The best soundbar on the market. Why? Because it has a SUBWOOFER RCA INPUT. The sound quality is great. The Alexa feature is really nice. But, most of all; they don't force you to purchase a subwoofer with a proprietary brand name or a wireless gimmick. BYO Sub Woofer. Fantastic product. Thank you Yamaha. Will buy again if you keep this feature.

I was looking for a sound bar that I could hookup my subwoofer that I already had, this is one of the few that you could do it using an RCA cable. Overall I’m satisfied, the only issue I have is the remote, you have to point directly at the bar and even then the response is horrible. I tried to pair it with my cable box remote but I guess since the bar is new they haven’t gotten around to include this model on the pairing list. I’m not sure who does the updates for the new codes, the cable company or Yamaha, I just hope one of them does it soon.

I did research on this and I have always been happy with the Yamaha AV products. This was very easy to set up and gives the user a few options with streaming music as well as the TV theater/sound function. The Alexa is nice too if you are into the voice assistant. I have enjoyed the sound & quality of the product so far

As a more budget friendly soundbar, I was quite surprised by the quality of the YAS-109. It was fairly straight forward with setup and the addition of the mobile app makes for one less remote to have on hand. The only minor complaint I have is that, unlike many other soundbars, the YAS-109 does not come on automatically when the audio source is turned on (i.e TV, bluray player, game system, etc). Aside from that minor inconvenience, it is a great option for those on a budget looking for good sound quality for a mid-sized room.

For the size and the price, I was pleasantly surprised. It sounds very good; clear mids and highs, and punchy bass. I hooked my Pioneer sub-woofer to it and it completes the sound experience. This was supposed to be a temporary solution but I think I'll just keep it and my permanent entertainment system. I have it connected to my LG 65" Nanocell90 TV. I am not crazy about the app; not many features or settings. The different modes (Movies, TV, Sports) are practical. Music sounds good either streaming from a service like iTunes or Tidal or via Bluetooth from my iPad. Alexa works well so far but I need to test more features. I would really recommend this bar.

The price was pretty good and the sound quality was definitely a huge step up from the built-in speakers of my Sony X900H. However, I didn't like its all-fabric covering - it is a real dust magnet. I decided to go all-in and upgrade to the Sonos Arc, instead. The jury is still out if it was worth the extra $$$$. But so far I'm happy with that decision. But overall, I'd say the Yamaha 2.1 soundbar is a really solid choice for those on a budget who are looking for a solid upgrade over the (terrible) built-in speakers of the TV and who need a compact self-contained solution and are not looking to expand to to a multi-speaker surround sound setup.

This fattens up the sound to my new TV. As for doing chores around the house with a music system, I should have spent more and bought the Woffer version. Installation was difficult as I spent a few hours clicking and reading and in frustration I left everything unplugged for the day and when replugged in everything connected and works fine. Across-the-board Yamaha makes great products so I had faith and bought this rather than the matching LG. I'm not second guessing this purchase where I would be otherwise. I didn't want a monster theatre grade sound for high dollars, I just wanted to have a warmer sound and that's what I have with this unit. Am very content with with my purchase.

If your on the market for your first or just on a budget for a sound bar!? You can stop looking and pick this one up right now!! This is a great value sound bar to replace your basic tv speakers, the difference is night & day..! Works best with a subwoofer so if you have one laying around the house plug it in and be amazed!~ Overall it’s a 10/10 for me, say goodbye to your tv speakers because this sound bar packs a punch for action films and provides clear voice for any program you’re watching as well, it’s mountable and it looks very slick for any setup!~

I've been using the Yamaha 2.1 channel soundbar for about a week now. For the price of the product it is truly worth every penny. I will list the pros and cons of the soundbar below. (Pros)-Amazon Alexa built in feature -Sound very clear for movies and video games -Sound can get to high volume which isn't distorted to ears -Very good built quality "Premium Finish" -Great bass (Cons)-Music quality can be better, it doesn't sound clear enough. -Instructions not clear to download the official music app for soundbar, download "Sound Bar Controller app" not MusicCast controller app! Overall my experience for the soundbar has been amazing. Price has been on sale lately, so you will be getting a good deal. Bonus tip: You will need the Amazon Alexa app and the Sound Bar Controller app in order to have Alexa enabled on soundbar.

