I'm a guy who's really tired of open world games, since they all feel the same. This manages to combine the open world concept with the story depth and intricacy of a JRPG in a way I haven't experienced before. I never finished Skryim or Red Dead because I got bored, but every hour I spend playing this just flies by. There's always something to be doing that feels meaningful, and the quality of life features are incredible. I never played anything in the Xenoblade series before, but once I finish this (I'm savoring the story) I plan to move on to others in the series. Everything about this title is great -- amazing music, very dynamic and cool voice acting, a story that's made me feel actual feelings, the works. This is a really good bet for any fans of RPGs, JRPGs, etc.

Fantastic game. Huge world to explore, exciting story and it plays better on the Switch rather then the WIIU where I owned this first. This is a rerelease but it is the definitive edition after all.

I actually owned this game on the wii, but ended up buying the switch one since i logged over 100 hours on the wii version. compelling story, strategic game-play, and great graphics! What more can you ask for?!?

The best JRPG of a generation. The definitive edition enhances the graphics and textures and has some quality of life features improving upon the original Wii release. Not perfect in its performance with the resolution being “dynamic” so even in dock it can dip below 720p which is disappointing if you’re playing on a big tv. But I’m guessing there’s going to be a performance patch from Nintendo soon.

This game is HUGE! It starts of with an epic story and pulls you through with so much excellent RPG gameplay! Im still working on finishing it, but I look forward to playing every time I turn on my Switch!

Amazing game. I've spent hours and hours playing it. The story is great, battle system is fun, music is gorgeous. I can't recommend this one enough if you're a fan of RPGs.

This game rules. As a long time JRPG player, this hits all the good nostalgia buttons from my youth, while bursting with contemporary quality of life features. A really good game.

This is regarded as one fo the best JRPGs for good reason, and this remaster makes it even better. 100% worth it and provides hours of content with fantastic gameplay and a stellar story.

The Xenoblade Chronicles are such a great RPG franchise. This version has many improvements as opposed to earlier versions of this game. Great story, big open world, and fun gameplay!

This game offers a stellar, gripping story, breathtaking landscapes intertwined with majestic soundtracks and fun, engaging gameplay. If you love JRPGS, you should absolutely buy this game.

I originally played XC:DE on the Nintendo 3DS several years ago and I really enjoyed it but never got around to finishing it unfortunately. This version is better in every way! The graphical improvements make the entire world look much more beautiful and vibrant than it did on the 3DS. Well, to be fair, the 3DS version was fine considering its constraints. However, the overall experience is so much nicer with the ability to play on a larger screen. The story is really good and the gameplay, while somewhat simplistic at first, opens up a lot as you progress. I'm having a blast with this game so far and I'd recommend it!

A wonderful game to play, would highly recommend. The world is vast and full of things to do, the gameplay is top notch, and the story is really well written.

Somehow even better after all these years. I had the original XC on Wii and never got around to finishing it due to all the complicated systems and frankly the fuzzy graphics. Enter XC:DE and I have to say not only does the game hold up but some of the tweaks and adjustments make the game so much better. On top of all that the refreshed and upsacled resolution make the game world feel much more vibrant and alive. I think this game is much better than XC2 overall particularly this version.

This game is always regarded as one of the best games to get for the Nintendo Switch. After beating it, I would have to agree. While it is not as good as other exclusives like BOTW or super Mario odyssey, it is still very good. The characters, music, and story are very good. The only issue is the side missions are beyond generic.

A really great game. The story is awesome, and although the game play is probably not for everyone, if you do enjoy it there are countless hours of entertainment here.

My favorite game of ALL TIME is finally in HD and I couldn't have been more excited for this game (I even got it a day early, thanks Best Buy!). The game PLAYS phenomenally with a ton of QOL improvements and the story is top notch (especially when you get to Chapter 9) but the visuals are pretty lack luster. The world itself looks great in during the game's day cycle thanks to the new lighting but you can obviously tell it's a Wii game when it's at night. The rain effects also haven't been updated so it kind of takes you out of the "remaster" experience by basically doing nothing but making the screen look fuzzy. Handheld mode also looks pretty lackluster, with it's resolution sometimes even dropping below the original Wii version. Character animations are clunky as hell as those also haven't been updated and those also take you out of the remaster experience when you're in the non pre-rendered custscenes (just look at Melia's walking animation...). BUT when the game is in it's pre rendered cut scenes it looks AMAZING with all of the characters models getting almost complete make overs. (The game is VERY long and it has a bonus story that's accesible at any time but I haven't gotten to that part yet.)

This is a great a great game and great definitive addition. Having it on the go with the Switch is even better. So far loving the story and the game play.
