Disappointed. Printer Failure and NO Support!

I am extremely disappointed in the Xyzprinting - Da Vinci Minimaker 3d Printer. The advertising and video make it look as though this could be used by a child. Do not let the bright colors fool you! Your 3D Printer comes with no Start Up Guide. Instead it sends you to their website to watch videos. Two tech savvy adults and a 17 year old have made repeated attempts to get this up and running. We have contacted the manufacturer 4 times and have sent them pictures of our print failure. We get one layer of print and then a blob. After that, we began getting filament pouring out of the printer head. A friend of ours who works with high end printers said that this is typical of a printer head problem. This has been ongoing for three weeks. Customer Service is virtually non-existent and they certainly don't support their product. I do NOT recommend at all. Spend more and go with a different manufacturer that supports their product!

For beginners and above. Looks Play School Prints Professional. Not just for rookies. First thing that makes it seems (for children) is the color. Don't judge it by it's color..The second is the fact that it's easy to set-up and operate. Less than an hour from box to print. Downfall. If it matters. You must only buy/use filament spools from da Vinci or it won't work due to a chip in the spool that reads when it is empty and you cannot re-spool it. The chip is done, garbage. Not such a bad thing because daVinci filaments has an average price point. Only bad if your color is out of stock... Other than that, one of the better, easiest set-up and operation 3D printers. At a good price.

Bought this 3D printer for my 12 yr old Granddaughter for Christmas. Easy to assemble the few parts that needed to be setup. Found the plate to be a little slippery so we put painters tape on the plate and used some stick glue that the kids use for school on the tape and voila works like a charm. I was not expecting the quality to be as amazing as it turned out to be! The detail is incredible for an entry level 3D printer. My granddaughter has made numerous "gifts" for family and friends. Jewelry box for her mom, remote control holders for the family. Presents for friends. Love it!

This is a great product for children interested in trying 3D printing. It is slow and sometimes sticks to the tray and ruins the printed item, even if you follow the directions perfectly.

I bought this 3d printer with a very good price. This is really good not just for kids but for beginners as well. A very useful tool especially for builders or for those who likes to invent something.

Not happy that you have to use only zxy prnting filament due to their chip in the spool making this a cost prohibitive

    Nicely Built and Affordable!

Best part about the unit is that it has a 6 inch built volume, which is believable for its 15ish pound weight and $249 price point. Can't beat it! My 6 years old son loves the printer too because the color matches his legos!

    Proprietary Filament

While this seems like a great price at $149 you will end up paying more for this one over time as you have to buy proprietary XYZ filament. Not only will this make prints more expensive but will limit you to the types of filaments sold by XYZ. Definitely a no-go on this printer.
