Customers are saying

Customers are overwhelmingly positive about Yakuza 0's gameplay, story, and the sheer amount of content, including side quests and mini-games. Many appreciate the unique fighting styles and the immersive Japanese-inspired open world. However, some players expressed minor concerns regarding the subtitles and controls, while others found the frequency of cutscenes to be excessive. Overall, the positive feedback on the core gameplay loop significantly outweighs the negative comments.

The Yakuza games have always had a special charm to them. This one is the best yet. You don't need to have played the previous ones. The story is incredibly deep with lots of twists that will keep you guessing. There are numerous side quests that are very well written. There will be tear jerking ones and there will also be ones that will have you howling with laughter. There's also so many activities to do. You can build and race model cars, sing karaoke, join an underground fight club, own a real estate business, etc... so many things to do! This is definitely must own game for any owner of a PS4.

I've played 3 and 4, but to me this surpasses both of those. Great story, action and I am enjoying tons of time with the mini games like pool, darts and poker.

This is the first Yakuza game I have given a shot and it did not disappoint. This is a story-driven open world game with great characters and almost too much to do. The 'side quests' are great because they are short but also can make you laugh out loud or move you emotionally. As long as you leave your comparisons to GTA at the checkout counter, this is a game you could fall in love with if you have any interest in the Yakuza series. P.S. I've now pre-ordered Yakuza 6 and bought Yakuza Kiwami to play when I'm done with Yakuza 0...just saying.

Was highly recommended as a good game, which it is. However, I did not know how many cut scenes and learning stuff there would be in it. Has a good flighting, arcade type feel I would say. Also has lots of open world and lots of realism which is fun mixed with the obscene combat and goofy overall demeanor, being a serious game. It has a good story line which makes the perfect yin and yang of the formentionted

Yakuza Comes West in a Big Way

Yakuza was a game series that has existed since the PS2 days, however, it has not seen a Western release at all until this game came along. This game has it all. Baseball, gambling, arcade, darts, pool and oh did I mention that there's actually a compelling story with all of this? This is kind of the Japanese GTA game, but even calling it that isn't quite giving it the justice that it deserves. It is a unique game for sure, and an experience that most will enjoy. Don't miss out on this one.

First off, I'm a huge fan of the Yakuza series. This one is in my opinion the best so far! It has an amazing (oscar worthy) storyline with a great cast of characters. The graphics is breathtaking and both Shinjuku and Osaka were very well recreated with the 1980s feel. The combat system is fun. I can't rave enough about this game. Please do yourself a favor and buy it, you won't regret it! Since it's a prequel, you don't need any prior knowledge of the game to enjoy its deep storyline.

I've been playing this series since the first one on PS2, it never fails to disappoint me with its gameplay and story and everything, and feels so nostalgic to see this game coming back to West, hope they bring every yakuza to West on PS4, can't wait for yakuza kiwani so excited.

This game is an absolute joy. If you love Japanese culture and pop-culture, this is definitely a game to check out. It is entirely in Japanese (with English subtitles of course), so if that's not your thing, then keep that in mind. Gameplay-wise, it's an action brawler with some RPG mechanics and a crazy, awesome story about underground Japanese crime. If that sounds like something you'd be into, check it out! And it's set in the 80s!

If you're a fan of any of the other Yakuza games then this won't be anything ground breaking. To compensate for less people in the game you get more "fighting styles". However, the game doesn't deviate too far from the formula. Open world with a TON of side quest. To put it into perspective I'm like 8 hours in and only gone through 2 chapters. I would recommend this as a starter game to get into yakuza if you're a little intimated by getting into the series.

Started playing Yakusa Kiwami then switched to Yakusa Zero because of the timeline. It was great to see all the main characters in the years before Kiwami. You get a much different take on the fan favorites like Goro Majima. Combat is varied and smooth but never outshines the story which contains surprises at regular intervals. Found the shooting-vehicle chase mechanics frustrating but that's not a big part of the game

if you've never placed the yakuza games before during the ps2 era, then this is a great start. the story is engrossing and starts the story of the dragon. i do not want to spoil anything, as the yakuza games have always been about its dramatic story (some can say it is a japanese soap opera), superfluous minigames, eccentric sidequests, and also combat. after playing this game, i was fortunate enough to be able to find a reprint of yakuza 1 and 2 on ps2 brand new. be warned though, playing 1 or even 2 of these games can burn you out real quick. overall, this is a good game worthy of a purchase (bought day 1 for the business card holder). in conclusion, would really love a physical copy of yakuza 5 - hopefully.

Bit more button tapping than I'd like but the box was definitely worth Black Friday prices. Be sure to buy skills with your money or you're gonna get your butt kicked by the bosses
