now I have no life besides playing this game. Seriously this series is the best and the English and Japanese voices are both amazing. I switch between audios because they are done so well! The story is engaging and compelling. Must have for any Switch owner.

Looks fantastic docked, handheld not so much. Definitely a lot of cut scenes that are long and sorta boring. Exploring the world is super cool though.

I played the first XC game just about a month prior to the release of XC: 2 and I found it to be an amazing game and only hyped me up for the release of this game. Coming into the game, I knew that it was going to be different, but the difference is amazing in its own right. The connection to the first game only solidifies my opinion of this game and would highly recommend it.

I've always wanted to dive into the world of Xenoblade, but never gave either Chronicles or X the chance. When Xenoblade 2 was announced for the Switch, I decided to go all in and see what I was missing. So far, I'm having a good time. Characters are pretty unique and there's a lot to play around with in regards to the combat system; which ultimately make or break the game for new players, but so far, I'm fine with it. I can tell most of my time will be spent exploring vast lands as they seem to go on for miles. The scaling is unbelievable! The inclusion of Japanese audio definitely opened me up to the game more, but I did myself struggling to choose between English and Japanese audio from voice comparison videos. It's a good start and I'm eager to find new blades/upgrades that will better my gameplay style.

If you're looking for an original and innovative RPG for the Switch, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is your game. You'll easily tackle 60+ hours of gameplay filled with enjoyable and strategic combat, myriad quests, and a sublime soundtrack. Gameplay has improved from the original Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles X to see the finest iteration in the series.

Great game, good story so far, and unique combat mechanics. Only downside is that some of the voice acting needs to be muted.

If you own a switch and have time to spare, this is a must own title. The game looks good, especially if you love the anime style and the gameplay is a blast. You can easily dump 100 hours into the game. Story is good as well. If you watch a gameplay video and think this game could be for you, then I would highly recommend it.

Got this on day 1, been looking forward to this. Big fan of the Xeno Saga when it was on PlayStation, played Chronicles on Wii and X on Wii U and Chronicles again on 3DS.
Wasn't sure about the Anime Style of the characters but after the opening part of the game I was sold. Still tons of fun, some wont like the auto combat, don't mind it cause you still have to manage Arts and other aspects.
Worth a look if you like Xeno Blade games or are a JRPG fan.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was my first experience with JRPG, in fact, even with a true RPG. I never enjoyed turn-base combat in games so I usually avoided them. I started looking into Xenoblade when there weren't as many games on the Switch, and this game had been compared to Breath of the Wild, which is possibly my favorite game.
Xenoblade 2 is huge Open-World. I don't remember how long it took me to beat it, but I'm sure I put in 80 hours taking my time through the game and completely most of the side quests. The locations are all gorgeous! And the music is among my favorite of any game I've played, it is a great quality experience.
If you're like me, new to turn-based RPG's, then don't worry, the game is easy to get into. As far as 'turn-based', it's not like older RPG's where you weren't able to move around, or it switched to a new battle screen when you fight.. Xenoblade gives you the ability to move around freely, and your character will simply continue attacking. As you press different attacks, it will switch at the next time your character attacks. It's less about skill of timing like Zelda Breath of the Wild, but more about strategy and leveling up before taking on a stronger enemy. The complexity of attacks between your blade and driver are the most difficult thing, but also to most fun. You collect blades (powerful assistant characters) throughout the game, and each one has different skills.
I really enjoyed the story of the game, but it is at times a bit cheesy, kind of in the same genre as a lot of Anime. The DLC on the other hand, is actually darker and more serious I think. The gameplay is completely different but an awesome addition to the game.
Overall, If your like big huge adventures with technical gameplay, you'll really enjoy the game. The story is very interesting, it can get pretty deep/dark at times, great for me, but maybe a bit much for young children. My only downside is that although I really really like all the characters in the game, I feel like they went way overboard on the Female character designs. Many of them are partial to mostly naked. There aren't any sexual themes if I remember correctly, but even the main girl Pyra (on the cover) is basically in underwear and has an enormous chest. Spoiler free, she has different outfits/versions later that show more in different areas.

As a successor to what is regarded as one of the best JRPGs of the last 10 years, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 had a lot to live up to. I'm happy to report it does. It's an enthralling adventure with a very, very deep combat system and a great cast of characters. The game is also long. Very long, and deep. All good things, though.

I personally enjoy this game a lot. I have not actually got to play it myself but have been watching my husband play as it was a gift for him. it has a good story line so far and a good battle system. I will say that the voice acting is a little "off" in some roles or spots but that for sure does not ruin the game for us.
