Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the deep gameplay, touching story, and immersive world of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, often praising the game's music as well. However, some find the voice acting and battle system to be challenging, while others point to occasional performance and resolution issues, particularly in handheld mode. The map's usability is also a source of some frustration for players.

It's a game. It should be fun. It is. Job done. Specifically, there's a mildly interesting story that you follow to make your character(s) more and more powerful. The only comment I'd really say is that the game is a bit suggestive and it might not be appropriate depending on your family values. If you're concerned, look at some gameplay samples to get an idea.

If you're looking a gigantic JRPG for your Nintendo Switch look no further this is your game. It's very complex but don't let that put you off because the tutorials do a decent job of showing you the ropes. Plays like a single-player MMO in my opinion.

This game is a great follow up to the previous entires in the series. The fact I can resume play in portable mode is just convenient while away from the tv. Check this out for the Switch if your into jrpgs or rpgs in general. You won’t be disappointed.

This one is a really good game. I am not sure if it's as good as the original because I haven't finished it yet but so far so good. These games are very long and take many hours to complete. Overall a must own for JRPG fans that own a switch.

    - Great Story. - Gameplay takes getting used to. But once you do, your doing damage in the 100,000's. - Exploration is now more Tall based. - Characters have plot. I played over 60hours, and I'm still just halfway done with the story.

Good Story, but exhausting battle system

I’m about 60 hours in and maybe halfway through the story, and I’m hooked. The battle system took a little while to get and the “spongy” enemies (literally all of them have a massive amount of hp) can lead to boring sections in the early game, but once the pace of the story picks up it is hard to put the controller down (fortunately the system is extremely portable). I recommend this game for anyone interested in the Xenoblade series, but do warn newcomers that it can take a bit to get going. The scope of each region in the game is massive and the idea of exploring each corner of the world is definitely appealing. So far I’m loving it and believe I’ve only scratched the surface of the game so far.

I had to look over several reviews from video game websites due the mixed reception. Some reviewers complained about the voice acting, characters, the complicated battle systems, and the performance of the game in handheld mode. I will address these factors as they were my main concerns when purchasing the game. The voice acting and the character designs do not bother me. The voice acting fits the main characters just fine. The voice of the villains do come off as a little cheesy. After hours of playing the main characters Rex and Prya have grown on me. I have no problem with the battle system. Unlike other RPGs this is not turn based combat. Combat takes place in real time and you have to manage your team. Your main character auto attacks and you can move around during battle for better attack positions, during this time your gauge will also fill up special attacks. I find the combat enjoyable although some enemies take longer to beat than I would want. I find the performance in handheld mode satisfactory, a patch was launched in late December so perhaps that fixed performance issues other players were experiencing when the game first launched. I have not experienced any slow down, the game runs smoothly for me. This game is also highly influenced by Anime, perhaps that might be a turn off for some players. Overall if your looking for a game that delivers massive worlds to explorer with a cast of anime inspired characters and real time combat, I highly recommend Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Oh yeah, I really love the gorgeous soundtrack.

This game has a very steep learning curve and isn't super helpful in teaching everything. After a few googles of how to unlock perks in your blades though, you'll eventually learn how to do all the various combos and driver combos.

Now JRPG's are not for everyone. But Monolith Soft improved on the previous installments and again immersive, addictive gameplay. And I feel improved on the battle mechanics. A must have if you enjoyed the previous Xenoblades.

Bought this for my rpg fanatic husband. He says it's hard to figure out at first but great game play and depth. Lots of side quests and leveling up. Reviewers say 120+ hours. If you want your money's worth this is the ticket.

I was a huge fan of the original Xenoblade Chronicles, and this one lived up to the expectations set by the first. Gorgeous world, amazing music, and a fun combat system. Definitely plan on sinking 100+ hours into this one.

I never played any of the previous Xenoblade games before but XC2 helps get you adjusted and comfortable with the gameplay easily enough. It has some great storytelling and good combat (albeit a little awkward at first).

Honestly, after Xenoblade Chronicles 1, I did not think I would ever find a game with a story as compelling, but lo-and-behold, Xenoblade 2 manages to become my GOTY. In my opinion, I enjoyed this game immensely more than Zelda or Super Mario on the Switch. The JRPG style is implemented very successfully here, with loads of quests and stories that will keep you playing. I have logged nearly 300 hours in this game and I hope to add more with the release of story DLC coming sometime later this year!

An interesting JRPG that uses mostly scottish voice actors which is refreshing although it's a bit jumbly at times seeing really tropey animations coupled with Scottish dialogue. Not a bad thing, but jarring sometimes. Very good so far after 20 hours in, complex but dynamic combat system and a pretty good story.

It is a very fun game with better gameplay than the first two games. Story is self-contained, so you do not have to have knowledge of the previous games to enjoy this one. When comparing it to the other two, its story is better than Xenoblade Chronicles X, but below the original Xenoblade Chronicles. There are a lot of blades (extra party members)to collect with their own unique strengths to allow for increased strategy and further increase the fun had in the game.

As of now, i am around 2 hours in the game. The story seems pretty engaging so far, but the graphics only looks good in docked mode. In handheld mode, this game looks pretty horrible with resolutions that look ps vita like. It's no legend of Zelda, but I would give this game a solid score of a 7.5
