So far so good. Took about 30 minutes to set up…couple more hours to get the sound to work. If your sound doesn’t work right off the bat, you may have to play with the setting on either your tv or the receiver or possibly both. Has great sound quality, subwoofer has great bass-enough to shake my whole house. I did not use the speaker wire that come with it tho, I bought 14 gauge speaker wire off Amazon to use instead.

I was nervous to buy this given the mixed reviews but for $233 I had to try it. I was extremely satisfied. My TV has weak built in speakers and this really improved it, along with using my phone to play music on via Bluetooth. The only tricky part during setup was getting the sound to work with my Stereo AND TV speaker. But I think that is at the fault of my T.V. This is my first stereo system and I am by no means an audiophile, but I think everything sounds good. I have literally recommended this to people I know.

I recently purchased the Yamaha 5.1-Channel 4K Home Theater Speaker System with a good discount, and I must say, it has dramatically enhanced my home entertainment experience. The audio quality is impressive, providing clear and immersive sound. The powered subwoofer adds depth to movies and music, while Bluetooth streaming allows for convenient connectivity. Minor setup complexities, but overall an excellent choice for an affordable home theater upgrade.

I priced many systems and when Best Buy ran this on sale I went ahead and got it. We like our movie time and this just brings things to life. Set up was a breeze once we got all the wires run. Sounds amazing for the price. My son has a similar system and after watching a movie with my grand kids we were sold.

I set this unit in my bedroom, sounds amazing, the base really has good kick to it, like how was easy to set up and how many options you have for different listening modes. Not bad.

Great value and power for the price. I replaced the speakers with a higher quality set and now it sounds so much better.

I wanted a modular approach to a sound system that would allow me to add a blu ray and other input devices to my setup and this fit the bill nicely. Speakers are nothing great but sound way better than the TV's embedded speakers and being stand alones, they can be located further left and right of the TV for a better stereo effect while the rear speakers really fill in the sound; important for being used in a "Girl Cave" where the occupant is always moving to different parts of the room (sitting, standing, and inverted). Speaker wire is dismayingly thin and getting them securely into the correct speaker ports on the back of the receiver was a challenge for my fat hands and dim eyes.

The Yamaha surround system has a great sound for the price. Set up and use was easy. The center channel can be a little soft. Good base response and mid volume.

Yamaha is one of the leaders in home audio systems and this unit at this price point is an excellent choice . I’m not an audiophile , but I do have an ear for music that’s clean , crisp and clear. The dynamic range is terrific at highs, lows and midrange frequencies, and an As kicking subwoofer that may have your neighbors or law enforcement at your door if the volume is too high . The sound quality is really great, better than any sound bar I’ve ever purchased.

This is a solid home theater sound system. In all honesty, I did not realize what a difference adding this to my home theater would make. I have had no problem getting great TV's but typically rely on the TV speakers or a sound bar. The Bluetooth is easy to set up and found my iPhone with no issue. Why not 5 stars? The speakers are ok, but not as good as I had hoped. The are very lightweight and work fine, but I will likely upgrade to better speakers in the future. The receiver itself is really nice and the remote is easy to use and program. I also recommend picking up some speaker wire that is a bit more heavy duty if you buy this unit.

Our old system had quit working so we had been using an old sound bar as a temporary fix until we moved. I knew I didn’t need anything too fancy butI wanted a basic all in one system. This was it! Everything you need for a basic 5.1 sound system came in one box. Very easy to hook up and the sound is great. So nice to have surround sound again!

Im not an audiophile, but I enjoy rich 5.1 sound. This baby was simple to set up and worked first time out. You simply HDMI all your components to the receiver and 1 HDMI to your TV. There’s so much more I dont have time to write about it, such as Bluetooth, and USB. I’m ecstactic because all the instructions and diagrams were easy to follow. For me the surround sound was awesome, hope you enjoy your’s

Bought this as an open box buy, we have a small living room and it is more than enough power to fill it with sound. In terms of adding the TV, PS4, Record Player, etc...it's straight forward enough. The sound quality is excellent, but I'm not an high end user or audiophile....We just it for Netflix, playing records, playstation, TV, etc and it works really well. Excellent quality/value for the money. I don't think I would upgrade to a higher end sys....sure would be nice, but from my POV, not needed. This sys is good enough.

Amazing sound system for anyone wanting to have a surround sound system. It is incredibly easy to set up. And for the price it is amazing quality.

Easy to set up, clear and deep sounding bass. Highly recommend the product. Worth the pricey tag, but it’s Yamaha so you know what you are getting.

This system has good sound quality. The subwoofer provides good base. I have pleasantly surprised with this system's high level of volume and quality of sound.

Sony make a good surround sound for home use but doesn't break the bank. This is the second one of these i had and the newer one replaced one killed by lightning. the newer one has plastic cased speakers instead of wood however the sound is just as good or better. New features in the receiver make it a great buy for someone looking for a solid surround sound unit with easy instructions for set up.

Had been wanting this system for a couple of years. Did not want to buy it due to the cost being high, so I had settled for the other home theater systems. Well all i have to say it was worth the wait. This system blows everything else away. We watched the new zack snyder Justice League on it and it was so loud it felt like we were in the movie. It feels just like a movie theater. You may need to adjut the settings but it does come with several presets so you can find the one that works best for you.

I wanted to up the a/v for our living room, and wanted something better than a soundbar (I don't care how much/fancy a soundbar is, they just don't cut it for surround sound), but not as big as the 7.2 theater setup I have in our family room. This setup does the trick. Good clear sound, good subwoofer, and easy installation. More than plenty of inputs to run whatever you want through it. I do think the price is a tad high (should be $50-75 less, IMO) but still a great alternative to a soundbar or a large setup.
