Phenomenal lock. Love everything about it. The batteries lasts WAY longer than the one I replaced, which wasn't even "smart"

These locks work well overall but are quite finicky when it comes to setup, connection and adding registered users/codes. Honestly one pain point is the requirement to setup WiFi twice to get Door Sense to fully function. And than not having any information on a KB or FAQ related to the situation. Their overall door sense documentation is rudimentary at best.

Do not recommend. We go thru batteries like crazy. The door will lock on its on. Spend the money on a better one. We have had to go out the garage, because this lock would not unlock.

This pick works just fine as a lock. However, the app is very finicky. Sometimes it cannot detect the lock, sometimes it times out, etc. also, sometimes you have to use the Yale app and other times you have to use the August app.

I do like this as a whole. I purchased it because I was upgrading my cameras and wanted everything to work with Alexa. It took me a little bit to figure out that the touch pad won't illuminate until you hit the check mark. Which is good for battery but it does make using it a little difficult. I've tried setting up the finger print reader but to this point, it hasn't wanted to process correctly. I will say, a big win for this unit is the fact that you can change the codes from your phone! As well as set it up for guest codes so should you not have a camera, you'll know exactly who's going in and out. One thing about this that is universally hated, is the "Yale Alarm" app. It will not connect to Alexa even though it claims to. But the "Yale Access" app works great. And I do appreciate there being an external master key access should you otherwise be locked out due to battery issues or otherwise.

Mildly consistent functionality, wi-fi smart never works (added cost too) Finger print sensor is so finicky - I get locked out / timed out frequently. Expensive for the quality of product and experience. Also, ours totally shut down after our first battery change - zero functionality, still waiting for a response to my support ticket request.

Good so far. Still leashing all The fictions of the device. Install was easy. App connectivity through Bluetooth is a pain sometimes but once you get it connected to WiFi it’s good to go.

I really loved this lock. I thought it was great and a huge upgrade from what I used to have. For almost three months it was very good. Installed super easily, app setup was easy, setting up fingerprints and guest codes was problem-free. Nice to have the key as a backup option. Even the finger print reader was good! And then the problems started. About two weeks ago the door spontaneously started unlocking. I would go to lock the door and it would unlock itself. This happened sporadically and I thought it was a fluke. Well it continued to happen, and what was even more odd is that when it would unlock itself it would also (sometimes) change the settings on the auto-lock timer, which was set to 5 minutes. This meant that not only would it unlock itself, but it also wouldn't lock itself again. My worst fears were later realized when it would unlock itself at 2 AM and stay unlocked until I saw a notification or walked by the lock in the morning. So I reached out to Yale support, and like other reviews you will read, they give you the full runaround. They will make you send them all kinds of logs, screenshots, try every troubleshooting step in the book, and do everything they can to avoid fulfilling the warranty and sending you a new lock. At the time of this writing I'm getting married in a few days and leaving for a honeymoon and I can't wait for them to finally decide to fulfill their warranty promise to get a new lock. A lock that won't stay locked or does whatever it wants is not useful nor is it safe. I highly recommend avoiding this product. This is a known problem that Yale refuses to address. You can find numerous threads on Reddit and in other reviews that mention similar issues and Yale support being of no help, I've purchased a Schlage Encode Plus in the hopes that it will work as intended. While this review will get buried under the other positive reviews, consider the possibility that maybe I got a dud, and I'm just unlucky. But when it comes to the safety of your home, I wouldn't take that risk, and I encourage you to buy a different lock.

The entire installation and setup/configuration was breeze. Just be aware that you'll need at least a 1-inch depth for the bolt for proper range of motion calibration

We upgraded from a programmable lock to this one. I was able to create users easily without an entey code. It was phone dependent or fingerprint programmable.
