Yakuza 0 tells the origin story of Kiryu Kazuma in his formative Yakuza years. The story and characters are incredibly detailed and engaging, and there's no lack of things to do, from brawling and bowling to singing karaoke and dancing. This is a fantastic game that gives a dramatic glimpse into the heart of the 1980s Japanese underbelly.

I have only played one other Yakuza game and wondered why they never made it to the West. Well I was surprised when I heard Yakuza 0 was coming to the US. I pre-ordered and I do not regret it one bit. The story is amazing and the combat doesn't get old and is very fun. If you are on the fence just go ahead as you will not be disappointed.

As a long time fan, this has the best story and gameplay in the franchise. Lots of depth and extra things to do. It is equal parts serious and dramatic as it is quirky and lighthearted. With it being a prequel to the other games, it's a perfect place to start for anyone on the fence of giving it, and the series as a whole, a try.

Filled with neat references to later games in the series, complimenting the fun story elements, Yakuza 0 serves as a good origin. The arcade like gameplay and variety of activities always brings a new and welcome change up to the world. Must buy for all Yakuza fans

this game was my first foray into the yakuza games. I was always intrigued because I would always hear that the games are both series in tone as well as very silly. this game perfects that balance the story is serious, sometimes heart wrenching but the world you're given to explore as well as the side missions are hilarious.

This is my first Yakuza game. If you are a fan of action games and crime dramas this is a must buy. Amazing game.

I've always wanted to get into the Yakuza franchises and this game was an opportunity for a perfect start! This game takes place before the events of Yakuza 1 which was for ps2. There are a TON of side missions and fun little events to do around town. It's a lot like gta but minus the car jacking. Game is so much fun!

Like for many people, Yakuza 0 will be their first entry to the Yakuza video games. Yakuza 0 sets up an intriguing story that will keep you interested with enough side quests and mini-games to keep you entertained. Plenty of things to do and enough areas to explore make the game a worthwhile investment of your time.

Yakuza is a sort of spiritual successor to Sega classic Shenmue, replicating Japan in the 80s to a level of detail you can smell Kabuki-Cho if you've been there. I would have given this one five stars, but I'm still far from finishing it and, who knows, the story might fall apart in the end. At this point in time, I'm loving it. It's an intensely story-driven experience. So, if lengthy cut scenes aren't your thing, steer clear of this. The story, however, is absolutely incredible, as is the voice acting. The combat is satisfying, the characters are memorable, and everything about is so unmistakably Japanese - it has personality to spare!

This was my first time diving into the franchise. For those looking to get started with the series, this is definitely the first game you should pick up. The game is action-packed from start to finish and the story is well written with so many twists and turns. Highly Recommend!

This game was great throughout the whole experience. The variety in terms of the amount of things you're able to do and focus on is immense, which serves to keep you entertained. The story and gameplay are both great. This was my personal game of the year and I highly recommend it.

I have not finished this game yet, but so far I am really enjoying this game. The combat is really incredible and often funny,violent,over the top or all of the above. Please pick up this game if you enjoy a great open world game with violence, compelling story, and lots of laughs along the way.

Yakuza definitely is a niche game to most. I love it for the great story and characters, but the fighting mechanics is clunky and outdated - basically a button masher. But otherwise a great game.

Action beat em up with a great story line. It’s like playing Shenmue again. Overall great game.

It's a fun game with plenty to do. Dont want to play the story? Play one of the many minigames available. It's what makes the game have a ton of playability. The story is also great of what I've played. The combat is nice and fluid as well and its incredibly satisfying.

The Yakuza series are all excellent, but this takes the cake. This serves as the prequel to the series and that, along with it's many refinements, makes this a great starting point to anyone new to Yakuza. This is an action packed brawler with a bit of RPG elements as you upgrade your characters and equip them to be ready for battle. Lots of insane fighting moves, finishers, weapons, and insane situations keep any battle on the mean Tokyo/Kyoto streets from getting dull. On top of that, the two available cities are open to explore with tons of side games to play such as bowling, dancing, slot car racing, gambling on foxy wrestling, and real 80's Sega arcade hits like Space Harrier and Outrun. Whether you can get the business edition or not, you need this game in your life.

This game is balls to the wall fun. Amazing yakuza crime story with lots of funny side quests. Lots to do including arcades, batting cages, bowling, drinking, shooting pool and other games. Its an adventure, brawler, rpg. The beat downs are super satisfying. Trust me just buy this game.
