Easy to hook up and install. Sound is great in our small house, not sure it would be effective in a larger room/home. We are happy with our purchase.

Pretty good unit, though I had probably too high expectations for thinking my open concept cathedral ceiling family room would be transformed into Dolby theatre sound. It definitely does make TV sound much much better, and also provides good sound for streaming music. A little difficult to initially get connected to my WiFi. Phone app useful for changing modes and also easy firmware updates. Big advertised feature is Alexa integration but I don’t have that so don’t care.

Makes me wonder how we ever heard the TV without it. Makes a world of difference and sounds way richer and more real that the television did. Probably not the best speaker out there but it is certainly great value for the price. We wall mounted it and it was surprisingly easy to do that as well.

Great sound. Had some difficulty connecting DVR, sound bar and TV. Once it was there, it worked great.

This soundbar has decent sound, a definite improvement over most TV speakers, but doesn't do as well as other single-piece systems I've used with "built in" subwoofers at not letting the bass reduce the quality of lows and mids. Voice clarity is good, with Clear Voice enabled, but lacks the timbre of (typically) male voices. I was adjusting to a new TV at the same time as this soundbar and it took a while to figure out, but my video quality (Roku Ultra/4k) was negatively affected by using the HDMI passthru. This could have been due to overall length of 2 cables between source and TV, I read somewhere that is a possible factor in signal quality, I just know there was noticeable improvement to the TV display once I connected the Roku directly and rather used an optical cable for the soundbar. Wifi and network: I've tried three networks, including one physical connection, and installed the app to three different devices, including iPhone, iPad and Android. I still have not been successful in the app discovering the soundbar. The app finds the soundbar via bluetooth for initial communication, and according to the indicator light on the soundbar, it is connected to wifi, but the app never then discovers it. My connected TV includes Alexa. And with echo devices piling up, not being able to use the voice features of the soundbar is not a big loss for me. However, I suspect there may be settings within the app to further tune sound and behavior, which I would be very interested in using.

Excellent sound bar for my LG TV! This sound bar is superior to the tinny sounding tv speakers. It was very easy to install and setup and it also works with the TV remote to turn on and off and to adjust the volume. I would highly recommend this sound bar for any TV.

Great room filling sound, doesn’t take up much space. The bass is what one would expect from a internal sub set up.

Bought a new tv and knew the sound from tv would be garbage so picked this up being able to mount flat on wall under tv. Sound was shockingly impressive, bass is kind of flat but is expected from something this small. Easy to hide wires when wall mounting. Setting up the app was a difficult process but eventually got it. But setting up the soundbar from the app is the way to go, using arc to the tv lets you control volume from the tv remote. Great budget soundbar, good job yamaha!

Sound is good, not as much bass as I thought it would have but that wasn’t the most important part for me. I was having a hard time hearing the tv, it’s much much better with this sound bar, and it seems to pair up with the tv remote most of the time.

Perfect product for those who want a nice upgrade from factory tv speakers. Clear voice brings out the dialogue very well on sitcom tv. The Built in subs are adequate for small rooms/apartments/don’t want to disturb others with a separate subwoofer on the wall.

This Yamaha YAS-109 sound bar is exactly what I was looking for. It has everything I wanted... built in Subwoofers, Surround sound, Clear Voice mode, Bluetooth and Alexa Voice Control is a nice extra to listen to Amazon music.

Recently upgraded from a Yamaha YAS -101 Sound bar to a Yamaha YAS -109. As a result I am receiving better quality sound. I utilize this only for watching TV. The 109 height is less than the 101 so not a distraction while watching the TV. Would recommend this unit.

I bought this soundbar because I wanted an HDMI in port and subwoofer out port to add in the future. Not the best sounding soundbar out there but much better than what these thin tvs can produce these days. The design is small enough to not obstruct the tv screen. Note that the indicator lights are on the top of the unit so depending on how you mount it the lights can be difficult to see or not at all lol

It's a nice build, easy to set up, and the features work as intended. However, the sound is very flat and muddy. The included pre-set equalizer settings do very little to change this (and seem to do very little in general), and you cannot adjust the treble and bass yourself. You can, however, adjust the subwoofer level, which is good, because by default its on full blast and makes everything sound way too full and boom-y. The 3D surround and voice clarity options make the audio sound horrendous. The remote is overly simple and unless the bar is mounted to a wall, you will not even be able to see the LED indicators as they will be facing upward so you don't really know what is selected. I can't stress this enough - just because the bar is loud and bass-heavy, does not mean you are hearing good quality sound. If you turn the subwoofer all the way down, it will be very apparent how flat this thing's sound output really is. My TV's built in speakers honestly sound better.

I was pretty excited to get this, mainly because I love Yamaha products. But I have been a little underwhelmed by the quality of the sound. There are several modes to choose from - which is good - but the overall volume is not loud enough when needed, and I constantly found myself turning it up on the low parts and down on the loud parts. I could never find the sweet spot. Could be user error. However, I am still satisfied with the purchase.
