The Yale Assure Lock 2 is not only impressive to look at, it's also easy to install. Yale even provides a template to make sure the lock will work with your door and the app includes tutorial videos to walk you through the installation process. Simply remove the old lock and follow the step-by-step instructions in the app. It was a perfect replacement for my other lock and looks great. I can use the app to lock/unlock the door, and set up a code for use with the touchpad. I did have to call tech support to find the correct sequence of button pushing to get it to work. However, even that was simple, really fast, and their support team was great. (answer - press "Yale, your code, and the "check mark") There's also an option to set a guest code so you don't have to share yours! The app also shows you the status of the lock and notifies you when it's opened or closed. It connected easily with my home Wifi, and can even be operated via Apple Home Kit, Apple Watch, or with Amazon Alexa. My wife was concerned that the installation might scratch the finish of our new door, but Yale has done an excellent job of making sure everything fits, is flush with your door, and looks great. This is a beautiful lock and no more keys!

The installation process was really easy. Just download the app, register and link the product with the serial number, then review the installation instructions on the app. The hardware is not very difficult to install on a door that already has a deadbolt, just remove the old hardware and install this new hardware. Afterwards you insert the batteries and the included wifi module in the lock, then continue on with the app and you are pretty much good to go at this point, your phone app will give you a button to press to unlock the unit or lock the unit. Pros: Well built and Simple to install, not much time is used at all setting up everything. Super easy app to understand and use - the app allows you to define a door code for yourself to use the keypad as well as setup guest accounts, names / codes, which is fantastic for setting up everyone in the family their own unique code. Cons: The install went super smooth for me and everything just worked, I really had no complaints on this device. Overall I would recommend this lock to anyone wanting a good simple to use 'key-free' lock.

Yale did a great job designing an easy to install, easy to set up smart lock. This is our second Yale smart lock, but our first with wifi connectivity. Our front door is a standard, solid core door 1.75" thick. How did I know this? Because Yale was smart enough to include, in the instruction book, a "ruler" page to help you determine (1) how thick your door is, (2) where your deadbolt opening should be centered, (3) how wide your deadbolt hole is if pre-drilled, and (4) where to mark your door to drill a hole if necessary. Determining the thickness also helps you determine what set of screws/bolts you will use in the installation. In my case: BLACK. For me, all I had to do was remove the old, standard deadbolt (2 minutes) and install the new hardware (<15 minutes). The Yale app is required to Bluetooth to the lock once the 4xAA batteries are installed. The app not only sets up the lock for you (including the option to set a new unlock code under "guests") but it also includes quick video guides for each piece of the installation. Using the optional magnetic "door sense" module, you'll know not only if the door is locked/unlocked but also if it is open or closed. I chose, for now, to flush mount the door sense module but may decide to hide it in the framework of the door after seeing how easy it is to do so after watching Yale's hidden/flush mount installation video. Aside from the option to no longer carry keys and the ability to give someone a temporary code to access the house to water plants while on vacation, I love that my lock is integrated with Google Assistant/Home. "Hey Google, is the front door locked? Yes, the front door is locked." "Hey Google, unlock the front door..." and a request for the unlock code automatically appears on my phone. Stylish, functional, easy, Google Home integrated...what more could you want???

Easy to install, works great! .

New install on metal skin slab door. Mechanical side took about 1 hour. Tech side over TWO HOURS and still not working. Have internet, have Bluetooth, have a key (the only one of the three that works). FAQ section on app is terrible as is the support docs. Will return and find more reliable deadbolt. Item "seems" built better than the 6 Schlage digital locks we have, but those don't require internet/app/Bluetooth. God help this country if we lose the airwaves.

This thing is garbage the lock won’t work on the code really wanted install this but the lock ain’t no good if you can’t register is and there tech people didn’t help even went to u tube to get it to work
