I was skeptical to go with an AMD gpu. I have always been an nvidia fanboy. I am extremely impressed with this card. Has outperformed all my expectations. Everyone said they had driver issues but that seems like years ago. Absolutely zero issues here. Just make sure you have a large case. I have a Corsair 4000d and I had to dremel the support bracket to fit my front fans.

Fantastic gaming gpu.. I have no idea why people are down on these cards by AMD I know they had driver issues but this thing is a beast and I think they have figured out the driver side of things card performs fantastic. I have a 4080 in my other system and I like this card better. Handles anything I throw at it with ease. Highly recommend

This is one of the best AIB cards you can get. I ended up returning it to get a 4090, but if you're into AMD, this is the way to go (do not get the reference cards - they run too hot).

I decided to give Team Red a try this time around and was looking for a little bit of an upgrade from my 3080 10GB for World of Warcraft. I game on a 32:9 LG 144hz 5120x1440 display. After weighing the pros and cons of the 4080 and 4090 I snagged one of these expecting some major uplift and I was sorely disappointed. The card itself is large and in charge and wonderfully built. It is aesthetically beautiful and the industrial placing of the "XFX" logo is nice. In terms of build quality, it is close to a 10. I used the newest drivers as of 1/7/2023 and 1/20/2023 with a clean install of Windows 10 and 11 (dual boot). 12900k @ 5.1ghz all core e-cores off Arctic Cool LF II 420mm Asus Strix Z690 D4 Motherboard 2x16GB DDR4 B-Die 4000 CL16-17-17-36 Resizable Bar ON The verdict? Everything set to Ultra 10, scaling to 98%, Super Fidelity on, RT disabled...Using repeatable flight point runs in Ardenweald, the 7900XTX is about 26% faster with GPU being utilized 100% (122fps vs 97fps) Same settings RT on, the 7900XTX is about 1.33% faster. (76fps vs 75fps). I prefer RT on so the cards are equal. Even with it off, it is only 26% faster than a 3080 10GB. The card runs rather cool under load both GPU and hot spot running 56 and 74 respectively while fans were under 40%. I gave it a Timespy run to make sure it was running up to spec and it scored a nice and healthy 30334 GPU score boosting up to 2670mhz. As always, your game results will vary depending on title chosen. Make sure to check which titles you run and seek out comparative results before buying since. For example if you run Modern Warfare II, this card is closer to 4090 performance than 4080. Unfortunately it just isn't a good World of Warcraft card.

Been using it for about 5 months now. And then I got the dreaded pixels. I tried using another GPU in my motherboard in the same slot to make sure it's not a motherboard issue. but nope. that one was running fine. Then when I plugged this one back in to make sure it wasn't a fluke. I was getting no picture at all. The GPU was spitting out a 60hz signal that I could see my monitor reciving but it was all black. I tried my iGPU and it showed the 7900XTX at some weird resolution in the windows settings. The value of this card is great but maybe don't go with XFX. Try sapphire or asus or gigabyte. Which is a bit of a shame since the XFX card has the best design out of all the 7900xtx's out right now. I'm using a 1000w 80+ Platinum rated PSU (bequiet Dark Power 13) so it defintely wasn't being under powered.

    XFX Gaming Goodness!!

Lets start by saying that I got this as a gift from my loving wife, who purchased it at BestBuy. I have long been an XFX fan having owned many of their products in my 20+ years of building computers. Always had a great experience. Had a XFX Merc 6900XT in one of my home computers and it was excellent, so I was excited to check this 7900 XTX out. First off, it's long (but looks amazing). So be aware of that as it won't fit everyone's case and be prepared to have 3 PCI 8 pin power cables and at least 850W for this beast. Right off the bat it is fast and quiet. At 100% gpu load the fans were sitting at around 35% and temps were around 54C edge and 70C hot spot. Amazing results compared to my reference model which were about 10C higher for both at 60% fan speed under the same load. But the real magic with this card is when you uncork it, with reduced voltage to 1.08v, +15% power limit, +10% memory with fast timings and upping peak frequency to 3.2Ghz, this thing flies. Obviously silicon lottery is present here, but this thing averaged almost 3.1Ghz playing assassins creed Valhalla all the while temps never hit 60C with only 40% fan speed. Which is good because the fans do start to get a bit noisy once they hit about 50% speed. Downside here is that power consumption went through the roof at almost 450W. That is one hungry gpu, but thankfully it can handle it. Very impressed. Compared to my 4080 FE, once they are overclocked, the XFX Merc stretches it's legs and is a good amount faster in most games. Unless there is Ray Tracing where the 4080 is usually faster, but I game at 4k and RT is just too demanding most the time for either card even with DLSS or FSR Quality modes, so I leave it off almost always. If you want to run RT at 4k, I think the 4090 is the only real option for playable frame rates. Everything said, at the original MSRP of $1099, this XFX Merc310 7900XTX rocks for 4k gaming. It is great looking, cools amazing, OC's like a monster, but is also huge and consumes lots of power if you let it, but thankfully you can control that. Have fun gaming!