The ability to add your own subwoofer to this is nice And I like that it is Alexa capable. However using it is difficult and the instructions that came with it are subpar to say the least. It has no display screen so figuring out what mode it is in or what setting you’re on is complicated and took quite a bit of playing with. The sound is OK but I wish it had an option where you can link surround speakers to it because in action scenes the sound gets muffled and lost. All in all it’s an okay sound bar for the cost but if you are looking for a more complete sound experience I’d recommend looking elsewhere and maybe spending a few more $$

It’s a pretty decent sound bar with pretty good sound quality and bass is ok for a sound bar that’s under $250. Built in Alexa is definitely a plus.

The soundbar looks great and sounds even better. It was easy to setup and very easy to use. My only complaint is that it defaults to ARC and there is no way to use the optical port if ARC is enabled. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable soundbar.

So.. yes alexa is here so is wifi and bluetooth. This is only sound bar that has subwoofer out bluetooth, wifi, alexa and app control. I like it because I want to use my old subwoofer which is much more powerful then anything you get with any sound bar. It does pack a punch for a small box. Even though it has built in sub don't even bother if you don't already own a subwoofer. this soundbar is for a person that already has extra subwoofer around the house. I've tried many sound bars and this one is a keeper. The good: Sub out, alexa built in, bluetooth, app control, easy to mount to the wall, no need for extra brackets, remote, low profile Bad: No dts x, no Dolby atmos, no on screen display, no way to connect rear surrounds, Alexa is somewhat limited, no display on unit only LEDs.

Recently I purchased a Yamaha YAS-109 sound bar to replace the tinny sound of my OLED 55 c6 TV. The sound bar was well packaged and simple to connect to the TV through a HMDI arc connection. This connection allowed me to control most functions of the sound bar through my tv remote. the all inclusive bar sounded quite good, TV sounded clearer, movies more detailed, and even music was enjoyable. The clear voice option brought voices to the forefront and made dialogue easier to understand. The only problem with the bar is that the TV frequently drops the bar and converts back to the TV speakers. Unfortunately, I could find no experts to rectify this situation thus I will be returning this sound bar.

I had made a list of Sound Bars I wanted, this Sound Bar was number 2 on my list, first one was Bose, but I couldn't find the one I was looking for. It is a good Sound Bar, sound is good and for music it was nice, I really like the Clear Voice feature, and I can control the bass, I can hear people in the movies now. Easy to set up but I had to Google on how to turn off certain features.

I wanted to upgrade the sound on a 5 or so year old Samsung TV in our basement where I often watch webcast concerts. I chose the Yamaha over the Harmon Kardon which I had heard was very good. Hard to know if I made the right choice. The Yamaha is a clear upgrade over TV sound but I expected a little more. Also, I'm disappointed that it is not compatible with TV controls so there's not way to see your settings (volume, bass, etc.). You can tell whether it's on and which settings are selected only by looking at the little lights on top of the bar. Still, it serves my purppose and I'm generally happy with it.

This is the best sound bar I have ever owned. I like having improved sound, but my wife hates it when movies sounds are extremely loud, but you can't hear voices clearly. This bar has some great options to balance out what works for you. If you want to crank it loud you can, but you can also find a more quiet balance. I didn't know it had Alexa until I got it, and am ecstatic. It works great and I moved my echo dot to another area of the house. There are issues with the app not allowing you to connect with the sound bar at least with iOS. The issue appears to be the updated iOS app not finding the bar which has older firmware. My workaround was to use an ethernet cable to allow the sound bar to update it's firmware. It will update as soon as there is an internet connection. After it updates, then you can use the app to find the sound bar and hook it up with Amazon to enable Alexa. It will also allow more detailed sound settings. I used HDMI connection with my Vizio tv to connect everything through the tv remote. It works fantastic!
