This surround sound system is terrific. I find myself listening to music more than watching movies with it.

Purchased this for a starter home theater system. Sounds is really good for the room, approx 15'x30'. Issue is it will not recognize the PS5, I set the resolution on PS5 to 4k 60hz and the receiver keeps acting like the system is connected/disconnected rapidly. Worked with tech support and they said it can't handle the PS5.
PS4(1080p) and 4k firestick work fine. Wish I would've just paid for a better model up front.
Also, if you have a PS4 and put the receiver in 4k upscale it will do the same thing, system acts like it connects/disconnects rapidly. So I have to go into receiver and disable upscale when I want to play PS4 (mainly just is for 3D movies).
Had 1 surround speaker go out and they replaced it right away, service was good.
Pictures included are what it rapidly flashes over and over. Last one is how it should be.

More than enough as it fills the room with complete sound. The AM/FM reception is excellent with clarity beyond expectations. The sub woofer carries a bass that like the entire system performs above and beyond!

Great value bundle if you need all of the speakers. Sub has more than enough thump for small and medium rooms. Center and front speakers a little undersized, but they work well with the sub and the system delivers a nice theater surround if you set up the speakers properly.
Very easy to install- straight forward old-fashioned style wired stereo and sub, nothing wireless (no interference!), no proprietary wires needed. Bluetooth pairs easily with one device at a time. System is recognized with no setup needed by Roku smart TV.
Get the bundle if you need a complete system with all of the speakers, hassle free with easy setup. The included front and center speakers are serviceable, but if you already have better ones, then consider getting the standalone receiver instead.

Picked this system up today, 7/4/20.
Couple things i didnt realize, one is that you have to strip and cut the speaker wires themselves. Every HTIB ive gotten was plug and play, so excpet to spend about 30-40 mins doing that.
The picture looks good on the system once connected to a tv. I have a premium samsung 65" 4k tv. The menu for the system is basic, almost 80s like. But its pretty much stright forward.
Theres no way to really change the video settings on it, it pretty much passes everything at 4k, unfortunally unlike tvs you cant really tweak the video settings. I notice with cable box connected to this rather then tv directly, some channels show a bit more grain in them.
My biggest gripe wiht this is the audio. I have this plugged into my ARC on the tv. The cablebox, ps4, bluray player and switch play fine threw it. But i notice when i access netflix, disney+ or any streaming app, the sysetm will still only play audio from cable box. I had to get addition optical wire and connect tv to optical on box in order to get the audio from streaming services.
The other thing that is a bit annoying is the remote. On other remotes, each hdmi has its on button, on this, u have to hit source up and down to get to the hdmi u want or do it threw "options". For a $500 system, the remote should have its own individual buttons to hit and access.
The sound is good and crisp, the subwoofer gives a good buff. I have all 5 speakers in front of tv for virtual surround, sometimes u notice it, sometimes u dont. I also notice sometimes the bass/tremble isnt there when it hsould be
Over all, i like the system, idk if $500 is a good asking price for it with those flaws, maybe they can release a remote thats more user friendly towards us older generation.

East to set up and operate. Great surround sound and very loud. The sub is adjustable and can give you the booms and rumbles needed for a quality surround sound system. The included microphone for optimizing sound is awesome. I had an old system and was able to use my existing speaker wires which were better than the ones included in the box. I would buy this again but suggest you buy high quality speaker wires.

I bought this Feb 6 2020 and have always been happy with it! This system is still hooked up in my theater room and as good as day one. Plenty of settings for different movies and games or any room you want it in. Quality is great as well as sound and bass and ease of use.

Awesome unit. Great sound like the real movie theaters. Take your time setting it up and read the instructions to get the most out of it. Two ways to set it up. Speakers under your screen or main speaker up front and others behind you. Also comes with a gadget that you set in the center of your speaker room and adjusts the speakers automatically so they get the full sound effect in the center of the room. Pretty cool technology.
Our family really enjoys it on movie night at home. The Yamaha Home Theater System is a great addition to your projector screen movies.
Bluetooth hookup is easy to do. Great Woofer speaker with Bass. Rumble your home theater system with this Yamaha. You won't be sorry. Five stars for sure.