Absolute monster of a card. Performance Example w/ 7800x3d & 32 gb of 6000 mhz ddr5: Running division 2 @: 1440p (165 hz) , maxed out settings , 16.2 gb vram in use, 95% gpu useage, avg. Temps ~60 c ( hotspot 73 c), 3,092 mhz w/ gpu overclocked. **FPS = 205.7 average**. Handles every single demanding AAA with ease. Does ray tracing reasonably well in cyberpunk (all effects on and @ medium), but impressive nonetheless, considering its much cheaper than its 4080 competitor. It is power hungry - the aforementioned performance drew 400 - 430 watts of board power. Additionally, it requires 3 8-pin connectors. Anyways, coming from a 6800xt - it is an excellent upgrade. Get it!

It's a shame AMD isn't aiming for the high end for its' next gen graphics because they're all in for frame generation, which I'm against. But because they went in for high this gen, we get this 7900 XTX. This thing can definitely take on 4k at high settings and you should be fine. If you target 120hz @ 4k you should be fine for a while. All the while, the XFX version of this card, for me, stays cool, around 72C which means it's doing its' job at removing the heat from the die and transferring it to the case. Which can be bad if you have an air cooled cpu or top exhaust water cooled cpu. Bonus though, you get a free heater while you play games. This card alone will actively heat up my room from 72F to 80F in a matter of 30 mins to 1 hour. It's insane lol. And crashes still exist for AMD unfortunately. Not often, but like once a week if you play daily. OVERALL, I'm happy enough with the cards performance. And I at one point had a 4090 but had to get rid of it for other reasons.

The card, just like 7900 xt, is massive. I have it installed in a CoolerMaster Storm Stryker and can almost use the drive bays as anti-sag bracket. The card is a beast though. On the games I play I've seen power draw upwards of 389W, I haven't flipped to the performance bios yet. My temps have been roughly 79 degrees on the hot spot. I had a rtx 2080 and a 5th gen intel processor before. Now I'm running this card and a 5800x. Such a major improvement in FPS. Playing God of War at 3440x1440 I can average over 110 FPS. Though I wish the card was a bit more power efficient and cheaper, I love it. Unfortunately I feel that GPU's are going to become our desktops. (Both size wise and Pricing)

The card comes with a support bracket, which makes the card slightly longer. I was building in a 4000D airflow so I had to offset one of the fans on the front of my pc for the card to fit properly. Despite cards being lengthy in the generation, this card performs as expected. A value Beast with excellent performance and cooling. I Have no issue maxing out my M27Q-P @ 1440p 165 Fps. So far I have tested New World and God of War maxed settings. I do have it connected to my 50 inch X90J with the intent to try 4k 120 at a later time. Davinci Resolve runs smoothly and Amd 's capture software is as good as other software for content streaming. All in all. I recommend this purchase to anyone who is looking to upgrade.

After spending plenty of time gaming on this card in addition to all the other components I've gotten as a part of this system I can happily say I have no regrets purchasing this card the time I did. It appears that the majority of kinks that this card had at its inception have been resolved to a great extent. Not only that but its performance relative to its competitor is fantastic and for a much more accessible price (as accessible as a on average $1k card can be at this time). Truly I believe this card will get me through the next couple years and hold up even better than the old 1070ti that I've had on my previous system.
