The entire installation and setup/configuration was breeze. Just be aware that you'll need at least a 1-inch depth for the bolt for proper range of motion calibration

This pick works just fine as a lock. However, the app is very finicky. Sometimes it cannot detect the lock, sometimes it times out, etc. also, sometimes you have to use the Yale app and other times you have to use the August app.

We upgraded from a programmable lock to this one. I was able to create users easily without an entey code. It was phone dependent or fingerprint programmable.

I really loved this lock. I thought it was great and a huge upgrade from what I used to have. For almost three months it was very good. Installed super easily, app setup was easy, setting up fingerprints and guest codes was problem-free. Nice to have the key as a backup option. Even the finger print reader was good!
And then the problems started. About two weeks ago the door spontaneously started unlocking. I would go to lock the door and it would unlock itself. This happened sporadically and I thought it was a fluke. Well it continued to happen, and what was even more odd is that when it would unlock itself it would also (sometimes) change the settings on the auto-lock timer, which was set to 5 minutes. This meant that not only would it unlock itself, but it also wouldn't lock itself again.
My worst fears were later realized when it would unlock itself at 2 AM and stay unlocked until I saw a notification or walked by the lock in the morning.
So I reached out to Yale support, and like other reviews you will read, they give you the full runaround. They will make you send them all kinds of logs, screenshots, try every troubleshooting step in the book, and do everything they can to avoid fulfilling the warranty and sending you a new lock. At the time of this writing I'm getting married in a few days and leaving for a honeymoon and I can't wait for them to finally decide to fulfill their warranty promise to get a new lock.
A lock that won't stay locked or does whatever it wants is not useful nor is it safe. I highly recommend avoiding this product. This is a known problem that Yale refuses to address. You can find numerous threads on Reddit and in other reviews that mention similar issues and Yale support being of no help,
I've purchased a Schlage Encode Plus in the hopes that it will work as intended. While this review will get buried under the other positive reviews, consider the possibility that maybe I got a dud, and I'm just unlucky. But when it comes to the safety of your home, I wouldn't take that risk, and I encourage you to buy a different lock.

Love this lock. Setup was easy. I can add multiple fingerprints and codes for family. I can unlock remotely and with my Google home. It tracks when the lock was opened and what code/finger print was used. It has a physical key for emergencies. It also plays a distinct sound when batteries are low. I suggest rechargeable batteries as the batteries don't do well with doors that received direct sunlight. Amazing lock

Overall, a nice solid lock. It is really bad at trying to be a smart lock. The batteries only last a week if it has to connect to wifi. My access point for the door is 5 feet above the door but Yale tech support told me the battery drain is due to poor wifi signal. The shipped me a hub to solve the battery drain. Now the battery lasts a little longer but the lock has problems connecting to the hub. Poor bluetooth signal, but the door is next to the outlet the hub is plugged into, about 2 feet away. Will never recommend Yale to even my enemies.

Good so far. Still leashing all
The fictions of the device. Install was easy. App connectivity through Bluetooth is a pain sometimes but once you get it connected to WiFi it’s good to go.
