This is the 2nd yale smart lock I’ve owned, the first was the yale/nest lock which couldnt keep wifi sognall eith my mesh metwork due to design flaws with thenlock. This one has resolved that and the auto unlock based on proximity to the lock is fsntastic. However, it cannot auto lovk based on proximity, only via a timer which leaves room for improvement.

This is my second time to buy auto locker, this item is easy to install and easy to setup and use. Using your phone to open and close the door, also you can remotely open or close it.

Yale Smart Locks: A Costly Mistake – Don’t Buy!

TL;DR: 1. Burns through batteries. 2. The control app is archaic. 3. Support is horrible. 4. Does not play nice with Apple HomeKit/Google Home. 5. Constantly needs to be recalibrated. Overall: Do not buy. Yale Smart Locks: A Costly Mistake After Over a Year of Frustration – Don’t Buy! After over a year of living with these Yale locks, I can confidently say they’ve been one of the worst purchases we’ve made. From excessive battery usage to an outdated app and non-existent support, these locks are a constant headache. Here’s why: 1. Batteries Die Faster Than You Can Replace Them One of the biggest issues is battery life. Despite Yale’s claims, we’ve had to replace the batteries every 3 weeks at best. We’ve tried everything – brand-new batteries, different brands, even upgrading our network to a mesh system because tech support blamed the bandwidth. Still, nothing helped. At this point, we’ve tried moving the locks to less-used doors, but the problem persists. If you value your time, you’ll get tired of swapping batteries pretty quickly. 2. The Control App is Straight Out of the Stone Age The app used to manage these locks is horrendous. It’s sluggish, outdated, and has ridiculous limitations. For instance, only one person in the house can be an admin at a time – forget about managing these locks as a household. The app constantly fails to sync properly, and navigating its cluttered menus is beyond frustrating. For something that’s supposed to make your life easier, this app does the opposite. 3. Customer Support? More Like Customer Avoidance Every interaction with Yale’s support has been disappointing. We’ve called multiple times, and their response has been to blame everything but their product. They blamed our internet, leading us to invest in a new network setup, but it didn’t change a thing. Support simply doesn’t care once you’ve bought the product, and their suggestions are either obvious or downright unhelpful. 4. Does Not Play Nice with Apple HomeKit or Google Home If you’re planning to integrate these locks with Apple HomeKit or Google Home, prepare for frustration. They work – sometimes. Automation scenes fail to trigger, the status doesn’t update properly in the apps, and commands like locking/unlocking via Siri or Google Assistant often don’t work. It’s an unreliable integration at best, which defeats the purpose of having a “smart” lock. 5. Constant Recalibration Required Another major issue is the frequent need for recalibration. Even on doors we barely use, these locks lose alignment, and we have to recalibrate them over and over again. It’s a tedious process that gets old fast. For a product that’s supposed to streamline your life, it creates way more hassle than it solves. Overall Verdict: Don’t Waste Your Time or Money After over a year of dealing with these locks, we’re at the point of junking them. Between the short battery life, a terrible app, unreliable smart home integration, and subpar customer support, these locks have failed on every level. Despite spending a significant amount of money on three of them, we’re ready to cut our losses. There are much better options out there – do yourself a favor and avoid Yale locks altogether.

Yale Assure 2 Smart Lock for the win!

I purchased the Yale assure 2 Smart Lock for my Airbnb property. It came highly recommended by the Airbnb host community. I have had the lock for approximately 1 month now. This lock is integrated into the Airbnb app. I read a lot of reviews prior to making my final decision. I will say, I did not know in advance that I had to turn off the 5G. You can only use the Smart Lock via 2.5 g. I'm not sure if that's going to be an issue with future guests regarding Wi-Fi strength. I guess time will tell. I noticed that periodically the lock will lose Wi-Fi signal but it will immediately reconnect usually within the same minute. So far I'm very satisfied and would highly recommend this product.

Bought this lock so my wife didn't have to fumble with her keys when she got home. The auto unlock feature stopped working and then the app stopped controlling the lock. The lock would not connect to Bluetooth or WIFI. Yale blamed it on an Android update. I used the Apple app and the same problems existed. Yale will try 500 solutions before replacing the lock. I ended up buying another lock - it wasn't a Yale.

I’ve had other automatic locks before and this one just takes the cake. Very simple assembly. Compatible with most doors. Works like a charm. Yes, it’s battery powered, which is slightly inconvenient, but it also comes with a key in the event it’s not working. I’m very pleased. PLUS you can connect Alexa to it and I NEVER HAVE TO GIVE OUT KEYS AGAIN!!!

Easy install, works great. I've been using this lock for the last 5 months without issue. I'm not the most handy person, and had no problems getting it installed. We mostly use the keypad for entry, but I like having a key for an emergency backup. My only complaint is the the apple watch function is pretty poor.

Very easy installation, works great and haven't had any issues yet. Only 1 thing I wish it would have is to be able to change the physical key to match the rest of my door locks other than that this is a great product! Always have the key as backup but never had to use it just yet.