While it is bought as a box set I'll kinda pick it apart here a little. To start off with the receiver. Very well built, alot of features, and alot of room for expansion. Comes with built in bluetooth and multiple inputs so you can run almost anything through it. Overall very good receiver.
Next I'll go to the satalite speakers. Seem fairly will built, good sound range, and decent sound clarity. Definitely not super high end speakers but definitely worth the price you're paying for the set. Personally I will be adding some towers for better sound.
Lastly the sub. Fairly powerful sub by itself. If you're going for movie theater bass this will definitely not work for you. As far as movies go it picks up the bass fairly well. Any movie with a heavy amount of bass this sub will do just fine for your house. However I've found when it comes to music its much less reliable. Sounds with a consistent bass line it begins to slightly distort. Overall I give the sub 3/5 stars and really the only reason this entire setup doesnt get a 5/5. If you're not into deeper heavier bass then this set up is perfect.
The upside to all of this is everything is easily expandable. You can add in different speakers, and sub to adjust to your needs. Definitely is a great base for any home theater system.

Great home theater 5.1 sound for our small media room. System sets up easily, and is fairly easy to use. Lots of input options, including one audio return channel HDMI (not eARC). For the price, we're very happy with the purchase.
Wish it had a time of day clock on the display.

Sound is absolutely brilliant for the price. Quality is top notch too. Looks like a high end receiver that would cost $1200 alone, but its a complete system for almost half the price! Power is plentiful enough to upgrade to bigger center and front channel speakers if need them. I have this installed in a room that is 20Wx25L and is more then enough. Sound is big and loud without maxing it out. Strongly recommend for large rooms.

This was purchased as a gift to bring someone the ability to listen to music with great sound and watch movies with surround sound. Good quality 4 the money. Happy with that sound quality, got it set up for them and put in a movie and the surround sound. Is good, it is in a smaller house so it did work well with the smaller speakers. Easy set up and came with speaker wire, but the speaker wire is cheap but enables you to get up and going out of the box. Purchasing some quality speaker wire would probably deliver a little better sound and recommend purchasing a quality HDMI cable to deliver good picture and sound quality.

Love the sound. Great bass and plenty of treble. Has alot of qol options. 4 hdmi inputs. A few options to connect device sound input. Bluetooth is awesome to jam out from your phone. I dont like that the controller is ir and not radio so you have to be pointing it at the center. Otherwise would definitely recommend.

Great sound, lots of bass. Love this Yamaha system. Easy to setup. Only suggestion I would make would be to add a little better speaker wire. I purchased some locally pretty cheap. Other than that, it’s a great system.

Great sound quality. easy to set up and doesn’t break the bank. I’ve connected this via Bluetooth to my home projector. The bass on the subwoofer is really something.
It came with a YPAO surround sound optimizer, that helped me get the most out of a surround sound system

This sound system comes in a box easy install. Make to buy enough speaker wire 50feet. Cable management. Measure the area's you'll install the center front right left and two back satellite speakers along with subwoofer. For best sound use arc cable from tv to the receiver. When you turn the tv on the receiver turns on and goes to the right channel automatically. 725 W gives you flexibility to upgrade to floor speakers and larger bass and satellite speakers in the future if you decide that's for you. This is a really good starter surround system without the hassle of piecing the parts together. The sound quality is better than any of the other sound bar 5.1 systems I've tried. The experience on all sorts of content ranging from gaming to streaming is really immersive. The built in tuner is really nice with 40 plus presets. Bluetooth is really nice to pair with your phone, tablet, pc's. If you want a plug and play surround sound system that sounds like a much more expensive unit you will be happy with the Yamaha.

My old system finally gave out on me after 20 years so searching for a new system was a bit daunting online to try to find the right setup and system with an affordable price. The Yamaha system was an excellent choice. Easy setup although they give you the connection cable (and a lot of it) you still had to strip the wires. Once setup, I installed the drivers and I was good to go. The base is a bit heavy but I'll take it as I don't turn up the volume that much. I would recommend this to someone that is looking for great sound for an affordable price.
