    Yakuza 0 = Great!!!

Great game. Even though graphics were not upgraded that much from the anticipated PS3 release the game looks fantastic. A Japanese take on GTA it fits right into the conversion of a sandbox game, with great fighting styles and has great potential to invoke a new series on PlayStation fans!

    Broken packaging

Giving a one star rating just because I can't go lower. Ordered online and chose to pick up in-store. The box was all tore up and they told me they couldn't get me another one or a refund, so I'm stuck with a damaged copy that I was supposed to give as a gift to a friend. Is this your quality standard Best Buy? Never buying again from you.

    Mr Shakedown Approves!

    Fun, Side quests

    Combat

The game is every bit of amazing and it always get better with each game in the series. I been a supporter of Yakuza since PS2 and this game is the pinnacle the series have been reaching for. The side quest are funny and interesting with each incounter. The combat is downright fun to play to me, its like Shenmue meets Streets of Rage with sprinkled with Final Fantasy on top. -Want to meet a dominatrix and help her become better at it? It's here. -Want to meet a "Steven Spielberg and Michael Jackson?" Its here. -Want to spend terrifying nights running away from a overpowered man who is 8 feet tall? Yep that's here. -Want to spend all your time at an old VHS adult shop? -Do you like drinking Mountain Dew and beating up people to get a kid's video game back? -What about simply just enjoying the food, liquor, entertainment of 80's Tokyo? But all of this...ALL OF THIS is good fun! There haven't been a shortage of side quest that wasn't hilarious / strange / or shocking and this is what videos games should do. Finally Yakuaza is getting the recognition it deserves after all these years. HOPEFULLY SEGA WILL LISTEN AND PUT MORE YAKUZA GAMES OUT FASTER IN THE WEST NOW (AND PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2.)

My friend bought this and told me to say it was “really freakin good”. I also have a digital copy of this game that I love. The combat is fun, the story is engaging even for newcomers to the series like me. But more than that the side content and shenanigans you can get into while avoiding the main quest line is where it shines for me. I have sunk an obscene amount of hours into Majima’s cabaret club, gone gambling maybe too many times, and done as many side quests as I could get my hands on. And I definitely haven’t seen everything! So there’s a lot of well done content to enjoy here.

I knew what I was getting into when I bought this game and it is everything I could have hoped for and more. There is so much to do in the city sections that it just doesn't feel old. It's like if you're going through a regular City. Plus all the sub stories just make everything lived in and you will not run out of things to do. Yes this game is a crime drama but it has so much more goofy stuff.

Everything i want in a game... a world of WHAT THE .... from dancing to bowling... to beating people with trash cans with wacky kung fu karate type stuff!!! I DONT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING THEIR SAYING EITHER!!! LOL THANK YOU SUBTITLES. This is not sarcasm either... this game is all over the place and i love it. Im tired of the typical American shooter... thank you Japan & SEGA for something so different. I'd buy 50 copies of this game out of support if i could BUY THIS GAME SO MORE OF THEM WILL GET RELEASED IN NORTH AMERICA

A simpler time to be in a yakuza family. Rampant corruption and scheming amongst clan members. The prequel to your favorite characters from Yakuza Kiwami are up to their shenanigans from bottom to the top. Another great addition to the Yakuza franchise if you're into these kind of games.

Awesome game! Great series overall. If you like story driven games, This is the one for you. Story gets real deep, it sinks you into the game like you are watching a movie. Also the game is long :) very long.

Definitely a great start to the Yakuza series. Despite the game being released in 2015, the graphics and gaming mechanics are way ahead of their time. Can’t wait to continue playing the series.

125 hours, I've beaten the story and am just finishing up some post-game hoopla to prep my clear save data for the new game plus. This was the first Yakuza game I've ever played and I've been playing games since '85.

I didn't do a lot of research when I purchased the game. When I first started playing it, I thought it was a cool yakuza story with a lot of actions. After finishing the game for the first time, I realize I have spent more than 107 hours on it. It actually has more content than any other games I have played so far. Besides the main story, the game has a lot of side quests and mini games. I also like the combat system, and its in-game tutorial to learn and upgrade the characters' skills.

The Yakuza games are excellent. If you enjoy role-playing games, Japan, gangsters, a serious story, goofy moments to alleviate the serious moments, etc. then get this game. Even if you don't find these thing interesting, please give it a try. It's not just GTA in Japan like people say, it's much more.

The prequel that started it all!

This game is called Yakuza 0 because it is a prequel to the mainline Yakuza series which have now spawned 6 games about the life of Kazuma Kiryu. Here we meet Kazuma at a young age before he became a big shot in the Yakuza world. Unlike the "Kiwami" series, this game isn't a remaster of a previously released PS2/PS3 game but it was made for the PS4 from the start, thus the graphics quality and detail is very good and the gameplay feels tighter. If you're on the fence whether you want to invest your time and money on the whole Yakuza series, I suggest you buy this one first to see if this is your cup of tea and whether you like Kazuma Kiryu as a protagonist, as he is the one who will carry the next six games you will play in this series.

This was a great game, and one of my all time favorites. It was also the first Yakuza game I've played. It is a prequel to the rest of the series, so it is a great starting point.
