Works well, but if you have the wifi adapter and you enable it the battery life pretty much is gone. Works well otherwise

I had to do my research when it came to purchasing a smart lock. This smart lock stood out to me the most how slick it is and best if all the features. Love how I can set up Auto -Lock and Unlock & grant & suspend access to guest. Best investment and purchase I’ve ever made.

I bought this when we installed a security screen on our front door. The door has an older Nest Yale lock, which I really like, but this one is even better. The only problems were with setup, which was a complete pain. Once I got it working though, no further issues.

I got this for my apartment and it was easy to set up. I also own a few google nest products and like the fact that everything works together pretty smoothly. I can tell my nest hub to lock/unlock the door. It automatically unlocks the door when I arrive home and locks when I come in.

Works great with HomeKit! Easy to install and get working with the app. Added easily to HomeKit. Only downside is that is doesn't include support for Apple Home Key, but overall very happy with this smart lock. Good build quality. Price is a little high, but worth it in my opinion.

The Yale assure 2 will surely keep your home safe. This is a reliable smart device. All too often do I find smart home devices that state they will do something but they don’t always do it well. This is usually goes for geofencing and close proximity where thing should unlock/lock, adjust your thermostat or start a smart vac. Luckily Yale has put the R&D in and came up with a trusty lock to keep your home and family secure with smart features that you can fully depend on. Installation is easy. I have changed deadbolts, doorknobs, and the like before so I have a bit of experience. This is similar to installing a normal deadbolt just with the technology packaged on to it. I followed the directions and succeeded on my first try and I assure (get it haha) that you will be able to do this yourself as well. If your door does not have a hole pre cut for a deadbolt you will need to hire a contractor, handyman, or locksmith. Digitally setting up the lock is a breeze. I made pins for myself and my wife. Two separate codes. What I like is that in the future I can give people is trust their own code that I can eventually lock them out but not effect my own code or the code my wife uses. Use the app to unlock or lock your door anywhere using your phone. Great for emergency’s when you’re away. The auto lock and unlock works and I will have this on time when needed but not often. The lock looks great inside and out. It’s clean and modern. The best thing about this device is that it’s a touch sensitive screen that lights up or rather a touch panel. This is great because the numbers won’t wear like a standard pin pad deadbolt where people can tell what numbers you enter which could compromise your security. No fear here, the screen won’t fade. One concern I have is that if the battery dies you have no back up. No keys are provided or available to use on this lock. To replace the batteries you have to be inside. I made my own back up with another exterior door so it really doesn’t bother me. Yet if you’re in a condo, apartment or only have one door. If it does have some sort of low power mode or backup mode it is not clearly stated. Make sure you keep batteries fresh. This does have notification system to let you know when to change the batteries. I recommend alway using high end batteries to keep things powered for as long as possible.

Unfortunately another Smart Lock that falls short. This was my 4th different brand, and like others, it falls short any many categories. Looks great!! Ended up returning this one. Had too many occasions where the app said the door was not locked, so would drive home to check, and the door was locked. Several times the app said the door was locked, came home and it was locked. Returned and purchased the Eufy WiFi with fingerprint and have had zero problems.

    Convenient and Feature Rich

First, let me tell you that setting up takes a bit of time. It is not difficult, but it is not as simple as I wish it would be, but once you get it installed and the app is set up, it is a breeze to use. It works with all major digital assistants and smart home hubs such as Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google. I’ve used a smart lock for years. Interestingly, that lock also belongs to Yale and is called Augusta. My major issue with Augusta was that the Wi-Fi module (or hub) was completely separate from the lock itself, requiring it to be connected to a power outlet. It has always been very inconvenient because it has to be very close to the door. Anyplace else, it won’t work. But this Yale Assure Lock 2 comes with a module that is inserted inside. No need to find an outlet. The downside of that convenience is that it will surely drain the battery much quicker as any Wi-Fi device does. Although my major concern with this product is that it doesn’t have a physical key, the keypad makes that type of key obsolete. Still, I miss it as I’m not sure how it works when the battery runs out. Will I be locked out? I believe there’s a way and I will probably find it when I actually read the manual, but a physical key would be a no brainer. There’s a lot to like such as automatically unlocking when you get to the driveway or unlocking from anywhere in the world for a family member for instance, or auto locking even if you forget to do so when you leave home or go to bed. You can also invite people with permanent or temporary access. All that through the app on your phone. I love the fact that the keypad is very discreet and small. The only issue is that you have to press the logo to light up the numbers, not just touch it as you’d expect from a touch screen. Not the case here. The only feature missing is fingerprint reading. That is becoming common for many other manufacturers, and I really wish they had incorporated that in this model.

I purchased two of these and had no problems installing them or anything. I only installed one but realized I needed a key set so I am returning these. BBY doesn't sell the Yale with a key so I have to change to the Kwikset.

    Drains Batteries

Lock worked great for about 2 years but now it rapidly drains the batteries. This lock takes 4 double A batteries and has lately been burning through them within 2-4 days. Right now I don't replace the batteries and have a lock that I can't unlock from the outside. I reached out to Best Buy support but was told I'd need to bring the lock in and they'd have to repair. This is an understandable solution but when I asked what am I supposed to do with my front door when I uninstall the lock and it's in for repair, I wasn't given any answer just that that is unfortunate. I don't think it's reasonable to expect people to go without their front door lock for an extended period of time for a repair like this.

So i had quite a scare that I'll lock myself out. shifted to Schlage wifi locks with key..just for that reason

I got 3 of these. None work how they are supposed to. A very incompetent third party hired by Best Buy couldn’t install them. He goofed it up and I had to call a locksmith to install them but he couldn’t program them. I followed the directions but I couldn’t program them either. One lock works only with the app, one only with the keypad, and the third one doesn’t work at all. I was subsequently told by a Best Buy manager that the Geek Squad could fix them but a Geek Squad rep said they couldn’t because they don’t have a license to work with smart locks. As soon as I can get my regular locks back on these are going back to the store.
