I will never purchase another Yale smart product. I purchased one about 3 years ago and had an awful experience. I ended up switching to Eufy and absolutely loved that smart lock. When I moved and wanted a new smart lock, the Eufy was out of stock so I went with the Yale Assure Lock 2. This lock uses 4 AA batteries that need to be replaced every 3-4 weeks. The wifi connectivity is absolute garbage, and most features can only be used/edited when your phone is connected via bluetooth (meaning within 5 feet of the lock). The sensor that detects whether the door is open has never worked properly, and the support always just tells you to reset and reinstall the entire lock when this happens.

I decided to purchase this in March. Unfortunately it started to die before we could even make it to June. Initially I noticed the batteries died within the first two weeks. The second set of batteries lasted about 4 weeks. The third set of batteries lasted about 2 days, now. The lock is non-functional. The app states that the lock needs to be configured for the first time. Starting the process for a warrant exchange or something I will update.

Overall I’m happy with the lock. The wifi connection goes out about once a day for a few minutes and them auto-reconnects. Not a major issue, but annoying.

This is a great door lock, super convenient. It was a little hard to get all our devices connected, but we were able to after one reset. We really like it.

I know this is a smart lock and the whole purpose of it is to not have keys. I did not like that you cannot use the internals of your old lock. It comes with its own new key. Having a house keyed onto 1 key type is expensive and I did not have the intention of having multiple keys for my doors (for those just in case times). Also, if you were to install a secondary smart lock, it has a different key! I'm just going to use my August and my own key. (Yale and August are now owned by the same company.)

Works great when it works. Many of times the auto-unlock feature won't work so you need to hide a key and occasionally it will completely disconnect from Wi-Fi so don't forget your key.

Had a locksmith install. The fingerprint reader function was opening when others put their finger on the reader. We tried multiple resets, and spoke to the Yale customer service representative in our attempt to fix the problem. Nothing worked, as it kept opening when anyone touched the reader. When I returned to Best Buy in the appropriate time frame, they would not give me a refund - only store credit for a defective product they sold.

with our busy life and our teens coming and going, this lock has made things easier and easier to keep track of. Installation can be tricky, but the website lists a lot of great videos to help with the process.

Lock works as advertised. Software is in need of some TLC. Doesn't work on Pixel Phones for some odd reason. Luckily I had a samsung device to unbrick the first of 4 locks I set up.

Having the option of fingerprint, code, and key is great

I have used previous Yale locks in the past and have always loved their products, this lock is amazing! Love the aesthetics of the lock , super sleek and thin, the fingerprint sensor is super accurate and overall no complaints!

Super easy to set up and seems to be very stable (for a smart home product). I love the auto-lock/unlock feature. Walking up to your house and having it unlock just as you get to the handle is incredible and very helpful. Probably my favorite smart home device so far.

So far so good. I’ve only had the lock since 1/8/25. The first lock failed so we will see how long this one lasts.
